Humburger is one of a proliferation of burger bars around town. We went about a week or two after they opened, hoping for a less commercial approach than Grill'd, and perhaps hoping for the same delicious burgers as Huxtaburger. What we found was much more seating space than Huxtaburger, and parking is actually achievable. Make sure you check out the rear courtyard and the bunnies, and the wall plastered with vintage newspapers. The burgers are good, though perhaps not as juicy as we would have hoped. And certainly the staff are much more friendly, probably because they are the owners and don't have any employees yet. read more

It's a bit hit and miss in my opinion.. On good days their burgers are delicious and everything you would hope for in a burger but on bad days their burgers are cold with soggy buns and dry meat... To be fair, I still think it's better than most. read more

It was a Sunday evening and nothing at home was gong to satisfy my hunger. I considered ordering pizza but I knew I would be regretting it the day after as a small pizza would not do the trick. You see, I was ready to through a king sized munch! That is when burgers came to mind - I was not in the mood for grill'd as I was interested in a double meat creation along with an egg, bacon, etc. I remembered next door to Pressed Juice, I saw Humburger and told myself this was the place for a double meat creation. I walked into the shop and I found a clean store and a busy kitchen. I ordered a NEW YORKER which was my double meat and double cheese, etc burger. I ordered some fries as well and used all of my will to stay away from the amazing brownies I saw on the counter! I took the order home and enjoyed the flavor. The fries were fresh and sprinkled with paprika and other spices -- good stuff! Now, the burger may not keep me from grill'd, but I do know I will return in the future when just a single burger patties will not do! read more

I had a bit of trepidation of trying out Humburger, but after seeing numerous juicy burgers posted on Instagram I figured I should probably make the effort to check it out, especially if I call myself a bit of a burger connoisseur. The first thing I do when judging a burger joint is its price. Anything over about $15 these days means your either at an RSL, somewhere delusional or Merrywell. (Note: check out my burger list - the majority have ridiculously good burgers around $10, hence why $15 is paying way overs). Upon entry, my excitement did die down a little when the cheapest eatable burger (I'm not going to include the meat, lettuce and cheese version as that's barely a burger) was about $12, and the double was hitting that $15. And chips was an additional $4... As per my usual burger outing, I ordered the double variety. The burger itself was alright, quite tasty although I felt like I had visited the Dead Sea (or Red Sea, which ever one has heaps of salt). Chips weren't bad, but you'd hope so for $4. I'm not sure I'd head there again soon, but would be okay to if someone else insisted. Especially when you have Le Grill down the road and a new Huxtaburger opening early next year, dropping their prices a few dollars would make them a bit more competitive! read more

Tonight was my second visit to Hamburger but my first time actually trying the burgers! And I think I can safely say the burgers are solid! I was with a group of around 8 people and they all seemed to agree! Unfortunately there are a few downsides to dining here that I thought lost me a couple of stars in the rating: its cash only; burger, fries and soft drink cost me just over $20 which I feel is a little steep for the level of service (had to ask for water); and the fries were only average (tasty, just nothing special). So to sum up, I think I'd definitely be back if I wanted a solid burger on the go, but not if I want a place to have dinner at! read more

Based on fellow yelpers' reviews here I decided to give this place a go during lunch. It was as described and I'm still full 6 hrs later. I ordered the New Yorker, fries and shake. For $14 dorrahs... this burger is on par with Chew Burgers on value, taste and size! All the other joints are just too small to call a burger! eg. Huxtaburger, Mr Burger etc. a burger experience in my mind is one where u look at it and u know ur in for a treat! The New Yorker was a double large patty on bacon and brioche bun. With cheese etc. it's a handful with sauce dripping if not handled properly. Not too much that it drowns the flavours but sufficient for u to enjoy it as a complementing taste sensation. The burger was flawless in taste and presentation. A colleague even commented: "it looks like a burger u see in ads and photos that u never really get after you've bought it"... Make sure u r hungry when u order this. It is a decent meal by itself. The only thing I could suggest is if the patties were flame grilled with that flame grilled flavour. We've waited for this. Really waited. Watching carefully the renovations take place behind only the promise of a neon sign humburger. This could only be good. And finally an appropriately hung over day arrived, where we were functional but craved dude food more than Miley Cyrus craves publicity. And..... It was closed. New Year's Day it was, our bleary minds had made a serious misjudgment. And so it was almost two months later we plotted our return. There is a choice of about 7 burgers with various add ins, paying an extra dollar each for tomato and lettuce sold this place short of epic burger territory. The buns are the perfect home for juicy patty, cheese and a super sweet pickle. Fries are $4 for a regular serve and $8 for Parmesan truffle serve. $2 extra for dipping sauces, the limo mayo presents like slime, so so green! Plenty of seating, beers and wine aplenty. I think this place demolishes grilled and with a few tweaks, eg pickle and $ for lettuce it's got my two thumbs up. read more
