4 out of 5 stars, very impressed. Everything was of a pretty good quality and also the customer service was good and friendly. So overall it was a wonderful experience. The cream soda was smooth and easy going and at a good price. The onion rings were light, quirky and unusual, took a while to get used to it, but it grew on me. Chicken wings were crispy and nice, not the biggest wings but the quality made up for its lack of size. Burger was nice as well. Sauces were different and interesting, and also they were at completely different sides of the field. BBQ was sweet, strong and tangy, while the orange one was light, easy and subtle. Chips were of a perfect size and quantity Everything had a mild American taste to it, if that makes sense. It was so good I would come back again, I don't have a bad word to say, nothing dissapointed me. And the atmosphere, layout and restaurant decorations were fantastic as well. Good times. read more

Really tasty burgers. Cooked really well and not greasy at all. Gad the pop corn chicken in the side-excellent!!! Great atmosphere and could not believe how busy it was for 5pm on a Sunday night. Really relaxed atmosphere. Staff friendly. Took a little while fir our burgers to come out but definitely will be going back. read more

It's good but not the best. Fat Bobs was like a supersized Aussie Burger from a decent chippie at a local. Don't get me wrong it tastes great and I love a good ol Aussie burger. But the landscape of the burger comp has changed. It is not on par with some of the other top burger joints around town at this price point. But if u want a huge n hearty burger. This is the one. The sunnyside egg will drool past the bun so be prepared. Lean forward and eat it over the table. I won't tell u what happened to me :) The Jackie O was good too but again nothing worthy of a return visit. Very ordinary. Great burgers. The location is a bit surprising and we nearly walked right past before we saw it (we were following the curve of the road). I'm glad we didn't mss it because the burgers are top notch and the atmosphere is very relaxed. For a Saturday lunch in what I've always thought of as a very industrial street there were a lot of other customers. I can see this one becoming a bit of a regular when we're in the area. read more

There are a few more choices and even a vegetarian burger I have yet to try. The others are still too good to go past. My entourage has been here 5 times. It's consistently great. We were in the area one weekend to go to the 2 Brothers Brewery nearby and spotted a massive, bright sign marking the spot where Fat Bob's Bar & Grill is. Our curiosity got the better of us a few weeks later and we are certainly glad it did! Once you go down the alleyway, past the flashy hot rods and the giant sign, you walk into dazzling space with vintage signs filling up every wall and ceiling space they can find. We spent most of our time there staring (mouth agape) at the collection! Fat Bob's does burgers and does them well. They have a good selection of different flavours and cater for the some requirements (gluten-free buns available, vegetarian burgers too). We both had the 'Jackie O' and all up it was a delicious, well-rounded burger. My only gripe is that they could have been rarer, as the menu had the burgers down as medium and ours came out quite well done. I still loved my burger, regardless! So overall, I'd say that Fat Bob's has become my favourite sort-of local. I can't wait to keep returning for my American style burger fix! read more

What an unusual place to find a burger venue. They have online booking until 3:00pm that day, and after that you need to call for availability. We spoke to a lovely lady on the phone and ended up just popping down for a table. We were greeted by a friendly staff member that found us a table in the lane way. If you get bored with the company you're with there is certainly enough to keep you entertained on the walls with all the old signs and memorabilia. Inside is just as jammed packed and really suits the theme of the place. I can understand why they don't do Take Away - they don't need too! The restaurant just kept turning over and they kept up with the demand - and this was mid-week. What would it be like on the weekend? We ordered sides first and was very happy with the food. I ordered the Hudson burger and made two changes to the fillings and they were more than happy to accommodate the changes. The Burgers were fresh, BIG and filling. Maybe we should have held off on the sides? They have a wide range of alcoholic beverages and we tried a few we'd never had before - but they'll be on the regular list now. Overall a great experience and certainly somewhere we'd recommend and go to again. Next time we'd like to try inside to see if the atmosphere is as good as outside. Try it out... read more

Terrible service, rude and inattentive staff. Stupidly expensive and over complicated menu. My bacon was spoiled and there was so much sickly sweet onion on the burger it completely overtook anything else. Also, $10 for a can of beer?! Confused theme, uncomfortable chairs etc. Do not recommend. Go to Big Pig around the corner. Much better food and the staff care you exist. read more

Placed is decked out with cool signage and looks relaxed. Burgers are around the $16-$20 mark and your standard chunky beef pattie with extras. Good :) Zucchini fries were pretty oily - seemed like deep fried batter that soaked up oil. Chips were piping hot! Which was great but nothing amazeballs. Just good. read more

What an odd place. First its in the middle of no where, secondly when you find it you will ask what the. Then you head down the side of the factory you find this great unique style Food production facility. I would't say its a restaurant, nor is it a diner. But its is fun. Open to anyone Fat Bob's is great fun. I had one of the burgers and it was delicious, I can definitely see why it was soo highly rated. It was fantastic, loved the meal, loved the chips, loved the beer. Get your bum down there and enjoy this fantastic place. read more

Wow. I was not expecting this. Fat Bob's is mine and my family's number 1 choice for friendly staff and best of all, delicious burgers! As the staff were taking us to our table, we couldn't help but notice all the interior decorations. They really stood out to my family and I, in fact they are pretty hard to miss. We loved them. They gave Fat Bob's a real eye catcher, so if your driving down the road, you won't miss it! Fat Bobs is very busy, and I strongly believe it will always be busy. Due to the fact there burgers are amazing!! Apart from tasting amazing, the burgers are both fresh and filling.. So, when you go in, no need for sides!! Overall, Fat Bob's is my number one place to eat in due to the interior decorations, the food and the well-mannered staff! read more

Really enjoyed our meal & beers here last night! Annette was the lady I rang to book a table and she was lovely, very friendly. Our burgers were really good and the menu had a lot of options for both the burgers and lots of different beers. The young lady who served us was a delight (sorry I forgot her name but she was from California and was so nice chatting with her). This place really is a surprise!! In terms of location - it is a bit peculiar that it is the industrial part of Moorabbin. HOWEVER - don't let this fool you. I have now been there on 3 occasions, each time on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch (2pm ish). It is often busy, usually lots of families and kids. Their menu consists of burgers and American style snacks (chips, onion rings, chicken bites etc). The burgers are so tasty, and don't leave that greasy taste. I don't actually remember the name of the burger that I got but it had Chicken and Avocado and was wonderful. We also ordered some chips and onion rings to share and we all left very happy! The restaurant is an old warehouse, high ceiling, open space. The walls (and roof!) are covered in all sorts of signs (old neons, old tin signs etc) There are lots of tables, but I have heard it can get quite busy on Friday nights, so worth getting there early! This place really is worth a try for a unique experience with great food (if you like burgers, of course)! read more

They don't trust that you will pay so ask you to give them your credit card when ordering which they keep until you leave The double standard of them asking us to trust them with our credit card while they don't trust us is lost on them. Also, won't split bills. Won't be returning due to this lack of respect for their customers even though the burgers are ok. read more
