Great phone service and walk through. Then initial packing day, they didn't know they were packing so they had to go back to their office site and took an extra 1 hr to show, packed but didn't follow protocol, packed oils and detergents which spilled, broke, and damaged so many items! The employees took longer than intended lunch. When I asked them to not pack certain items, they did anyway. Damaged an iron bed that was in perfect condition because he couldn't figure out how to take it apart. Then moving day, got there late, they were incredibly irritated with items not being more packed even though it was their colleagues that packed. Moved items but damaged walls, scratched floors, and one bled on walls without cleaning said blood. They left items in previous home even though they told to bring it (carpets, boxes). I asked to put floor protectors on items coming in, they didn't. My floor has stains now because of this. I submitted a claim for reimbursement and it took over a month to hear back. Now it's been two months I am still finding issues with their work. read more

Recently completed an Interstate move with North American Van Lines. Our driver, Frankie was from the Humboldt agent. Couldn't have asked for a better driver! Frankie has excellent communication skills and truly cares about doing a great job. He was diligent with wrapping things and even heard him say to his helpers "we do this so this families belongings make it in the same way they left". He took time to prep floors, doorways, and walls on both the old and new home. Frankie is truly a rockstar and made our 18 hour move as stress free as possible! Everything made it perfectly because of him and the packing crew from our old state! 10/10 recommend Humboldt presuming their other folks are great like Frankie! THE WORST. Save yourself the money. This is my first and probably last review I have ever written however I feel compelled to let you all know DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY even if you are limited due to being in Humboldt County. Besides being expensive and unorganized all of which I could have dealt with they ruined four out of nine pieces of furniture I had them move. I was told they would cover my furniture up to .60 cents per pound which ended up being a lie. I have a concrete coffee table that weighs 1000 pounds they said they did not agree and paid me $34.00 for a ruined pottery barn concrete coffee table. Not to mention my kitchen table and console table all ruined. PLEASE save yourself the heartache of losing valuable furniture find some strong men and women friends and neighbors and have them help. read more

I lost my parents for months apart and needed to have their absolutely gorgeous grandfather clock moved into A temperature regulated storage shed. I was unaware that they had such a service; it was such a relief to watch them work. They were all very polite and professional, timely & thank used gloves when handling the grandfather clock, and it is a big one. I was impressed with their packaging & how amazing they did. when they completed the job, I was so happy with the job that they did with something that means so much to me and my family. I don't want to write this review. I don't like writing bad reviews. But I'd like to tell the public about our recent experience. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Humboldt Moving and storage. This is been a very chaotic few months for our family. We paid $13,000 to move from eureka to Texas. We booked Humboldt moving and storage with a promise to have our things from July 5th to July 13th. July 13th came and went, and it wasn't until weeks later that we received our items. Missing things. Broken things. Boxes looked like they had been thrown out of a moving vehicle at 100mph. (Good thing we are such great packers.) Little did we know, they never had a driver set up for us. Why would they promise us to have our things by a certain date if they didn't even have a driver in place yet? Our items showed up June 28th, 15 days after the cutoff. I can say more about this company but I don't want to drag them under the mud too much. My husband is a disabled USMC veteran that spent nearly a decade in the Corps. Anyone who is military knows were like professional movers because we do it so much. We have done countless military and civilian moves and we have never had such a terrible experience. There was extremely shady things happening, but it's Eureka so I'm not surprised. Do your research. If we would have known this was going to happen we would have done everything ourselves for half the price. But we wanted to support a local business one last time before moving. We're just upset and sad about the entire experience. Don't take advantage of your clients. Be honest. It doesn't have to be all about money... You need to explain your paperwork. What do codes mean? What does everything mean? I feel like my husband was taken advantage of because he is visually impaired and didn't see anything he was signing. Then i took over for him because it's easier for me to sign things. (No, I never read anything either. My fault.) But it's our fault for not asking what we're signing, right? But why on earth would we have thought otherwise? Why would we think shady things were happening? We're too trustworthy if other people, that is why. Obviously people have had good experiences. We were one of those families in 2016, and that's why we chose to give Humboldt moving and storage our money once again. We will forever be effected by this move. read more

Humboldt Moving offered the best price and their communication was great. There was no problem at the pick up location - everything was inventoried, labeled, and wrapped for protection. Upon delivery, the movers were very professional, careful, and knowledgeable about piano moving. They made sure that the path from the street to my living room was clear for a smooth move. They took very good care of moving, unpacking the piano and reassembling it, even laid down furniture pads on the floor for protection. The men who transported our piano today were courteous and efficient. The dispatcher who arranged the transport was not. We called several days in advance to arrange the pickup of a free piano. The dispatcher gave us a window between 9-10 in the morning. We spoke to her again to confirm the window on the day before transport. She told us we would receive a call to inform us that they were on their way. By 9:45 we hadn't rec'd a call so I contacted the office. She informed us that she had made a mistake and that they would be there by 11. Then she changed it to 'by noon'. I told her that this was unprofessional. Making a mistake once is a mistake but making it twice? That's either carelessness or ineptitude. She had me speak to her manager (owner?). He was apologetic but failed to explain how his dispatcher couldn't do her job correctly. The impression I got was of someone irritated that I had interrupted her game of solitaire on the company computer. The actual service? Very good. Just make sure you write everything down and confirm twice and three times. read more

I was hospitalized after I lost control of my bodily functions. Staff called 911. I left a bis soiled mess, so the carpet had to be replaced. I was in the hospital for a month and a half. Humboldt movers and d boxed up my stuff, and all the furniture, so that yhe carpet contractors had room to move Anyway, I returned long later, and found stacks ob boxed full of my belongings all jumbled. They had ransacked and raided the kitchen. The contents of my desk are missing. They left a sinful of dirty dishes. They finished off my liquor stash, left way oversize soiled c.lothing by my bed. All in al I am disatisfied with these useless actions. I am still trying to clean up the mess the made. A neighbor told me, they're the worst of the worst, the bottom of the barrel. She's not surprised that it looks like people were living here. I'm very displeased. I should file police repomrt. They tried to disassemble my wheelchair, and left the parts missing I give them a 1 very haphardous waste of time. And I owe $2000 for this!.arg read more

Humboldt Moving and Storage just recued me and got me out of a jam. When I moved from Pleasanton using a POD storage container I assumed that all I needed to do was call them when I found a house and they would just put it in my driveway. BUT when I let them know I bought a home in Blue Lake they just said they don't deliver here, and that I would have to drive nearly 6 hours (each way) to pick up the stuff myself. When I called Humboldt Moving and Storage they immediately understood instantly planning out my move. It was such a relief and they did an awesome job with a complex load of art, antiques, misc. things all tied in with a spiderweb of ropes. It was not cheap by any means but I feel the emergency instant service and quality of handling of my things was well worth every penny. They rescued my stuff quickly and efficiently sending 5 guys to unload here in Blue Lake. Thanks again guys. I moved from Eureka in Jan 2022. I had packing and moving services. The crew left before the job was done and left some of my belongings behind. This was a huge deal for me because I was moving out of the county. I had to have my realtor hold on to a cabinet until they could retrieve it and deliver it separately. They didn't deliver my belongings in the right order to the right places. And, they were supposed to pick up items from the destination and take back to Eureka. They said they "would take care of me". I've been 7 months for that pick up and delivery back to Eureka. They keep saying they will do it but never do. Not reliable. read more

Craig, our driver/mover was awesome. Very communicative and beyond accommodating for a bit of a challenging move. We moved from central California to Washington. While we warned the new owners of our house that we needed a few days window to be sure we could get out without complications, they showed up the day we moved out with their local (five-mile move) while Craig's crew was loading out. He took it all in stride and was very careful not to load their crap while carefully loading our nice art and electronics, etc. He delivered it to us in Washington on the day/time he said he would despite it being winter and snow. He is a total pro and I would ask for him if you are making a western states move (he works only in the western states)! Humboldt Moving and Storage is the most unprofessional and dishonest company I have ever done business with. I would caution anyone considering moving in/from/to Humboldt County to take their business elsewhere. My items were finally delivered to me at my destination on Wednesday September 8, 2010. They were packed and loaded by Humboldt Moving and Storage on Wednesday August 11, 2010. It took a FULL MONTH to get my belongings. So, if you are looking to get your furniture and other items delivered to you on-time, take your business somewhere else. That being said, the lateness of my shipment wasn't even my biggest issue with them. It was their consistently dishonest and deceitful customer service practices. The best example of this being the eight, yes, EIGHT, separate times I called them for a status check on my move and they failed to return my phone calls. Each time I called in the employees, specifically John Gierek, Jeannine, and Steve Sehon, promised me a call back. Out of eight such requests, I did not receive a return phone call. Not returning a customer's call when one is expressly asked for is improper and unethical in all situations. When I spoke with John Gierek about this issue he made vague excuses but never explained why the calls were not returned and never once apologized. His took zero ownership of the issue and showed no courtesy to me as a customer. Mistakes happen, and delays are usual in the moving business. But a company who doesn't take responsibility for their actions, or lack of action, is untrustworthy and dishonest. If you are looking for a moving company that communicates open and sincerely with their customers you should take your business somewhere else. My wish is that no one else has to go through the anguish that I did in dealing with this atrocious company and their unscrupulous employees. read more

WARNING!!! Do not trust this company with your belongings. They are the most dishonest, non-communicative, and worst movers we have ever encountered. We were moving out of Humboldt County (good riddance)., but didn't know where we would settle so we asked Humboldt Moving & Storage (a United Van Lines agent)to store our belongings and we would call for them we when landed somewhere. We signed an estimated contract, with the sales manager Garrett Sehon, for 5700 pounds to deliver it to storage with a monthly fee to be paid for storage. It was stored up by them and we had NO ACCESS to our stuff to add anything to it. One month later, we contacted them with a place we were going to move and suddenly the weight jumped to 6500 pounds. We accepted that weight, even though within the paperwork it gave a confirmed weight of 5645.5. Yup, it was that exact! We ended up not moving to that place, so we called Humboldt and canceled. We started getting a really bad feeling about this company so we rented a storage unit in Arizona and once again called for our stuff. Once again we called for delivery and surprise! Our shipment weight was now 8000 pounds! We hit the roof and the sales manager Garrett Sehon came up with an excuse about now thinking it weighed more. He admitted he was just "guessing" and it weighed more than he previously estimated. He actually thought it was 10,000 pounds and threatened to "take it to the scale and charge us even more". Under protest, he lowered the weight to 7500 pounds (still guessing).We had no choice but, to pay it. He even forced us to prepay even though we had been previously offered COD terms. Finally, our stuff was on it's way, but wait no! When our stuff was delivered the delivery guys only had a partial shipment. We never authorized this or even informed in advance. More lies to follow with multiple promises for the balance of the delivery. It was only after the headquarters for United Van Lines in Missouri got involved, was our stuff sent. We have requested the payment for services be adjusted back to 6500 pounds as we originally agreed. Both Garrett Sehon of Humboldt Moving and Peggy Wittrock with Unigroup/United/Mayflower have denied our request, but we are not done! We have all the emails and paperwork to prove our case. Their motto is "straight talk contracts". More like double talk contracts. If you need or have to move, don't call Humboldt Moving & Storage. They are crooked. You have been warned!!! read more

The service we received from van operators Henry & Isiash (father/son team) was the best I have ever experienced and I have moved quite a bit due to my job relocations.
