The place for fruit, crumble, and custard lovers. Both of us went for the Build Your Own Crumble. We had wanted to get the Frozen Vanilla Custard topping but sadly it was already sold out. A regular BYO Crumble is £6.5 and a large is £8. Just the crumble topping and custard by themselves are sold separately as well. The menu additionally includes a couple of tea drinks.
For the fruit base, we picked their special Iced Peaches - peaches served in maple, cinnamon & brown sugar - that is served chilled. We upgraded the crumble to the Superfood Granola for £0.50: oats, hazelnuts, almonds, sunflower & pumpkin seeds, golden linseeds, cardamom, ground pistachios, goji berries and maple syrup.
My brother picked the Yoghurt topping of Greek yogurt and coconut. I opted in to the hot Pure Vanilla Custard along with an additional topping of Dark Chocolate Drizzle for £0.50. At the end, you can choose to have hazelnut, almond flakes, and dried rose petals sprinkled on top.
Overall the dessert was tasty and not too sweet. Peaches were soft with a notable cinnamon spice, the granola brought in different flavors and a crunchy texture, and the custard was warm and smooth. It paired nicely with the drizzled chocolate and all of the extra toppings.
The business is a stall located in the Old Spitalfields Market, which looked like it would have been a neat market to explore. A line was already there when we arrived near 7 PM on Sunday, an hour prior to closing time, and grew even longer during our twenty minute wait. The market has public Wi-Fi. There is no dedicated seating so we ate our desserts while walking. read more
