    cold custard on crumble!
    Martin M.

A great place to get a quick crumble in London. We went here for dessert and the dish was hot and sweet. The combination of hot custard and hot pie was so good, yet a bit heavy. Service was also very nice and helpful in explaining all that goes into the dish. I'm sure everyone visiting the stall was a tourist because the staff took the time to explain the dish with everyone who walked up. Definitely worth a stop when checking out the Borough Market!

This is definitely one of the popular stalls within Old Spitalfields Market. There was a line of at least 5 people when I walked towards it. To order, you choose a fruit as the base, then the crumble, and lastly a topping. I chose apples, shortbread crumble, vanilla custard and chopped hazelnuts. This is definitely a treat to try if you're in the area. It has a unique texture of soft fruits, hard shortbread mixed with very warm custard. I didn't mind it but I will say my combination was not sweet at all. I would've preferred if maybe the custard had more vanilla flavoring or perhaps sugar but I didn't miss out on that too much. I would def recommend trying. I ordered the regular size and it was enough for trying for the first time without having too much.

Had to stop here twice while visiting London cause it was just that good! Love this concept. I had the apple cinnamon with short bread crumble and warm custard. That warm custard on a cold evening is like a hug The ladies that prepare the desserts were all smiles both times I went super nice. We were able to find a bench to sit at and enjoy.

I don't understand the hype. It's alright nothing that great. The crumbles are very very crunchy I was expecting a more gram cracker vibes but it's like more of a toffee feel which is weird. The custard is the best part and it was very quick to come out.

Decided to try this place after seeing so much hype online and was disappointed. It's pretty much your basic crumble. I ordered the apple topped with shortbread and custard, and it wasn't worth the 20-minute wait to order. Save your money and time and try another one of the treats available at Old Spitalfields Market.

Apple hot custard 6.12/10- this is incredibly popular and I've been waiting to try this but it had too many things happening all at once. It tastes like warm bread pudding mixed with broken up apple pie and hot custard but not in a great way. Very creamy but a bit too sweet. A1 presentation though

The custard and shortbread were delicious but I got hot apple at the bottom and it didn't really have any flavor. It was an okay sweet snack.

Interesting sweets in my opinion but i am not really a fan of sweets. But it would be awesome for those who like sweets. Recommended to try and maybe i would come back again to try its other menu since it is interesting even though i am not a sweet person.

Great if you don't sub for dairy-free. Can't believe they gave a paying customer this.

Can't say I am all that impressed though. Red Velvet Cupcake - The frosting is so sweet and the Cake a little on the dry side. I like my Cakes to be moist. They're pricey too at £2.65 a pop. I thought paying the equivalent of £1.90 - £2.20 a Cupcake was a lot in California but I can't say I didn't expect it here in Britain as everything is more expensive. I do like the location of the Bakery, right near where my Hubby used to work and less than a mile from our beloved Thai Van (best Yellow Chicken Curry in The City btw!). Aside from the regular sized Cupcakes they also sell mini Cupcakes (£1.35) Brownies (£2.50-$3.75) and Whoopie Pies (£3.25) as well as whole Cakes from Sponge (£22 upwards) to Cheesecake (£26) and Pies (Pumpkin, Pecan, Mississippi Mud (£32-£36) ect. *There are also 3 other locations around London with the newest being in Islington in the Angel Building as well as a Food Truck (look at me becoming all ''American'').. or Van I guess I should be calling it that serves local Festivals.

I initially wanted/ordered a particular cake, after paying for it they realised they didn't actually have it in stock and when I said, to just leave it and asked to have my money back as I felt none of the other cakes were appropriate for my brother they, they refused saying that when a transaction has gone through on the till they cannot return the money. So finally I had to settle on a different cake which had to be re-iced in order to make it suitable. The cake looked pretty good, but to be honest it isn't that hard to make chocolate look good. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed would've been better off buying an Iceland's gateau. The cake was stale, I can only imagine how long it had been since it was made. Admittedly the icing wasn't terrible but the cake was so bad that my brother who would usually eat anything, including my awful cooking couldn't stomach more than two spoonfuls. Everyone that was served the cake ended up throwing it away, we still had half the cake left which also had to be thrown away. Waste of money. If you're looking for a cake from an asian store you're better off going to Banoful across the road from this place, or better yet my personal favourite - Patisserie Valerie in Spitafields is a good choice, definitely worth the money.

On my last visit, a coworker told me about this little gem, which is not far from Lloyd's. It was a freezing cold day, I didn't have a coat, but I still went on the journey to Konditor & Cook. If you go I highly recommend the Boston Brownie, Raspberry Chequerboard Cake and the Millionaire Shortbread from the bakery. My only issue: Take the mushrooms out of the Mac n Cheese!
