Been going here since I was a kid. Great quiet beach... Recently there have been a lot more rocks and seaweed than in years past though :( Also! this is a private beach for people who live in Humarock only! There is nowhere to park for public beach access. Keep that in mind! read more

Where the F is Humarock?? Look it up and Check it out sometime. Most of the beach is private along central Ave but they do have a public parking area and beach area. It is rocky getting close to the water so wear flip flops. It's quaint and worth a visit to relax and explore a different beach . read more

Bizarro vibes... Parking is $20 on a quiet Sunday... Get a grip!! There's no restaurants and nowhere to sit on the beach that isn't painfully rocky. Convenience store was very 70's and smelled bad, greasy and unclean. We were blown away by the lack of food options / fresh takeout in the area.... Pub was a 40 min wait for food but nobody sitting in the booths. There's a very dated old motel down the street that does guest check ins at the same desk they seat you for the restaurant. Ghost town / economically depressed post pandemic feel. Million dollar homes on the water felt out of place with the environment they're in. And that's about it folks....... You're better off driving the extra miles to get to Dux Beach read more

Beautiful beach, beautiful area. There's a bridge I saw ppl jump off of. Perfect waves, not too big or too small. The beach is rocky, but close to the shore is sandy and that is where everyone sat. The drive to the beach is pleasantly scenic. However, I was really upset to drive all the way there to find out that there is NO PARKING!!! I'm pretty sure that this is a private beach. I think there is a public parking area but it was a 15 min drive from the beach. If I'm mistaken that there is parking for this beach then please, MAKE IT BE KNOWN. Also- I came here at the beginning of June, 85 degree hot weather, but the water was freezing. So cold that I swear nobody at the beach was swimming. read more

Love this beach! It's so pretty. It is really big too. There is little restaurant and ice cream shop and a gift shop too. Worth a visit. read more

Humarock is one of my favorite beaches. It is private so it's basically lined with people renting houses for the summer. Be prepared to park at someone you know's house or walk a bit -- I believe there are some paid parking options but Idk the details because I've never had to pay to park there. It is very serene and clean. The water is GORGEOUS and very clear and clean. The sand is very soft and supple. I find Humarock extremely relaxing for a day of tanning and swimming. There tend to be wide pockets between people/families so you have a lot of space and privacy to enjoy your day. read more

Humarock Beach - Clean sand, clear water, beautiful sky. No filter. - Parks Near Me - Humarock, Massachusetts

So, Humarock *sounds* great, & the area is breathtakingly pretty. That said, I couldn't find any way for someone who'd just driven down for the day to park. (I'm tempted to give Humarock two stars for that detail, but if I lived there I'd probably go at least 4 stars for the same reason, so I'm averaging to 3 stars. :P) If you want to check this place out, here are the options I was able to find for parking: 1) Buy a house on Humarock. There are at least a half-dozen for sale right now (mid-July 2016), & you can probably make decent money renting it out on Airbnb or Homeaway when you're not there in the summer. (Hell, you could probably make decent money just renting out your driveway on a daily basis.) 2) Rent a house on Humarock. A few have signs up advertising that they can be rented; also check Airbnb & Homeaway. :P 3) I did find *one* small parking lot, but it requires a Town of Scituate beach parking pass. "A limited number" of said beach passes are available to non-residents of Scituate; they are $75 per year for just the Humarock lot and $200 for all the Scituate beach lots. Far as I could tell you have to buy these in Scituate; they're not sold at the lot. (I'd consider this option for next year if I could manage to sample the beach in question ahead of time.) 4) Park somewhere on the other side of South River & then walk (or bike) over to Humarock--which is a pain if you're carrying chairs (this seems to be more of a chair beach than a towel beach), but hey. It *might* be possible to park in the little boat launch lot directly across the river in Marshfield (at Ridge Rd & Ferry St; daily rate is $7 in-state plates / $21 out-of-state plates), but no idea if they sell parking to people without boats. And, yeah, don't even bother trying to park on Humarock itself: Every last street is marked "private way" or "no parking either side." Hmph. read more

We love Humarock Beach. Can't beat the $5 parking. As long as you get there by 10am or so, spaces to park. Better than the $25 at other beaches like Singing or Wingaersheek. Not a huge beachfront, especially at high tide (try to go at low tide if you can). Somewhat rocky too. But our kids (1 and 3) love it, playing in the sand, piling up little rocks and beachcombing. Technically in Scituate, although you drive through Marshfield until the final bridge. read more

A nice relaxing beach with Cape flavor.. without the long drive all the way down the cape. I really like the small town feel of this beach and how you seem to be able to walk forever along the shore. Good for sunbathing, swimming if you're into the ocean, & I am pretty sure I have seen surfers at least a couple times! The only downside is the public parking area is pretty small! Close to Sands End Cafe & a really cute ice cream stand! The website above has a good "Finding Humarock" link to help you on your way! read more

Pretty decent beach with a really bad parking situation. Not a lot of public parking. Better beach than more well known Nantasket Beach but without a big parking area. There is a nearby gift store to buy snacks and t-shirts etc. Summary: Nice little beach but lack of public parking lowers what should be 3 and a half stars to four stars down to a 2 star rating. read more

The rocks suck. Otherwise it's gorgeous. We were there late at night. I'd like to go back in the day. I'm an avid beach goer and I'd really have to go back when there are no rocks. read more

Humarock is what a beach should be, miles of sand and water to walk along. Sure it has a lot of rocks in places and the water tends to be a bit on the cool side, it is large enough to always find a good spot if you're willing to walk a bit. Quiet and less crowded than a lot of beaches, it has an upper cape feel to it, especially in the off season. During the summer parking can be a problem but if you get creative and have bikes there are places to park nearby that will allow you to bike to the beach. A great place to visit anytime of the year. read more

Awesome beach! Great alternative to other nearby beaches that are usually overcrowded.

This is a wonderful beach for families. My husband's family rents a home on this beach, and we have been several times. The kids love it. They paint the rocks close to the home and build sand castles close to the beach. The water is very cold for me, but it did not bother my husband and 1 year old in the slightest. The older kids love to buggy board. There is a public beach area, but typically the beaches are not overly crowded. I see open parking spots early in the morning and in the evening. The ice cream stand is delicious. The gift store is quaint and charming. The Bridgewaye Inn has delicious seafood, but it can get crowded. They have great pizzas that you quickly can take to go. I am trying to convince my family to rent a home here as well. It is a great vacation spot that is an easy commute from Boston. read more

A great place to go to the beach for maybe a day trip or if you are just looking to get out of the house

Great beach. Though the water is FREEZING right now, this beach is great. It seems never ending and since I like to take walks on the beach this is perfect. There is some public parking, but is limited at 1 hour (not sure how often they check). Also, there was a $5 lot. Not over crowded. A bit rocky, but there are sandy spots. You have to walk a ways to get to an area where you can go in the water at a sandy spot. read more

Great beach, rocky towards the land sandy towards the water. Gets deep more quickly than other beaches and the waves can be big...depending. not crowded and guarded. Limited parking but no stars lost for it. Great homely atmosphere, and the bathers have class unlike revere beach. Mostly people who are renting. Much warmer water temps than north shore beaches. In traffic can take more than an hour from Boston but well worth it. read more

Can't they take the "rock" out of Humarock? It's hard to find a patch of sand anywhere close to high tide...

Used to visit here often with a person in my past life. His mom had a house on the beach so visits were plentiful. The ocean is full of rocks (hence the name) so it makes it hard to enjoy a day on the beach. Albeit, a friendly and quaint place -- I enjoyed visiting with his family more then the beach itself. I'm choking it up to the fact that I'm a Cali gal and am a bit spoiled by the beaches on the pacific side (read: W/Best Coast). read more

Good points: small town atmosphere with gift shop and hot dog place. very "50's". When tide is out, there's an acceptable amount of beach, but as tide comes in, you're pushed right back against the rocky part of the beach. Without shoes, it's painful! Negatives: there are 2 porta pottys in the parking lot and that's it for bathroom facilities. I looked in them and to say they were horrific is an understatement! It's pretty obvious that the people who own houses along the beach want to keep it as is, without large crowds, thus the lack of facilities, parking, etc. Everything considered, I'd give it a 50/50 as to whether I'd return. read more

Humarock's a great beach, the only decent one in Scituate. There's a store and facilities. Very little parking though for outsiders.
