Nice walking spot on the ocean, mostly flat. Bathrooms near the parking area. A couple small beaches! Good place to walk the dog!

One of many beautiful sunsets seen at Webb Memorial State Park

This park is gorgeous & offers so many scenic views. I love to go here to watch the sunset since it overlooks Boston across the Weymouth Fore River. Compared to some parks in the area, this one is moderately quiet & even during its busiest hours (from 12-4pm) I still think it's empty enough to peacefully enjoy the scenery. This is definitely a park to have a picnic at since it has many open grass areas and a clean beach. It even includes grills where you can bring charcoal and have a cook out on. It's a wonderful park and one of the best in the south shore. The BEST sunset seeing spot in the park would definitely be the end of the peninsula where the land drops off right over a rocky shore overlooking the ocean & Boston. The spot has benches but also a grassy area beyond the fence where I like to lay down a blanket and relax. They keep this park clean & neat which is always a bonus when exploring a new place. If you're interested in the beach, it's pretty nice. It's not as sandy as Wessagusset down the street but it's still a good place to dip your toes in the water & bathe in the sun. Overall, this is a great park to spend a day at with your family or even just by yourself.

I went here earlier today and it was absolutely gorgeous! This place is straight up 5 stars. There are great paths and a beautiful beach line to walk down. It's an amazing place to watch the sunset! It's also dog friendly and there are a lot of people with their pups walking around.

Up for a casual stroll on a nice day? Webb Memorial State Park does the trick. Family day, dog walking - whateva it may be! Of course, for me it's neither. Just wanted to enjoy a nice, sunny fall day. I took a stroll down the pebbled path around the park along with my SLR. There are other trails too that aren't stroller proof but I didn't wonder off into those since it was just me, myself and I. Nice view of the Boston Skyline and Harbor Islands by the 'cliff.' Too bad I can't zoom in good enough. At least I didn't accidentally all down a 15' drop at the edge when I was trying to capture the skyline!

This park is gorgeous! It's a photographer's dream! I've been here in all 4 seasons. On warm winter days (due to climate change) I came here often in 2012. It's lovely in summer. You can watch the fireworks from the cliff, as long as u bring lots & lots of bug spray because at night it's crawling with mosquitoes. There's various trails, lots of shorelines. you can see Boston from the shore, and especially from the cliff. there's benches, a picnic area. There's a parking lot. If you wanted to have your own costume party, picnic, or whatever, you could do that. And, you can walk to Wessagusset beach from there.

This is such a fantastic park, especially if you're a photographer. I did some portraits here and they came out beautifully. There is a huge variety of landscapes, from fields to trees to beach, all in one park. If you walk all the way to the end of the park, there is an amazing view of Boston. Definitely a great place to bring kids or dogs, or even just go for a walk.

Ask the Community - Webb Memorial State Park

Hello is there another parking lot? I saw the park entrance parking. Seems there was like 20 parking spaces. Pretty small parking lot. Thank you

Not really sure where your talking about but the parking lot where the bathrooms are is way more than 20 spots! It's circular and goes in a loop. You can park anywhere in there. But it does fill up on a nice day!

    Are there public restrooms?

    Yes

Hours of Operation and Parking Information according to the website: Entrance gates open at 9:00 am and will close at posted time in the park.  The entrance gates are closed all day on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. From Weymouth, vehicle parking is available in the parking lot off Summer Street.  From Braintree, vehicle parking is available in the upper lots near the park office, and the lower lots near the start of the bike path. We arrived from the Braintree side and the time posted at the gate was 9am - 4:15pm. No trespassing after dark. We noticed parking by a covered picnic table area and jumped on the paved walking path from there. The path was divided by paint. Bikes, rollerblades, skateboards to the left and clockwise one way around the pond, pedestrians to the right, though the paint line disappeared after a while. I appreciated the paved path since it kept us from walking on the grass, and hopefully away from the ticks that some posted signs by the map were warning us about. We only went 15 minutes in before turning around, but found it pleasant but hilly, and ran across several other walking pairs - some with leashed dogs (in accordance to the rules), and no bikes. I did notice two bagged poop alongside the path though, one hanging from a tree at shoulder level. Watch the time if you come. Most of the parking was within the gates which will be locked at sunset. But if you walked in, you'll still be able to get out.

It isn't named that now, but everyone still calls it that, even tho' it's been renamed. The reason it was renamed Union Point was due to different towns having partial parts of them inside it, but it's generally South Weymouth. For years, you could still walk around, and take your pets here. There were some incredibly awesome high end playgrounds of the highest quality, but they are all fenced off now. Now, there are a lot of new roads, bike trails, foot hiking trails, and the canal that snakes throughout neighborhoods like Greentree, Gaslight Village, and other areas also runs through South Field which then flows into Weymouth Great Pond reservoir which is where all of the running water comes from. This canal also has a wide open section that resembles a small reservoir lake where wild life likes to haunt. There are a lot of types of wildlife lurking everywhere: wild turkey flocks, orals, gold finches, Eastern Coyotes, foxes, wild geese, sparrows, hawks, kestrels, blue jays, cardinals, robins, ducks, herons, cranes, seagulls, feral cats, lots of rabbits, skunks, and moles. Probably lots more, but those are the most common ones I've seen. The best times of year to shoot photography are on sunny days in the spring (which are rare) because the sakura cherry blossoms are in bloom. But hurry, because the rain comes out of nowhere and knocks the petals down quickly. Summer is pretty good as well, but you will get a different look earlier in the summer than middle and end. The fall is also a fantastic time to shoot photos. It's usually pretty warm in the fall as well. Some people tell me they like sledding here in the winter. But, I never do that. I don't like the cold. Unfortunately, there used to be shaded picnic tables by Shea Field Memorial Grove, but some cold heartless demon chained them upside down after Hurricane Sandy, and then finally got rid of them. So, no picnics for you guys! Hmph! But, there's a dog park with portable restrooms now, and you can also go to the Aircraft Hanger now called "The Hang Out" and get drunk if you have cash. There's events here every weekend. You can also ride your bike, and the set from "Ghost Busters" is around here as well.

There are no public restrooms, this year (2024) there didn't seem to be any bins for dog poop or trash, there is only one water station at the front. The good: With the exception of one family not checking their dog's resource guarding, every other dog we saw was so well behaved with responsible owners. Between the beach, the walking path, and the hill, there's so much opportunity to run out your pup! While we were a bit bummed that high tide took away the ability to walk the entirety of the peninsula on the beach, the water was clearer than it is during low tide, so we'd definitely recommend a high tide visit. After a little over an hour there, our German Shepherds were completely wiped out and even after the 40-minute ride home where they napped, they were still conked until dinner time.
