I met other people who had to surrender pets due to homelessness or lost job. although it's a kill shelter they do their absolute best to provide care in order to get these dogs adopted faster. they encourage people to foster and help these animals find home.

This is Fresno Animal Center. Not to be confused with Fresno Humane. Key difference is the…read morejurisdiction. FAC serves within Fresno city limits and Humane serves the county. They strictly abide by these rules. I can only comment on the services that I use here. I've received vouchers in the past and gotten animals fixed for $30. If I foster, I will come here and get them assessed, dewormed, vaccinated along with flea and tick preventative. This is free of cost since I'm taking the responsibility of fostering instead of leaving them there at the shelter. They also offer me free food but I decline so it can go to someone who really needs it. Foot traffic varies. I've been here half a day or sometimes it takes no time at all. They make it very clear to people who surrender and drop off that the animal is at risk of euthanasia. They are always at critical capacity so if you are looking for a companion I always encourage to adopt and not shop or alternatively, fill out their foster application as they are always looking for foster ppl to save more animals and all supplies are provided.

I'm sure I could buy less expensive food online but I prefer to purchase in person. I feel like they offer a bit more cat products since they moved to this location a couple years ago. I have been coming here for years for all my pets necessities. From shots to food to accessories,…read morethis is my go to place for my pets. They used to be located by the rail road tracks in what looked like a big red barn. The new location seems more spacious and a lot better IMO since it's not as cold and more parking. The service is always great cus the employees are always knowledgeable. They even have a rewards program with some dog food. I think it's buy 10 bags or buy 15 bags get the next free? Something like that. It has to be the same bag same weight tho. Still good if ur grabbing the same shit. The last time we went we changed our dogs dog food cus he was having bad allergies. There was a lady there that worked with the brand Red Barn (how funny I brought up red barn earlier lol) and she helped us out a lot. We ended up choosing that brand n got grain free and she gave us a $10 off coupon I forgot how much it was but that was deals... she also gave us a free canned food version and a coupon for the dry food topper for free. So we got all that for the discounted dog food price cus of the coupons. Fuckkn awesome man!!!

I can say nothing but amazing things about this place…read more I had taken my 10 year old Baby Girl, Mischa, a German Shepherd, there for unfortunately only 2 appointnents. Mischa was a very protective girl of me, her momma, and of course her grandpa. She wasn't too happy about being there, and with being sick at the same time, she definitely wasn't her usual smiley self. Dr. Reyes and her staff made her feel very, very comfortable. I was so happy with the way they cared for Mischa. They treated her as if she were their own. Mischa suffered from several medical issues that unfortunately began affecting her quality of life. As hard as it was, her grandpa and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go.Saying goodbye to Mischa was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make. Bianca, one of the technicians, was there to help Mischa on her last day. She made sure Mischa was comfortable and cared for, while also answering all of our questions and making sure we were comfortable as well. Bianca took us into a private room with Mischa so that we could have some alone time with her during her final moments. She never rushed us. We were able to take all the time we needed to say goodbye and spend those last moments with our girl. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Reyes, Bianca, and the entire staff for the compassion, kindness, and care they showed Mischa and our family. Saying goodbye to our Baby Girl was heartbreaking, but knowing she was comfortable, loved, and surrounded by us made those final moments a little easier. Thank you for treating our Mischa like she was your own.
