This is the dog I adopted and took back. She chewed on everything. Had ticks everywhere.

It was a nice experience overall but I returned a dog and still haven't received my refund. Paid for a tick treatment for a dog that didn't work and she had live ticks. They got all over my house.

Please come here to adopt, do not shop for a dog when you can get one here that HE HAS SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE all my puppies are from here and they are AMAZING

Management is horrible and harasses people, including me. I've been hung up on many times, while just asking simple questions. PLEASE, do not surrender your animals here! Reach out to rescues first! Always look for non profit rescues on Facebook. This shelter is very high kill and your animal will not make it out alive. All of the pictures below are animals killed at CCSPCA. Do not surrender your animals here ever!!!

Picked up our new baby yesterday, she was a stray and was in need of a loving home. So glad we were able to bring her home. We have two shepherds now. She seems like she was in an abusive home before, but is giving us a chance. Bella Girl This shelter does their very best to help these animals. It is the sweetest thing, no one is perfect but what they do for these animals is absolutely selfless.

They used to be located by the rail road tracks in what looked like a big red barn. The new location seems more spacious and a lot better IMO since it's not as cold and more parking. The service is always great cus the employees are always knowledgeable. They even have a rewards program with some dog food. I think it's buy 10 bags or buy 15 bags get the next free? Something like that. It has to be the same bag same weight tho. Still good if ur grabbing the same shit. The last time we went we changed our dogs dog food cus he was having bad allergies. There was a lady there that worked with the brand Red Barn (how funny I brought up red barn earlier lol) and she helped us out a lot. We ended up choosing that brand n got grain free and she gave us a $10 off coupon I forgot how much it was but that was deals... she also gave us a free canned food version and a coupon for the dry food topper for free. So we got all that for the discounted dog food price cus of the coupons. Fuckkn awesome man!!!

We also happened to stop at a random nearby park to eat lunch and let my kid play before we finish the last 3-4 hours of our trip. There was a skinny pit bull wandering around with a leash wrapped around its neck. A few people told me that someone had driven up to the park, opened the door, shoved it out and peeled off. This happened not 5 minutes before we got there. What is wrong with people!? No one and I mean NO ONE at the park wanted to take responsibility for it, and I simply could not leave it there. I took the dog to an Emergency Vet's office but of course it didn't have a microchip and they claimed they couldn't take it in, not even overnight until it could go to animal control the next day. So I'm STUCK! It's Easter Sunday so EVERYTHING is closed. It's already rough to try and get help on a Sunday, doubly so for Easter Sunday. I sat in the car with the dog and my young daughter and made at least 30 calls to every single vet's office, rescue, and animal organization I could find to try and find someone who could at least take the dog overnight until animal control opened the next day. I absolutely could not take the dog home with me on my road trip as we have a dog who doesn't get along with other dogs. Also, what if it turned out it wasn't the owners who pushed it out of the car, but someone else? Maybe the true owner was still looking? It wouldn't be fair to take it hundreds of miles away. 99% of the phone calls were not answered and the very few that did could not take a dog for one reason or another and referred me to animal control. I was getting desperate, I'd already spent two hours trying to find some place for this dog to go. I was beginning to think the unthinkable: that I'd have to just tie it up somewhere in the shade and call the police non emergency number to let them know about this dog. I had to get back on the road as I had a time commitment. I was so lucky that someone with Animal Compassion actually happened to answer the phone on Easter Sunday and doubly lucky that someone was there who could decide to take the dog for me. We were there in 15 minutes and they were able to take the dog and I'm so very grateful to them for helping out this sweet, abandoned soul. I hope she finds a good home. Thank you, Animal Compassion for really caring about animals!!

They strictly abide by these rules. I can only comment on the services that I use here. I've received vouchers in the past and gotten animals fixed for $30. If I foster, I will come here and get them assessed, dewormed, vaccinated along with flea and tick preventative. This is free of cost since I'm taking the responsibility of fostering instead of leaving them there at the shelter. They also offer me free food but I decline so it can go to someone who really needs it. Foot traffic varies. I've been here half a day or sometimes it takes no time at all. They make it very clear to people who surrender and drop off that the animal is at risk of euthanasia. They are always at critical capacity so if you are looking for a companion I always encourage to adopt and not shop or alternatively, fill out their foster application as they are always looking for foster ppl to save more animals and all supplies are provided.
