For the past 5 years Max and Mini have been our constant joy. If you are not sure about a pet, try fostering and they will work with you to make sure you get a good pet that fits your lifestyle. They may seem strict to some folks but this guarantees you get a good pet that has been fully vetted and works for you. Most fosters have come from surrenders or difficult homes and it takes a special heart and time to work to heal them. They explain where the pet comes from and what issues it may have if any. The costs with adoption vary depending on medical needs of each animal. This is a non profit and sometimes the vet bills are huge to get a pet back to health. For those they do special donation drives. I have two dogs from them, have donated when possible because I see the work they do. All animals are fostered not caged in a building. Each foster works with the pet until they are adopted. I feel blessed that this organization is so well run and so many get rescued.

They have a large, caring staff that begins with 3 vets. I have sought regular and emergency treatment for my dog multiple times over each year. I have always been very pleased withy their genuine concern and care. I recently experienced the end of my dog's 9 year life. I called IHPH , who was already aware of his condition, and said I was bringing him in. It was about 2pm. Dr. Edwards was waiting outside as I arrived and carried my dog inside to lay him gently on a thick rug. She, a vet tech and I sat on the floor with him and gently patted him as he passed. We all just sat there with him and I was never rushed to leave him. The entire staff, who had known my dog well, was in tears as I left that day. You cannot ask for more genuine caring and compassion than that.

This is the 2nd bad encounter with Dr. Gilley and his staff. First a couple of years ago we call…read morethe office and they said that our dogs would be seen if we were there by 4:30PM. We came all the way down from the Hammocks and arrived at 4:15PM and was told by an arrogant employee that we wouldn't be seen. There was a substitute Vet there and he didn't want to take anymore appointments. The employee could care less. I wrote Dr. Gilley a letter to him and his investors, that we had been customers of his for years when we used to live in Cutler Ridge. He call, was very gracious and apologized for the incident. So, after awhile we started taking our dogs back and everything was ok. They were supposed to take care of a hernia to one of our dogs when we spaded her. The lump still exists, and so, I think he didn't even do it. Maybe he was mad at use for telling our story. Maybe just over looked. Our dogs have acquired allergies, so we take them to him ever 4-6 months when they start scratching. They give them a shot, and the time before yesterday they didn't even charge us for Pebbles shot because as a Pomeranian she was so little with wasn't worth it. No Dr. office charge. Yesterday we asked just for the shots, told the receptionist as well as the person who came out to pick them up. He returned within 2 minutes. When we went to pay for the shots it was $73! After my wife came to the car and said how much it was I went in to ask, and the lady said that she had already talk to the doctor. We never saw the doctor and am not sure he was even there. Shots used to be $17 now they are $22 a 30% increase. So, they obviously do not care about the animals anymore, it's now like most doctors make as much money as you can, as fast as you can. Because if he did see them, at $29 for 2 minutes equals a $870 per hour rate. Dr. Gilley Your FIRED. My opinion is to stay away from this vet!
