I read through all of the reviews for Kittens Up and I texted a lot of questions to the number…read moreprovided. I received answers almost immediately each and every time. My heart was set on getting a black Devon Rex (to join my four cats) with a pixie face and Inky, now Aleister, fit the bill in the biggest way possible. Kittens Up sent me videos so I could see him playing and being lovey. I was smitten. I spent a lot of time considering all of my options along the way. I contacted several catteries in the US and Canada that were TICA, CFA, and, some, not affiliated at all. Some breeders were super nice, some had waiting lists into next year, and some were horrible at getting back, if they got back at all. Kittens Up was, hands down, the most patient and the most communicative. Only one highly rated TICA registered cattery, who consistently and clearly showed her cats living underfoot in her beautiful, cat-centered home on social media, had a black kitten. She sent pictures and a video showing her kitten but I noticed that both of his eyes looked weepy with infection. I thought back to so many of my rescues, often from foster situations, that developed pink eye and/or upper respiratory issues once they got to my house or arrived with distended stomachs full of worms. Cats get stressed; illnesses develop. It is pretty much par for the course where bringing a new cat into the home is concerned and I would have expected this to be the case with Aleister (although it wasn't) if he'd fallen ill after I took him home. (My guess is that those unfamiliar with cats' sensitive systems would have been unhappily surprised and felt the need to leave a negative review.) Kittens Up explained that they screened the kittens for days, with a veterinary checkup, before AND also after they arrived in America. The kitten wouldn't be released to me until all signs of illness, if any developed, had passed. That's more than I've ever gotten from a rescue so I decided to go for it. I placed my down payment on gorgeous Inky, whom I fell in love with from his pictures and videos (a point criticized in other people's stories on review sites but, again, with other cats I'd gone with far less - one picture and maybe a person's description - before adopting them from rescues), and realized only then that I had even more questions about his journey to the US. I (more than) half expected my questions not to be answered since I'd already put down my money. Rather, they *immediately, upon opening, called to talk to me that day to walk me through their entire process and encouraged me to call back, after Inky arrived, for a FaceTime with my new addition. When pick up week had arrived, I wrote to them a few times to check up on his health, how his neutering had gone, and how he was doing after his arrival to the US. They responded to me with thorough answers each time. When we arrived in Pembroke Pines to pick up our new elf of a kitten, I was so impressed upon seeing the Kittens Up store. It's incredibly clean, the cats are physically separated (unless they come over with siblings from their litter which I was grateful to know mine had), and everyone was in gorgeous, healthy shape. I was able to hold cuddly, socialized, little Aleister as soon as I arrived, through the paperwork, directions, and, finally, payment. (Their top priority was to make sure all would be well with my kitten.) I appreciate the transparency that Kittens Up provided. They care about and love their cats and want them to be as healthy, happy, and comfortable as possible. They were there every step of the way and told me they'd continue to be there if I needed them in the future. I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering a kitten of their dreams.

Liz was responsive via both email and phone, and was easy to communicate with. She confirmed when the trapping was successful and even sent pictures to show that the cat was safe and taken care of. I really appreciate her continued communication, especially since I don't even live in Florida and wouldn't otherwise have a way to check in on this. I believe she is running this on her own so if there is any delay in response, have some patience. Working in non-profit animal rescue is no simple task. Liz clearly has a love for cats and wants to help as many as she can.

I felt some guilt for being a bad owner, having had my dog for years and having never sought the help of a trainer. As the sessions went on, I got over my guilt and realized that my dog has more energy and is more engaged now that he has been trained-- rather than having a dog that dreads being asked to "do things" like sit and stay--I find that he loves the challenge and engagement--and is hungry for more! This is a new pet store but I'm sure they'll be here for a long time. There is definitely a boutique feel here but I love that feeling of an upscale pet store. It's not a huge space and parking is a little tight but there's parking on the street. The employee that helped me I forgot his name but he was very helpful and very knowledgeable about the products he sold. They have a little bit of everything from dog food, cat food, bedding and even spa treatments. I'm not in the area a lot but when I am and want to do some dog shopping I will definitely come here.
