I've taken a foundations class and a regular class here with two different instructors and they were all great. Randomly, I really enjoy the mints they have at the front desk (mint lifesavers... haven't had those in forever!). The only tricky thing about this studio is street parking can be a little rough, especially first Fridays and I think second (?) Tuesdays during street cleaning. Be sure to come a little early so you can find a spot and walk over!

I've tried multiple instructors & all were thorough & helpful. I especially loved cardio pilates to add a unique twist to the typical reformer workouts. The facility has a water machine if you ever need a refill or forgot to bring your bottle. The bathroom has lockers but they also have a shoe rack where you can store your items. Parking in the area is easy, for free parking, just park in the neighborhoods which are around the corner. Location is great especially if you are needing a coffee or smoothie post pilates class. Overall, I really love Mighty and hope they expand into the peninsula!

VITA has changed my life! I started out only going to "VITA on the go" outings (hikes,…read moremeditations), and then I started going to classes. I also did health coaching with the owner, Katy, and went to a talk offered by one of the Barre teachers. With these offerings, VITA has changed my relationship with my body for the better. I appreciate the holistic approach to health/exercise and the sweet community VITA has created. Every community needs a VITA in it. I'm so grateful that mine does!

It's always a plus when you can combine torture with pleasure. I love one-off workshop type events vs regularly scheduled programming so when I saw this event on the newsletter, I recruited my friends and off we went. Payment online is a little confusing as is finding and paying for the special events Vs the scheduled on their website. These are under the "soul" category. We did not have to bring anything to class, but towel and water were optional. The sticky mats were provided along with weights and stretching bands. There's even a water dispenser on the wall like they have in airports. The unisex restroom in the back is large and clean. It sits opposite of a daycare room. Parking is street parking or you can park at or take the BART and walk up a few blocks. I had been to vita when they first opened 6+ years ago for a Pilates/yoga/barre class. I remember it being hard, so katy, the owner, who teaches the power classes must have been teaching, and I hadn't been back until now! Make sure to wear your tank top because the room is heated and only gets steamier with the huffing bodies. Otherwise the studio is bright and clean. There is a little merchandise to buy at the front and cubbies for your stuff. We all wiped down our mats after class with the wipes provided. The acoustics are terrible so when the music is on, and people are talking before, and after it gets very that you have to shout. After the 45 minute class, a foldout table was set up in the middle of the room with cubes of cheese, bread, crackers, salami and cups of wine. There was plenty of wine and some nonalcoholic, but the food was wiped clean. The tasting was educational and Katy is as passionate about her cheese pairings as she is about her exercise.

If you're thinking about joining a gym for a fantastic workout and motivating community, stop…read morereading and go sign up with 9Round now! I've been going 2x a week for 6 months now and it's been such a life-saver for me. Before joining, I was struggling to get active again after having a baby -- who has the time and energy for exercise with one of those around? 9Round kicked all those excuses out! -- The location is so convenient; parking has never been an issue. -- The circuit-format is just perfect: no class times, just come in when it's good for you. -- Workouts are 30 minutes, and that flies by. -- Great for anyone new to kickboxing cardio (easy, fun!) with opportunity to build on those skills as you go. I purchased gloves and wraps after my intro session, but aside from that, the gym has everything you need. Including wonderful trainers! Dave is a real rockstar: kind, motivating, and watches out for your needs. All the trainers have been great, giving notes on form and encouraging you to push yourself when they know you can. The results speak for themselves: I have way more energy to keep up with a 2-year-old!

I've worked off the 20lbs I gained during Covid and feel stronger and more confident than ever, and it's all thanks to Dave and the incredible coaches at 9Round (shout out to Ovi)! A little background - I've exercised at a typical gym (24hr fitness, planet fitness, etc) most of my life. I fell off hard during Covid and was having so much trouble getting back into exercise. I had gained over 20lbs and my fitness and confidence were struggling. After failing to stay consistent with traditional gyms, I finally joined 9Round in January 2023. I'm so happy to say that I have stayed consistent for over a year now AND worked off my stubborn Covid weight and built muscle in the process, and am now happier and healthier than ever. So what makes the difference? 9Round is honestly just SO FUN in addition to being a great workout. You've never felt joy like punching a bag after a hard day's work. And getting to see your skills grow, your kicks land harder, and your punches more powerful? Incredible. I look forward to every gym session at 9Round, and the wonderful community the owner Dave and his coaches have built only adds to the experience. I love how excited they get to see everyone's' progress, the encouragement they give, and the helpful nutrition tips. A few other things - when I first joined 9Round I was stuck between them and Orangetheory Fitness. I tried both and decided to go with 9Round because of the flexibility of being able to drop in any time, which has been wonderful. What I didn't expect was how much the fun of kickboxing would add to the experience. If you're struggling to enjoy exercise, I would highly recommend going with 9Round, because the skill building aspect has honestly been a 10/10 for my motivation and happiness. Also worth noting is that no previous experience is required, and everyone is super friendly and encouraging for beginners. When I started I had no kickboxing experience - I could barely get 5 jump ropes in without tripping and my coordination on the bag was awful. Now I can jump rope 5 minutes straight with no trip ups and go rapid fire on the bag. The trainers are amazing about introducing you to the exercises and showing the proper form (including modifying the exercises if needed), so don't shy away if you've never kickboxed before! Dave also adds in so many wonderful extras at his location - he offers occasional drop-in classes for self-defense, yoga, Pilates, etc. In January he ran a 60-day challenge which included additional personal training and nutrition guidance which helped me drop my last 10 stubborn Covid pounds finally! He also has an In-Body machine so you can measure and track your muscle mass vs. body fat as you train, which is so much more valuable for tracking progress than weight alone! Anyhow, I could rant and rave all day about how amazing 9Round is, and specifically this 9Round location, but I think this sums up the major points. If you're curious, the first class is free so I'd highly recommend giving it a try!

They definitely get points from me for proximity and parking (you can easily cruise into a free spot if you take a 07:00AM class)! I've taken two of Emily's Barre Fit classes and really enjoyed both. She uses a variety of props in this class that keep things interesting: ankle bands, hand weights, balls and of course, the barre itself! I like the combination of dance, cardio and strength training. Whilst I sometimes have a harder time picking up certain bits in Bar Method and Dailey Method, I find Emily's teaching really meets me where I am. I can easily see myself being a regular in this clean, spare studio. I'm also really looking forward to getting on one of their six reformers. NOTES: - Grip socks are required for all classes so bring your own or buy some here - There are lockers at the back of the studio

I sprung on this deal, reformer classes are typically upwards of $30. After reading the descriptions of the classes available online, students with injuries are dissuaded into signing up for any pro or pro plus class, so I opted for the fit. There were not many timeslots available and ended up with one that was within a realistic hour I would actually wake up for. I was still late, blame it on the traffic, rain, my horrible walking and parking skills. Thanks for answering the phone during the class and directing me in the right direction. I got there finally, 15 minutes after the class started and the two other students were still doing mat work. What, I signed up for a reformer class, to use the expensive equipment I don't have at home, I didn't miss much. Throughout the rest of the class: -adjustments and instruction were always directed to the other two gals, I don't need a lot of attention, but seriously, I was chop liver -10 reps and then stretching?!? I didn't even break a sweat, please more continuous work The instructor at the end of the class was only interested in selling me more socks, hearing the good feedback and did not want to provide me any other airtime. Case in point, I let her know constructively, the class was a little slow for me and she had a gall to say 'anyway' and keep rattling on. What ego. Completely miffed.
