Justin and Julie are worth every single penny! At first, we thought about going with a cheaper wedding photographer but after our venue raved about hulse and many of our married friends told us that wedding photos are the one thing they wish they took more seriously... not gonna lie... I was still resistant. (I can be incredibly cheap sometimes). HOWEVER, when we sat down with them we could IMMEDIATELY tell they were the BEST. They knew about our venue, the best lighting at the time of day on our particular date- and we were completely sold. Their expertise in comparison to the other photographers we were considering was blatantly obvious. Today, almost a month after our wedding, we are beyond satisfied with our photos. They really captured us, our family and guests. I also loved how they seamlessly weaved into the event. I hate it when photographers are loud, obnoxious and in everyone's business- Nope not Justin and Julie. They made our photos gorgeous and effortless. We could not be more happy with the photos from Hulse Photography. When I look at the photos Justin took I seriously cannot believe that is us. They are spectacular! Both Julie and Justin were so great to work with. Really easy to communicate with and stayed in touch with us throughout the pandemic as we had to postpone our wedding not once but twice. These photos prove it was worth the wait. I don't know how Justin managed to get so many great shots because I really did not notice him. He blended into the event. It was just so seamless and natural. Never pushing guests aside to get a great shot. Down to earth, super nice guy with great suggestions for getting breathtaking photos at sunset. After visiting 13+ local wineries seeking our potential venue, we started to notice something...At nearly every single winery there were pictures on display and what did they all have in common? "Hulse Photo" branded on the bottom. Upon selecting our venue (see Gershon Bachus review), we were not surprised that "Hulse" was at the top of their list for preferred vendors. We reached out to them and set an appointment. Julie & Justin welcomed us into their home and even offered us a glass of champagne while we discussed things. We were sold. Now it's important to note that they were not the only photographers we interviewed, but they were the only ones that blew the competition out of the water by their attention to detail, care & warmth, and overall quality. Hired! Justin Hulse took our engagement photos which gave us an idea of how the wedding photos would go too and we were very pleased. I could not be happier with Hulse Photography! From the beginning they have been so easy to work with, and just did a spectacular job from start to finish!! Julie coordinated everything for us, and Justin was so much fun to be around and made us feel comfortable, which was great because neither my husband or I have previously been professionally photographed.  They were one of the recommended vendors at our Venue, Lake Oak Meadows, and choosing them to photograph us on the best day of our lives was one of the BEST decisions we made! We did both an engagement session with them and chose a weekday special for our wedding (we got married on a Thursday). Justin traveled to Coronado for our engagement session, and we let him know that we loved the night photos featured on their site, so he took photos of us at sunset and at night at 2 different locations on the Island - just above and beyond! We were really pleased with the photos and were so happy to have a chance to get to know Justin a bit before our big day! That was super helpful and made the wedding day that much easier.  For our wedding, Justin must have taken a bazillion photos, and the ones we received were outstanding! WOW!!!! We just received our photo gallery for our engagement session today and I cannot put into words how INCREDIBLE these photos came out!! Hulse Photography came recommended by our wedding venue, Wilson Creek Winery. Although they were a little above our budget, after meeting Julie and Justin at their home and viewing their amazing work, we agreed they were worth the extra splurge. What a FANTASTIC decision this was.Julie has been extremely responsive and professional since the day we met, always extremely organized and getting back to me right away. I am a little late in my review but still frustrated every time I look at my wedding pictures that I decided to come on here and post my review. I got married in 2012 and I still don't have one good picture of my husband and I looking at the camera. We have a great kissing photo and thats it. Our family pictures are terrible as we are all facing the sun and squinting so at least one out of the 5 of us is blinking. It wasn't a huge family, just the 5 of us! We should be able to trust the photographer to tell us what to do, but unfortunately, we should have spoken up and asked to have a different setting where we are not facing the sun. When we signed the contract, I assumed that I was going to get both Julie and Justin, but come the wedding day, it was just Julie and an assistant who was a beginner it seems as there are several bad shots she took. I keep reading reviews where justin climbed trees to get great shots, etc, but unfortunately we didn't get that because they double booked and assigned justin to another wedding as they think the money is more important that assigning both justin and julie to the same wedding. If you book with them, double check to see who you will get on your wedding day because what you see on the website is not what you may get on the most important day of your life. I would not use them again as I paid over 5000 and got picture worth 1000. Lesson learned!!! :( read more

Cannot say enough about these two! They normally only do stuff in temecula and they came all the way up to lake arrowhead for our wedding and of course did an awesome job! I am thrilled we decided to go with the Hulse's! Julie was always quick to respond to my questions. On the day of the wedding Julie and Justin were an absolute pleasure to work with and have around!! They arrived early and so full of happy energy and excitement! They are SO GOOD at what they do!! They knew all the best spots around the Leoness Winery, and the best angles and times of the day to take the most amazing pictures. Justin is so very creative and Julie made sure I was comfortable throughout the evening. I had sprained my ankle two weeks before the wedding. Julie carried around her giant camera, lights, and my flat sandals in case I need to switch out of my stilettos during the shoot. From ~4pm - midnight Justin's camera did not miss one detail!! And you should see my wedding pics!! They're INSANE!!! SERIOUSLY!! They are a collage of posed and candid highlighting the feelings and emotions against the gorgeous venue.
