This school has too many fights, there are always 1 or 2 chill teachers and the rest are loud and love to call you out. The building looks better know and but they are doing nothing about fights that lead to no new policies. The good thing I can say is that hughes athletics is very important to do, this is probably the best part about hughes. This school is horrendous. There are only about 3 teachers who are actually nice. Some of them literally are sexist. yes, you heard that right. or saw. I see it every day, boys always getting in trouble for the same thing girls are doing. they always pick the girls first, no matter who is closer to you. Some of the teachers are super annoying, too. Do not harass anyone, but one is pretty whiny sometimes. one is okay mostly, but if you get in trouble she stares at you with force. not naming anyone because thats disrespectful. Don't get me STARTED with the fighting. there is always someone to pick on you, even when you didn't do anything. Some run into you on purpose, and some just bully you because your in 6th. I haven't had much interaction with the vice principle, but I have heard from other reviews that she is pretty darn rude. Don't enroll your kids. Please. read more

The vice principal suspended my son because another student hit him in the face and my son fought back. Pretty ridiculous that he called me to lie and try to cover up what had happened. I brought this up to him after I found out and he then decided to change his decision saying my son wasn't the aggressor and he could come back to school. Apparently he didn't care to know what happened or he was trying punish my son because the other student said my son called him the "n word". My son has never been in trouble and he makes straight A's and is in the honors classes. Regardless this doesn't excuse the other student for hitting my son in the face which started the fight. Just think how would you feel if you were hit in the face then get suspended for defending yourself? Also I do not condone using the n word and that's not something we say at my house but you don't get suspended for saying it. So this principal took it upon himself to tell me they just started fighting and he didn't know who started it. Except he did because he had the video which clearly showed what happened. read more

This school is sooo bad! There are too many fights and the staff don't do anything about the bad bullying! These were the 3 worst years of my life I don't recommend this school not even my cousins. They also got bullied and sometimes harassed and this school did nothing about it. I felt really bad for my one of my cousins they had to get therapy for all the hate/ bullying none of these kids deserve this! The teachers would also make racist jokes about kids and this was not okay I felt really discriminated. I hope this school gets better staff and better teachers. Don't enroll your kiddos. read more
