For the love of God and all that is holy, if you can't afford to send your kids to private school,…read moreDO NOT move to Fort Worth! The public schools here are horrific. I went to William Monnig, Handley, and Eastern Hills HS in the 90s and started junior college with the math skills of a 3rd grader. I could do long division but I didn't even know how to reduce a fraction. I was passed over as stupid by all of my teachers. None of them thought I was smart enough to waste their time on. Actually, it's hard to concentrate on school work when the kid next to you just made a big scene about sitting next to you because "white people smell like milk or bologna." Or when 8 girls have formed a circle around you in PE class and are pushing you around. These types of things happened daily and in front of teachers. No one ever tried to intervene. I, however got plenty of detentions for not going to class. Gee, I wonder why? I lived in fear for my life after a girl tried to set my hair on fire. A girl I had never even met. Don't think for a second that anyone asked why I wouldn't go to school. Decided to get the heck out of that dead end hell hole when I was 17. I was still classified as a freshman. Bravo Fort Worth! I sure hope you get one of those blue ribbon banners. Hahaaaa! Actually, I wish we would have had a voucher program where I could've chosen a healthier and less hostile environment. Ya I tested low because I didn't know ANYTHING. Thank God this is America. The land of opportunity. Where pulling one's self up by their own boot straps and hard work pays off. I went to jr college to catch up on what I didn't learn in my formative years, transferred to a university, and graduated with honors. No thanks to you fwisd. I was always top in my class when taught in a stable environment. Wow Fort Worth, how did you let me slip through the cracks? How many other kids didn't make it out like I did? Worst. Schools. Ever.

The institution is far too expensive for the huge mistake in course placement that was made. I am actually totally shocked and his new Catholic school in another state which is great is also in shock, but this happened and his prior teacher is also shocked of his placement. Don't bother to contact the superintendent or either principal they won't help and they won't answer or solve any of your problems because if they admit wrongdoing, then they admit faults and they don't want to do that. If you do go there just know the advocacy for parents and students is nonexistent because they don't want the liability.

Thirty years later as a current parent, I can say the campus is welcoming and allows students to explore their interests. There is a wide variety of athletics and clubs for students to join. Teachers and staff are welcoming and are available for students to assist with learning or help explore an interest. The learning support program and counselors have created a positive environment for my anxiety and ADHD child. AP and dual credit classes allow my child to excel and prepare for the rigor of college.
