The Lutz Branch Library is located right beside the old Lutz train station. It shouldn't shock…read moreanyone that this library is decorated with historical and railroad memorabilia. Each bookshelf, at least in the children's section, has a train carved into their side. I love the character, the uniqueness and the community connection that each of the libraries in the Hillsborough Collective have. I guess that is one of the benefits of giving autonomy to each branches "friends of the library." They can make the branch into what their community needs. As far as the library itself goes, the Lutz version is pretty small and cramped probably due to its age. It has a lot less space than some of the other branches. This isn't helped by the fact that the windows in here, save for some of the corner ones, are tiny and let in little light. This gives the Lutz Branch Library more of an old school elementary library feel. There are a few tables set up that have children's puzzles and activities for the little ones which gives them something to do while mommy or daddy or grandma looks for books. The humidity, especially in the community room where toddler time is located, is strong and it makes things a bit musty. I really like the version of toddler time that this branch puts on. It is very engaging and includes literacy concepts, book reading, music, arts and bubbles. It is also a bit smaller and more intimate than some of the other ones which allows my daughter to participate better. My motto for this branch of the Hillsborough Collective: If the train should jump the track do you want your humidity back?

On the other hand, this library is small, cute, and has lots of charm... who goes to the library for books nowadays anyway? Located next to busy HWY 41, a tiny train station, train sculpture made of bricks, and an arched bridge covered in flowers decorate the building's outside. Inside there's books (DUH)-- but the fiction and nonfiction together make a total of 8 aisles! Of course, there's DVD's, computers (around 20 internet machines), a kids area... I've never seen an entire aisle dedicated to romance novels. Now I know where to go when I'm lonely at night. It seems like the older ladies who work here were either Disney cast members or professional grandmas before... they seem to know EVERYBODY! They were so happy to help a young blood like me. Pyra says: Never busy so you can hog the internet, but not lots of books.

I didn't have time to assess all the new amenities but from what I see, I'm liking the upgrades. There is a dedicated room from children with computers and a few toys. The main area was rearranged and there are also other study rooms to utilize. There is a garden outside as well as an indoor hydroponic garden. I need to renew my library card to see what has changed with regard to the book loan process. See photo for current library hours.

This is a beautiful, new library; but, I can only give it a 3 star A-OK review. I've seen much…read morelarger, more beautiful libraries, with even friendlier employees. I do agree it is always spotless inside and the grounds are beautiful. It's actually rather small. They may or may not have the book you are wanting. More than likely they only have one copy of it and you'll be put on a waiting list. Be sure to have patience. They do have a large children's section, but I found the woman who runs the children's section to be very rude and she even spoke to me as if I was a child. It was everything I could do to bite my tongue. She's certainly not the type of woman I would want to be helping my children in a library (or anywhere for that matter). As long as you don't have to deal with her, your children are sure to find many books they will love. I have found the other employees to be pretty friendly and helpful. Just avoid the main woman over the children's section and you should be good. I love the fact they have no limit on the number of books you can check out at a time. This comes in very handy for my husband when he has an assignment due for college and needs a ton of books at a time. We have our own laptops and wifi at home, so we have no need for the computer or internet in the library. Although I do feel sorry for the people who do need this particular service in the library because every time I have been in, all computers have been occupied and there has been a wait time to use one. That stinks for all the people having to wait. I also like the fact you can login online and renew books, etc. Very convenient. There is a book I'm wanting to read and don't want to purchase because it is still only available in hardback. I was put on the list 2 months ago and I was number 5 on the wait list. I called a few days ago and I'm now number 4 on the wait list. Looks like I'm moving up once every 2 months. At this rate, they may have the book for me in about 8 more months. By that time, it'll be available in paperback and I can go purchase it for myself.

A schoolhouse library…read more Libraries and schools have a lot in common and indeed some of the very coolest libraries I have been in have been former schoolhouses. The Minneola Schoolhouse Library was built way back in 1885 and is the oldest remaining school building in the city. Like many of the old schoolhouse libraries this one is literally dripping with history and serves more as a museum than a library. Cool old photographs and pictures grace the walls and the schoolhouse origin is very obvious. Although the diminutive library has computers, wi-fi and the usual stuff, care was taken to integrate everything so the historic flavor is never lost. This is a place where the people working here want you to know, appreciate and feel the memories and past oozing from the walls. The voices from a time now gone still speak loudly here. Like many small libraries the librarians here are amazing friendly and knowledgeable and took pleasure and pride in showing us around and explained the history of the buildling and town. We ended up staying here for quite a while and talked to just about everyone that came up. In a library like this it is almost expected that you say hello and act friendly toward everyone else. A library that is so cool that the books are almost irrelevant.

This is not the one. I actually attended this church for a while. There was no unity there instead…read moreit was full of strife and confusion. The sermons were okay, but almost all of them were geared at trying to get you to volunteer at the church and convert others and bring them into the confusion. The people were not very friendly and just seem as if they were going through the motions. The leadership was also very controlling. It is more like a dictatorship than a church. I watched the leadership attempt to punish the members if they did anything that they disagreed with but when they commit gross sins they just continued on as if nothing happened. There is nothing wrong with punishing people as long as it is fair and uniform. I would recommend that anyone who is looking for a church that is biblical keep looking for your own safety. If you do not believe me go for yourself and you will notice that it is more like a bus station with people constantly leaving and new ones coming. There were several people in the community from various backgrounds who also attended this church and shared the same feelings with me.
