This library is huge! They have an antique look going on and it's like walking into a different world. They have a great selection of books and activities that go on. They offer free WiFi. They don't have a huge selection of comfy chairs, which isn't enticing. I found some relatively comfy couch chairs in the back in the "pit stop" / "Rec lounge " area.

It took me by surprise when I visited Oldsmar Public Library. I never thought our city could offer such modern facility. I really underestimated Oldsmar. What is going on in this city? I thought I live with bunch of Tea Party folks who tries to suck out my soul. This library has done everything right. It is free. It is large. It is for all ages. It is connected with 21st century technology. It is beautiful. I have a date with Oldsmar Library today. How exciting.

I saw Ming's review and was curious to check this place out. The libraries where I come from are kind of meh, so I was excited by the prospect of something new. Before you ever walk in there are tables out front. You can bring lunch here. You can bring your buddies here. And it's free? Definitely a smart idea for something to do. I made my way inside and was instantly enchanted by the look of this place. Old fashioned fans, pictures from Oldsmar's past, and other vintage touches surround you here. There are tables near the adult section, bean bag chairs and cool classic car couches in the teen section, and cute benches and soft seats for the little guys in the children's section. It would be so easy for me to come here, grab a book, and lose myself in a story for a few hours. They also have a large selection of DVDs you can borrow, which is a great option for those who want entertainment on the cheap. I might start renting these just as much as I go to Redbox. Something I also find to be very neat is the atrium near the back. I could see someone having a book club there, or a tea party if the library would allow it. I am so happy that I finally visited Oldsmar Library and plan to be here quite often!

Great spot for business meetings, or to go and get some peace and quiet for a while. The retro vibe keeps with Oldsmar's rich automobile history, so the building looks new from outside, but feels old school on the inside. The ceiling fans take my old soul back to the turn of the century and scream "Industrial Age!" This library also boasts a huge meeting room, probably for town halls and such. Also, there is a cafe area with a few vending machines. Quiet, quaint and relaxing!

I thought the library would lose it's small town charm after moving from its old location on State Street, but once you step inside all worries are put at ease. There is a meeting room named Teco Hall you can rent for I believe $75 or so. It's a good size room that can accommodate up to 75-100 people. My community have held HOA meetings here many times. The entrance hallway to the library is so nice and breezy due to the high bamboo style ceiling fans. There are numerous brochures, tax docs etc lining the walls in the hallways. Then you step into the library and the first thing you notice are these large antique looking lamps and high ceiling fans. I just love the decor and feel. There are computers scattered around which is great. My nieces and nephews love coming here because of the children section. This makes me happy and brings back memories when my sister and I would walk to the library after school and sit for hours just reading books or doing our homework. The library is clean and there's plenty of parking except when there are race events which can get very crowded.

I wish our local library would adopt this, but we are happy to have found the safety harbor library. The grounds are beautiful and they have a young children's area that has many learning tools. My toddler is only 20 months old, so we haven't explored much outside of the train table (major hit), but they have computers for learning and backpacks with kits. The sign language class is our major reason for coming back to this library so frequently. The teacher is good about being repetitive and engaging with the children. My son is shy and the teacher manages to get his attention at least one time per class. Newcomers to sign language class should remember that the class is really for the parent/caretaker to learn signs and repeat them throughout the week. The teacher even answers questions after class if you are having any specific issues. My son has increased his sign vocabulary exponentially since we began visiting 8 months ago. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to communicate early with your baby. The STEM day is held once a month and has a range of activities for all ages. The room is basically set up with 20 different activity stations for you to come and go at your leisure. There is no organized learning during STEM day. My 18 month old was able to get hands on with a lot of new activities that I didn't realize he was ready for yet. As a scientist myself, I appreciate that they have incorporated this event to expose toddlers to STEM at an early age. Our local library has similar events but not at the toddler age.

Their library for the littles is set up with several computers, one is a special one that is touch screen & has so many kids learning activities on it. My daughter loves drawing with it, but it covers a lot material i.e. if your child wanted to practice a subject or even learn typing skills. They put the effort in here. There are themes so if a holiday is approaching there's coloring sheets put out for kiddos, as well as other thoughtful snippets to tie into. For example, Poetry month was April (I think?) & they put out poetry books on display & had poems to take home. So cute! I haven't explored the rest of the library by myself but I've noticed there's plenty of reading nooks to get cozy with a book & lots of natural lighting. I'm looking forward to trying out their summer adult workshops! I use their App often to put books on hold for the family. It works smoothly & I can see what I've checked out & what needs to be returned. The staff are not bingo aged (as someone else mentioned), there's a good mix here & they have all been helpful & polite in my experience. I use their App often to put books on hold for the family. I check out roughly 20 books a week to read to my kiddo & not only does she love that time together, but she speaks so well for her age & is complimented on it often. And we have saved so much money in the process by checking out books instead of buying, which is a big deal because I'm ballin on a budget lol. It is truly worth the effort utilizing this library whether it's for yourself, or if you happen to have kids!

It had been decades since I last used a public library--and even longer since I had a library card. But this past year I've been fully in my "books and Kindle era," and while I love physical books, I didn't want to start hoarding more since I've already run out of bookshelf space. Minimalist problems So I finally decided to get a library card. I completed the application online back in December but didn't make it in until March. When I arrived, the process couldn't have been easier. The librarian simply looked me up in the system, handed me my card, and even pointed me in the direction of my next thriller read. She was incredibly helpful, and the whole experience was quick and seamless--I honestly wish I had done it sooner. As mentioned, it is a smaller library, but that hasn't been an issue at all. You can easily search for and request books, eBooks, and audiobooks online through the Hillsborough Library app and the Libby app, which makes everything super convenient. Overall, such a positive experience and a great reminder of how valuable our local libraries are!

If people slow down a bit, and hit the Pinellas trail, the old rail line bulges west just north of Curlew and harkens back to a more simple time.
