Palm Harbor Library is the best library in the area I have found. They have a fabulous book section & drop off lane. I found many books of great interest here OuiOui. I also LOVE that the building is painted with a mural of a Wild Flamingo. I love Flamingos, I'm a photographer & love to photograph nature, especially flamingos. I'm also a Chef, Homeopathic practitioner and Herbalist, focusing on using plants & natural remedies to heal and create potions OuiOui. I love to grow my own herbs, editable and medicinal plants. Herbs for culinary, medicinal & therapeutic purposes. I make all my own medicines & a lot of my own essential oils so I do tons of research, read & garden a lot every day. And now I have found the perfect "la vie en rose" library with a flamingo in Palm Harbor. I'm also making all my own recipes, making all my own compost, fertilizer & Organic dirt. So lately, I have been researching the local plants & medicinal herbs/trees, plants that grow best here. I want to plant a Boswellia tree. (If anyone local has one planted already, drop me a message & tell me how it's going. haha. Thanks in Advance.) In the meantime, I will keep reading all the cool "Dr Chef" books that are filled with all the knowledge & wisdom i'm seeking, from Palm Harbor Library. Will Return. I've been coming to the Palm Harbor Library on and off my whole life, and it's grown into such a cozy little gem. Their Friends of the Library bookstore is honestly one of the best spots around for finding cheap, wonderful books. The Palm Beach Library is seriously one awesome library. Why for starters excellent staff example Marissa who I've seen numerous times helping people including me with the best and most cordial and amazing customer service skills. This library has many people working here who are great as well,but Marissa seemed to shine above the other staff members. This library is very clean and well maintained. Palm Harbor Community Service Agency aka CSA located at 1500 16th Street, Palm Harbor, FL 34683, Florida is the local non-profit that is charged with managing parks, recreation and leisure services within the unincorporated community of Palm Harbor, Florida. The Chamber of Commerce boasts, "Palm Harbor has a short but rich history, a prosperous present, and a most promising future." Since Palm Harbor isn't a local municipality, but rather a census-designated place, we don't have a city or town government. In 1985, the residents of our community voted to tax themselves and created the Palm Harbor Community Services District. Within this district, residents are taxed for recreation and library services, benefiting CSA Palm Harbor, Palm Harbor Library and the East Lake Community Library. I've had several occasions where a book I knew I'd returned had been marked missing and when I go up to the library and bring the book to them. It always seems to be the more expensive books too, and if you don't take pictures of messed up pages before you leave they'll probably pin it on you. I made the mistake of not checking a book once and it's pages were stained with coffee I never read the book before I'd returned it, it stayed in my car (I don't drink coffee). They made me buy the book despite it being the person who rented it before me. Some staff are friendly though others are quite judgmental, though throughout all my experiences it's been quite a negative place. read more

I have never had so many calls from a library claiming that I damaged books. These are books that were fine when I dropped them off. On one occasion I hadn't even gotten to read the book (I was about to travel and hadn't read it on time), and they stated something was wrong. I'm starting to feel like I need to check every page before checking out a book. It's disheartening and strange. read more

I was unfairly charged for a book that they claimed was "wet" which I had returned completely as it was when I received it. Charging me 22$ for something I didn't do. Not right. I will not be returning. read more

This is the best library around! I am a little biased as I have volunteered here for the past 6 years but I have nothing but happy times in this place. The staff is always very accommodating and will go out of their way to help a patron. The bookstore is VERY affordable with a wonderful selection of books to purchase. There are also new things always being added and updated such as the new gaming center, steam computers in the teen area, and a free movie vending machine when the library is closed. The programs are also really well done and range from anything from baby bubble time to adult escape rooms. There is never a dull moment a the Palm Harbor Library! read more

Love this library. I've been coming here since i was a kid and now my four year old daughter and I come here quite often. She loves the children's area as there are lots of things for her to do. The librarians and staff are all very friendly and extra helpful. read more

Creepy!! Man next to me was looking at porn. I alerted staff but they were timid and slow to respond. They actually let him borrow their scissors to cut out his porn. I asked to speak with a manager and was told they were in a meeting. I left my name and number and left the library. No one called me so, I called them to see if anything was done. The manager was unaware of the situation and said she would review video. This is crazy, as a female with two children who were present this doesn't seem like an appropriate, immediate response to a serious situation. read more

There is no library like the Palm Harbor Library. The classes and events they host for kids alone are not like any events that I've experienced at any other library. The staff clearly loves kids and I've seen each of the children's room staff host their own story time or event which shows that this is not just a job for them but they truly enjoy kids. This library is popular, yet they remember many of the kids' names. The children's section of the library is closed off by glass doors so that adults without kids aren't bothered by whatever is going on in the kids room. There is a teen room as well. There are quite a few computers to use and there are always at least a few open. I've never had an issue finding a book, as their selection is awesome and their online system is easy to use. This library is in conjunction with other Pinellas County libraries and books can be returned at any location! This library is a gem, and I'm lucky that this our library! read more

Lovely little library! The building is always clean and organized. I am always logging on to my account online to request books, and I receive email notifications when they are available at the library for me to pick up. The staff is friendly and helpful when I have questions. They also have an area where you can donate your used books, magazines, etc....there's a separate room that serves as a store...great spot to pick up some gently loved books to add to your collection if you don't want to just borrow a book! And it doesn't hurt that they have some books available to download on your tablet...I hope that continues to expand as time goes on! read more

My family and I love going to our local library. They have put in a new kids only masterpiece section where the children can work on craft projects unassisted by adults. the staff is very friendly and the library has always been neat and organized. read more

We took one book some time ago (price of this book is $7 in all stores). We didn't check inside as usual. I didn't do it many many years of using library system. I never check all pages in all books in the library. It's a very time-consuming task, because we take a lot of book. We didn't use this book even, because we forgot about it. The book has been lost between our own books on the shelves. When I checked my account online I noticed that I have this book out. I found it on our bookshelf and returned as was. Over time I received a notification from collectors, checked my account online and found $36 fees for this book ($20 to replace the book + $5 processing fee + $10 for collector's fee). They put me into collections without any reduction notice from the library. The same situation as Jaime T. mentioned in her review. If two people have the same case - it could be a truth. I went there and asked "why?". Because they found marks from pen on the couple pages. I asked to solve this problem 50/50. Because I know that we didn't open this book. For me it means that we didn't mark inside the book. They told me: "We always check all books". Ok. "I always didn't check all books and it's the first time for many many years of using library and reading many many books with my kids. There is a strong respect to books in our house. Why I have to believe that they always very carefully check all pages in all books, but they could not believe me that we didn't do it? I have NO ONE record about spoiling books for all years. I hoped for some solution as 50/50. Finally, they generously allowed me to buy absolutely new book in some store with the same ISBN number to replace. In additional I still have to pay $15 more: $5 library processing fee (they need to stick a new sticker on that new book and it costs $5) + $10 collector's fee (they are very hurry up to do it with their customer, as I understood from reviews online). Unfortunately, I have no wishes to go any library after this situation. We will buy own books (it could be maybe cheaper) or use application for reading. I am sorry that this kind of library service discourages from using libraries essentially. If some people didn't have some troubles with this library it looks a great. But... please, be aware: if something happens you can pay a big invoice with using collector's company immediately, even without a pre-notice for you. read more
