Friendly workers, you can pick up your own holds without having to ask someone to get it for you and there's self-checkout kiosks. Whoo!

Aside from the seed library, they usually have at least one book I'm looking for, so it's well stocked.

While not the largest library in the county, it is definitely the most modern. The library is well lit, with lots of natural light and lots of outlets. There are also study rooms available to reserve. The staff is kind and helpful. The patrons here are also very respectful and unobtrusive. There also is a lobby area where you can eat food and fill up your water bottle with filtered water. I wish all the libraries in the county had this amenity! Overall great place to get work done or just relax.

Their library for the littles is set up with several computers, one is a special one that is touch screen & has so many kids learning activities on it. My daughter loves drawing with it, but it covers a lot material i.e. if your child wanted to practice a subject or even learn typing skills. They put the effort in here. There are themes so if a holiday is approaching there's coloring sheets put out for kiddos, as well as other thoughtful snippets to tie into. For example, Poetry month was April (I think?) & they put out poetry books on display & had poems to take home. So cute! I haven't explored the rest of the library by myself but I've noticed there's plenty of reading nooks to get cozy with a book & lots of natural lighting. I'm looking forward to trying out their summer adult workshops! I use their App often to put books on hold for the family. It works smoothly & I can see what I've checked out & what needs to be returned. The staff are not bingo aged (as someone else mentioned), there's a good mix here & they have all been helpful & polite in my experience. I use their App often to put books on hold for the family. It works smoothly & I can see what I've checked out & what needs to be returned. This library serves us well to say the least. I check out roughly 20 books a week to read to my kiddo & not only does she love that time together, but she speaks so well for her age & is complimented on it often. And we have saved so much money in the process by checking out books instead of buying, which is a big deal because I'm ballin on a budget lol. It is truly worth the effort utilizing this library whether it's for yourself, or if you happen to have kids!

I wish our local library would adopt this, but we are happy to have found the safety harbor library. The grounds are beautiful and they have a young children's area that has many learning tools. My toddler is only 20 months old, so we haven't explored much outside of the train table (major hit), but they have computers for learning and backpacks with kits. The sign language class is our major reason for coming back to this library so frequently. The teacher is good about being repetitive and engaging with the children. My son is shy and the teacher manages to get his attention at least one time per class. Newcomers to sign language class should remember that the class is really for the parent/caretaker to learn signs and repeat them throughout the week. The teacher even answers questions after class if you are having any specific issues. My son has increased his sign vocabulary exponentially since we began visiting 8 months ago. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to communicate early with your baby. The STEM day is held once a month and has a range of activities for all ages. The room is basically set up with 20 different activity stations for you to come and go at your leisure. There is no organized learning during STEM day. My 18 month old was able to get hands on with a lot of new activities that I didn't realize he was ready for yet. As a scientist myself, I appreciate that they have incorporated this event to expose toddlers to STEM at an early age. Our local library has similar events but not at the toddler age.

Herbs for culinary, medicinal & therapeutic purposes. I make all my own medicines & a lot of my own essential oils so I do tons of research, read & garden a lot every day. So lately, I have been researching the local plants & medicinal herbs/trees, plants that grow best here. I want to plant a Boswellia tree. (If anyone local has one planted already, drop me a message & tell me how it's going. haha. Thanks in Advance.) In the meantime, I will keep reading all the cool "Dr Chef" books that are filled with all the knowledge & wisdom i'm seeking, from Palm Harbor Library. Will Return. Highest Recommendations.

It was also a pitch for estate planning and wills, but I'm happy with our attorney and our will. I took the useful brochure with me. Afterwards, I wandered down the wide hallway to the double glass doors to peruse the books for sale in the front of the library. Prices were reasonable. I also looked around at the plethora of books and other materials that patrons could check out. But I had to call this visit short. I had to hurry to Palm Harbor to lead a class (Tai Chi for Balance). I hope to return for a more in depth look at what this majestic library offers.

I checked out a DVD of a series recommended to me by a Yelp friend. They were only one of four libraries that had it. It was easy to find, and quickly checked out by a very friendly librarian. The library has a craft basket at the checkout desk. So help yourself to a craft while they last! They also have museum passes for Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Unfortunately, the James Museum is no longer offered. That was one of my favorite museums to visit for free. Now I will pay for the privilege. This library has plenty of parking in their parking lot, on the street, and across the way. It's all for free. It also has accessible bathrooms, a Friends of the Library book area by the front doors, community rooms, and a children's section. Do yourself a favor, and stop by to see all that is offered here.

When I asked the woman behind the counter next thing I know there was three people telling me I had to pay $25 to get a library card. As I was asking the so-called manager lady questions, she was very discriminating towards me because I had a walker and instead answered my friend who she didn't even know I was friends with that was standing next to me as if I was invisible. Way to go for discrimination. Unbelievable. It was already late in the afternoon and they wasted about 20 minutes of my very valuable time. The place needs a revamp inside. The outside is beautiful as usual. The only one that was helpful and very sweet was a young man named Ray. Thank you Ray for being a decent good human. It's a shame that your co-workers and manager are not decent at all. If you have a walker or any type of assistance with a device DON'T GO THERE. The bathroom has the heaviest door and is not accessible. They do have a stall that is larger, but you have to struggle with the door to get in at all. I can't believe this used to be a great Library. Maybe the manager should take out a book herself about discriminating against people fighting for their life
