I checked out a DVD of a series recommended to me by a Yelp friend. They were only one of four libraries that had it. It was easy to find, and quickly checked out by a very friendly librarian. The library has a craft basket at the checkout desk. So help yourself to a craft while they last! They also have museum passes for Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Unfortunately, the James Museum is no longer offered. That was one of my favorite museums to visit for free. Now I will pay for the privilege. This library has plenty of parking in their parking lot, on the street, and across the way. It's all for free. It also has accessible bathrooms, a Friends of the Library book area by the front doors, community rooms, and a children's section. Do yourself a favor, and stop by to see all that is offered here.

When I asked the woman behind the counter next thing I know there was three people telling me I had to pay $25 to get a library card. As I was asking the so-called manager lady questions, she was very discriminating towards me because I had a walker and instead answered my friend who she didn't even know I was friends with that was standing next to me as if I was invisible. Way to go for discrimination. Unbelievable. It was already late in the afternoon and they wasted about 20 minutes of my very valuable time. The place needs a revamp inside. The outside is beautiful as usual. The only one that was helpful and very sweet was a young man named Ray. Thank you Ray for being a decent good human. It's a shame that your co-workers and manager are not decent at all. If you have a walker or any type of assistance with a device DON'T GO THERE. The bathroom has the heaviest door and is not accessible. They do have a stall that is larger, but you have to struggle with the door to get in at all. I can't believe this used to be a great Library. Maybe the manager should take out a book herself about discriminating against people fighting for their life

I sought out this library as my computer & printer were in transit. When I went to renew my card, forget it...the crickets stopped chirping & I started the new speedy process. It was quick, painless & easy. I am on my way. I started with the computers, as there was a task, I had to complete. The staff at all points were fabulous, knowledgeable & a no judgment zone. As with the first time with most computers, I was making mistakes right & left. The Liberian was gentle & supportive of me till I finished. Sometimes she would just see me looking perplexed & give me comfort. The library also offers printing at $.10 per page, try & beat that! The movies, taking books & regular books are a broad assortment, to fit anyone's taste. A wonderful day & experience! They offer many things, I don't even know about to include political, religious, green useage, recycling & so much more. Don't ever count your neighborhood library out, like a good friend, it is always there & can be relied upon. What's a girl to do? I will no longer keep libraries in the recesses of my mind, they will be front & center, as they belong!

I also LOVE that the building is painted with a mural of a Wild Flamingo. I love Flamingos, I'm a photographer & love to photograph nature, especially flamingos. I'm also a Chef, Homeopathic practitioner and Herbalist, focusing on using plants & natural remedies to heal and create potions OuiOui. I love to grow my own herbs, editable and medicinal plants. Herbs for culinary, medicinal & therapeutic purposes. I make all my own medicines & a lot of my own essential oils so I do tons of research, read & garden a lot every day. And now I have found the perfect "la vie en rose" library with a flamingo in Palm Harbor. I'm also making all my own recipes, making all my own compost, fertilizer & Organic dirt. So lately, I have been researching the local plants & medicinal herbs/trees, plants that grow best here. I want to plant a Boswellia tree. (If anyone local has one planted already, drop me a message & tell me how it's going. haha. Thanks in Advance.) In the meantime, I will keep reading all the cool "Dr Chef" books that are filled with all the knowledge & wisdom i'm seeking, from Palm Harbor Library. Will Return. Highest Recommendations.

Blink and you'll miss it…read more Hugging the west coast of Florida at St. Joseph Sound 4 miles north of Dunedin and about 1 mile south of Palm Harbor is a hidden Pinellas County gem. Folks traveling along ALT 19 pay no attention while they're caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily automobile traffic. If people slow down a bit, and hit the Pinellas trail, the old rail line bulges west just north of Curlew and harkens back to a more simple time. The first home built here was in 1875, and as more folks settled in Florida during the golden citrus years, this village saw sleepy prosperity with its orange groves and fishing wharfs buzzing with activity. Tampa Road, which originated here, was the first paved road leading into Tampa, directly connecting the big city with Oldsmar, Dundein, Palm Harbor and Ozona. Things are obviously much different now. The village is quiet, laid back and the vibe is a kin to Cedar Key on a Monday night. They've got their own post office, a BBQ joint, pizzeria, pub and plenty of coastal property to catch a sunset. To me, this place is far removed from traffic, tourism, unexploited, raw and uncut--pure Florida. I absolutely love it. Oh, and all streets are golf cart friendly.
