My Chihuahua lives in a safe, loving home, is monitored closely, and receives regular veterinary care. His veterinarian has never treated his not being neutered as abnormal or as a sign of neglect. Instead of asking thoughtful questions about the kind of home I provide or how well my dogs are cared for, I received a phone call denying my application and making me feel judged and shamed for my personal veterinary decision. The conversation felt insulting and unnecessary. It is one thing to have adoption requirements or preferences, but it is another to speak to someone in a way that feels disrespectful and dismissive. My dogs are loved immensely and cared for responsibly. I believe applicants should be treated with professionalism and respect, even when an organization decides not to approve an application. This experience left me feeling hurt and unfairly judged. DO NOT GO HERE! Staff must be abusing those poor dogs the way they treat people!
