Richard (our new friend and the most amazing concierge ever) was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She also became our friend and was very organized, friendly and patient - making our ukulele lessons, Hawaiian stamping and lei making all great experiences for us! She was so sweet, kind and knowledgeable - even my husband loved the activities. We created sweet memories and learned something valuable with each lesson. Amy really is amazing. I was hoping to stay in the Napili Tower, mainly because I liked the pool area better--longer, more spread out, and largely oceanfront. That said, the Lahaina Tower ended up having its own perks. The biggest one is that it's right next to the self-parking structure that's used for the whole resort, which makes coming and going incredibly easy. If you're staying in the Napili tower, self-parking is all the way on the other side and I would recommend using valet instead to save you the walk. Our room was spacious and comfortable, technically "oceanfront," though it felt more like oceanview. Still, no complaints--the view was lovely, and the room itself had a convenient kitchenette with a fridge, sink, and all the basics (plates, utensils, etc.), which made snack time quick and easy. The Lahaina Tower also has its own smaller pool area, plus a few fun extras like ping pong and foosball. It's also right by Longhi's, if you're looking for an easy meal. If you want more action, the main pool area--with the large, winding pool and additional dining options--is just a short walk away. The weather during our stay wasn't the best--it was actually pretty chilly by Maui standards following the heels of two major storms--but we still had a great time. Between the comfortable room, convenient location, and easy access to everything on property, it made for a relaxed and low-effort getaway. While the resort may not be the newest, we really like the main pool area. I'll definitely opt for the Lahaina/Napili towers again next time. This is a great resort, especially for families looking for a laid-back Maui stay with nice views and plenty to do.

The property has everything you could possibly need -- pools, beach access, restaurants, shops, BBQ grills, valet parking and activities all within walking distance. It's a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the island without ever having to leave the resort. That said, some common items are definitely overpriced, and you can find better deals just a short walk or drive away. Still, the $50 all-you-can-drink option (coffee, tea, juice, and soda) was absolutely worth it -- super convenient and a great value for resort guests who want unlimited refills throughout the day good for the entire stay. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, and an unbeatable location right on Kaanapali Beach. Just be prepared to spend a little more for the convenience.

After multiple flight cancellations left us stranded in Maui, we found ourselves in a stressful and uncertain situation, especially traveling with both our family and my in-laws. On top of that, Maui was experiencing torrential rain, flooding, and road closures. It could have easily turned into a very difficult trip. Then we met Adrian. He stepped in with urgency, empathy, and an incredible level of care. Not only did he find rooms for us on short notice, but he secured an oceanfront room as well as another room with perfect access to the pool. He was extremely accommodating and thoughtful in every detail, making sure both sides of our family were taken care of. What stood out most was how genuinely he cared. Adrian didn't just solve a problem, he completely changed the trajectory of our trip. In the middle of chaos and uncertainty, he created a sense of calm and turned our stay into something truly special. The resort itself is an absolute oasis in one of the most beautiful parts of our country, but it's people like Adrian who make the experience unforgettable. We are incredibly grateful for everything he did for us. If you have the chance to stay here, you're in amazing hands. The resort never felt overly crowded, which made the whole trip feel really peaceful. Our room was cleaned every single day, and we loved that they offer free washers and dryers for guests. It was such a nice perk -- we dried our towels daily and didn't have to deal with sandy, damp stuff in the room. Everyone we interacted with was so nice. The bell desk even held Tim's glasses for us so we could go out one evening without worrying. The concierge team was also super helpful and actually helped us book our next Marriott stay in Kauai. The on-site restaurant, Hawaii Calls, was great -- amazing Mai Tais and solid food overall. The only thing I'd skip is the little coffee shop; we paid for parfaits and it just wasn't worth it. The only minor downside was that our oceanfront balcony wasn't quite as "oceanfront" as we expected for the price, but it was still a lovely room and didn't take away from the experience. We loved our stay here so much we already booked another Marriott for our next trip. Beautiful resort, great service, and a perfect base for exploring the Big Island.

We've been coming to the Waikoloa Hilton for about 15 years now and have visited a handful of times…read moreover that stretch. With that history, I can say with confidence that the experience has noticeably declined and our most recent trip made that hard to ignore. The biggest frustration is the cuts to on-site transportation. The boats that used to ferry guests around are largely gone, and the tram service seems to always be down. That leaves you walking and this is not a small property. Depending on where your room is, you're looking at close to half a mile to a mile between points, which is brutal when you have kids, luggage, and all your gear in tow. The on-site activities and amenities have also thinned out compared to what they used to offer. It just doesn't feel as full and vibrant as it once did. That said, there are still genuine highlights. The valet service was excellent, incredibly kind, and complimentary for us. The day pass option is solid if you want to come for a visit without staying overnight, and towel rentals are included with that service. The resort's layout is actually a plus in one way if one area gets too crowded, you can easily move to a completely different pool or section and have an entirely different experience. The ocean connection to the resort is genuinely special too we went snorkeling and spotted turtles and fish right there, which was a highlight for our whole family. The hotel rooms feel like they've slipped in quality over the years, and the buffet prices have gone up significantly while the food quality hasn't kept pace. Convenient? Yes. Worth the price tag? Not really anymore. My honest recommendation: skip staying on property and instead Airbnb or find a different t nearby timeshare we've done it and it's a great way to enjoy the area at a much better value. Then come do a day visit at the resort to enjoy the amenities without the overnight sticker shock. We still love Waikoloa and will keep coming back, but the resort itself needs to invest in what made it great a decade ago.

The two-bedroom villas are honestly one of our favorite things about the property--so spacious (over 1,000 sq ft!) and thoughtfully laid out. Their 3-bedroom villa is even bigger! Whether we're celebrating birthdays or hosting a mini family reunion, it's always accommodated our group comfortably, with room for kids to play and adults to relax. There's never that cramped feeling you sometimes get in hotel rooms, and the kids especially loved playing hide and seek with all the little corners and hiding spots throughout the room. While it's mostly a timeshare property, Nanea still has that easygoing resort feel. The pool area isn't the biggest or greatest, but it's well-designed with areas for both kids and adults, plus a handful of jacuzzis scattered around for a nice soak. We've also grabbed drinks at the bar (yes, it's a bit pricey--but on par like at most resorts), and the food is decent if you want to stay on property and keep things simple. During busier/peak times, lounge chairs around the pool fill up quickly, so come early if you want to lock down a good spot. We've also made good use of the BBQ areas during our stays--great for grilling up dinner and enjoying it at one of the outdoor tables with the whole family. Just get there early or during off-times because it can get BUSY. The beach that fronts the property has some surprisingly good snorkeling as well when the tide is low and the water's calm with clear visibility, and plenty of fish. And when you're ready for a cool treat, Big Wave Shave Ice (just a short walk away near the lobby) always hits the spot. Bonus: the first night of valet parking is free, which is a nice little perk. If you're hosting family or friends who aren't staying at the resort, there's convenient public parking nearby at Airport Beach, making it easy for guests to pop by for a visit. All in all, we absolutely love The Westin Nanea. It's the perfect blend of spacious, family-friendly comfort with just enough resort-style amenities. Highly recommend--especially for families or larger groups looking for a home base on Maui.
