Hudson's Pub is a great place to dine and / or have a drink, watch sports on the tv, and meet up with friends!! I recently went to Hudson's on Remembrance Day to eat a meal for active members of the CAF - I ordered the ginger beef plate. It has lightly breaded beef strips, mixed with vegetables and ginger sauce (which was delicious, by the way), and served on pad Thai style noodles. I also had a soft drink, which accompanied the dish well - Hudson's has many brands of beer and cocktail drinks, so something for everybody!! The location was full of folks, including a good number in the service. The restaurant was vibrant and very lively, which added to the ambiance of the place. Service was very good, fast and friendly. Finally, if you look for good foods, drinks and great ambiance and service, Hudson's is the place to go!! read more

Servers and atmosphere were excellent but I just did not enjoy the food! They have really affordable share plates (which we got for the table and super cheap at $5). Onion Rings, Cauliflower Bites, wings, and fries. The onion rings were very good and huge! Even the 5 year old enjoyed them. Fries were a bit mushy and not hot. Cauliflower bites were not flavorful at all. Just deep fried balls to me. I then ordered the Power Bowl (Marinated Tofu / Coconut Rice / Roasted Broccoli / Shredded Red Cabbage / Pickled Carrots / Coconut Peanut Sauce / Green Onions / Toasted Sesame Seeds). There was no sauce on it so I asked for a side which was not very appealing (thick peanut sauce). The coconut rice was basmati rice and the tofu was pretty dry. I had a few bites and was not a fan. Good atmosphere to watch the Oilers game. Read reviews before coming in so figured I'd order food that was easy as they don't seem to do a great job on food - went wings and poutine (keeping it healthy lol). Poutine was pretty good. The wings tasted like they were cooked 1-2 days earlier and reheated in the microwave. Seriously? How hard is it to cook a f'n chicken wing(s). Ranch sauce tasted horrible - like the cheapest mass qty bulk stuff they could source. Ordered a crown and ginger, ginger ale was flat. This place blows and doesn't deserve your money. Bear in mind I write this as someone who is not a club person and is probably a little past Hudson's target age demo these days. If you're sober and not planning on partying, it's LOUD, dark, and underwhelming. We went around 9pm on a Friday since our show got out early and split after a drink. Food was actually surprisingly decent, service was okay, but holy man was the volume way too loud. When we left my ear were ringing and it took a while to get back to normal. But if you're cooler than I am, and not old and crotchety, there's a bit of a dance floor, lots of tvs for sports, and the joint overall is clean. Came to this location last week with a coworker after watching an acoustic Justin Moore show at Lammle's (awesome, by the way :-). We ordered the Monday special of $5 boneless wings. I thoroughly enjoyed the ancho chipotle, although my friend found they had too much kick. She preferred her honey and garlic boneless ribs but I found them too sweet. I had a Canadian Iced tea for $7 which was a little too heavy on the ice for me in the tall glass while my friend enjoyed a $5 pint. The decor was like any other Hudson's and totally made me forget I was in a mall - thumb's up! Our waitress was friendly but could have come around a little more often. For dessert, we shares the mini donuts drizzled in maple syrup and bacon. Think savory & sweet heaven! The perfect shareable and end to a great night out! Can't complain - $40ish for two appies, 2 dtinks, and a dessert! Also, appreciation goes to the bartender who asked the crazy white guy rapping loudly in a booth with headphones on to summer down a bit :-) Oh and how could I forget? I feel guilty. If it weren't for the extremely gorgeous waitress we had, this probably would've gotten 3 stars. Unfortunately, I simply had to because she was just so gorgeous, AND she topped that with extremely great service. Coming to Alberta, I realized I haven't had any beer yet. Seeing how it was nightfall and I don't have many plans for the night, I decided to drown myself with some lovely rum and coke....mmmmmm. Oh, and I also had some wings since it was wing night. The honey garlic wings (10 of them) tasted very good! What lost a star (and would've lost another one) was that my friend had 3 double rum and cokes. However, instead of being charged 3 doubles, he was charged 6 singles! Now logic tells me a double should cost a little less than 2 singles, as it gives incentives for customers to drink more. At the end my friend paid about $45 for his 3 doubles (and a small meal in which I forgot). It was a nice night to enjoy ourselves, I'll give it that much. I'll definitely come back, but I will watch what I order next time. read more

This is the newest Hudson's location in Edmonton, located in the busy eating district of West Ed. Mall, known as Bourbon Street. Seeing as I've never been too crazy about the other restaurants in this area, Hudson's Tap House is a nice Canadian addition to it. I shouldn't say it's a restaurant, it's really more of a pub. A real Canadian pub, with stuffed moose-heads hanging on the walls and everything! Okay, when I put it like that, it sounds like it might take away your appetite, but really, it's not that bad. I think it adds to the atmosphere! They've got plenty of seating, an assortment of small free-standing tables, cozy booths, and of course, the bar seating. The big bar stands right in the middle of the place, and is the first thing you see when you walk in. Everything is in this rich mahogany shade, so it doesn't look like just any pub -- it's a sleek pub. The food is yummy, and they give you these huge portions of everything, so you're definitely getting your money's worth. I had wimpy taste buds that day, so I only ordered the soup and salad (now I'm thinking, what the frick?). But the cream of broccoli was oh so good! Very creamy, not too salty. And uh, the salad was very fresh. Oy, that sounds so lame. Lucky for you guys, my friends had the sense to order something real that day. My friend had the buffalo burger (huuuge), and my bf had their super-spicy beef burger (also huuuge). Both guys were stuffed at the end of it! A tip for all you spicy tongues out there: Hudson's has a helpful scale on their menu which helps you rate how spicy you want your food. My bf is always bragging how much he can take, so he ordered the hottest one. He was sweating bullets in the end. If you want to go for their Happy Hour, it's from 4-6pm weekday nights. You can get some yummy wings and mini-cheeseburgers for $7. Mm, I'm getting hungry just writing this ... Another note: if you're short like me, you might want to consider getting a booth instead. Their individual tables are really tall, so you may have an awkward time slipping and sliding off your chair. I personally like having my feet touch the floor when I'm eating. And, you know, looking like I'm not 12 when I'm in a pub ... So I hope this was helpful to anyone considering a visit to Hudson's. As for myself, I think I'll go back and have that buffalo burger give it to my wimpy taste buds. read more

This is a great Hudsons. Most of them are pretty good, but I really like this one. I guess I never really focused on how Canadian Hudsons was until I went to this location. From the mahogany wood to the moose head on the wall, Hudsons is Canadian through and through. And I love it. They also have really good food - especially considering that they are a pub. But their food isn't typical pub food that comes dripping in grease, isn't cooked properly and is a tiny little portion. Hudsons does food right. Their portions are big, their food is cooked right and it tastes delicious. The servers here are pretty good too. They actually smile! Who would have thought?! It's a really great place to hang out with friends. It's got a great atmosphere and a lot of friendly people. Check it out! read more

Hudsons is a nice place to go and hang out with friends while having pub food and drinks. They take reservations which is great as you don't want to come with your group and find out there is no space available. Lots of options for food and drinks, nice music and plenty of screens for those who want to watch sports. I'm only taking one star because the servers are not always the most friendly ones... we know they are quite busy but I still expect them to smile and show they love their job. read more

I went to Hudson's to eat some food and dance the night away with friends. Pros: - The quesadilla is phenomial - The atmosphere is relaxed and is perfect for chatting with friends during the day and evening - The demographics Hudson's attracts is a mix of genders between the age of 22 to 35. The guests were all respectful. - The security guards are great and on top of it Areas of Improvement - The DJ on Friday might was uninterested, not engaged and played on his phone all night - The drinks are quite expensive. You can run across the hall to any of the other bars and get a much cheaper shot. - There were empty tables with dirty cups and plates on them. They could take more pride in keeping the area clean. I'd say cleaning tables within 5-10 minutes of guests leaving. Overall, I will be returning but I will ALWAYS pre drink someone else until Hudson's implements a more attractive pricing strategy. read more

This is the 4th different Hudson's that I've visited and the best thing I can say is that it's consistently average. The food has never impressed but it's also never disappointed. I guess that's all you can really ask from a chain: consistency. On this occasion we sat at the bar and had a few drinks while sharing the Fish and Chips. But we initially ordered a free plate of wings that Hudson's offers to members of the Edmonton Sport and Social Club. The bartender said they didn't honor that at this location. I don't recall seeing this in the fine print of the promotion and it kind of devalues the Hudson's brand. Went here for a quick pint after work. We had a good time! We got sampler flights with 3 6oz beers to sample which were delicious and only seven dollars each. Also we got sweet potato fries and the portion was large and there was a delicious sweet garlic aioli dipping sauce that went with it. Great way to unwind! Very busy especially on a long weekend but the service as also good. I would go back for sure! read more

Excellent beer selection - check, good menu with food made from quality ingredients - check, courteous staff - check On this trip they had caesars on special. The great part is they have 3 options for caesars: A west coast made with hp sauce and steak spice, an east coast that uses jalapeno tabasco and of course the traditional recipe. All three are delicious and give you just the right kick. No food was consumed on this visit, but from past experiences I've always enjoyed my meal there and do highly recommending Hudson's as a place to get together with friends. read more

Solid service, good specials, decent music. There's not a lot to complain about here. This location is the one closest to my house so it tends to be the one I hit up most often. I notice that the crowd at Hudson's skews a bit older (late 30s, 40s) and this one tends to be oldest out of all of them, likely due to location. I'm not saying that this is necessarily a bad thing, but if you're 21 and looking to see a younger crowd this probably isn't the location for you ;) Since they revamped their menu the food is really good, I've never been disappointed. Hudson west Edmonton mall. Well what can I say about this place? I mean it's a Hudsons. On Wednesday they have cheap wing day 35 cents a wing. They have I think 10 different flavors of wings to try. The food overall at hudsons is better than most pubs. With options like bison instead of beef for your burger it really helps make hudsons it's own and not like every other pub. The beer selection is quite large. With beers from the west coast all the way to the east for you to try. They have a nice selection of beers on tap as well. Now don't expect to see a more rare beer here though, it still is a more main stream beer menu. Overall hudsons is a great place to go for some better than average pub food and catch a hockey game or NFL with some friends while enjoying a beer or hi-ball. read more

All the food here rocks! The service is often pretty slow and the servers can sometimes be a little snotty but it's a great place. I worked in west Edmonton mall and would always go here for pretzel chicken strips after late staff meetings. I actually had a friend being harassed by some dirtbag to the point where he grabbed her by the top of the head and neck and tried to kiss her, the bartender came running over and kicked him out immediately. Management came to our shop the next day to personally apologize for the incident and gave us all friends and family discount cards and free lunch. read more

Visited this location tonight with a coworker after dinner. Found the drink prices to be REALLY reasonable! $25 for 4 long islands and a vodka-cran. And apparently they don't charge for Cranberry juice refills which is common at pubs. This location has quite a bit of room to sit down, clean bathrooms, and always enough staff to accommodate the number of patrons. This place rescued my Sunday afternoon. After a debacle at Twisted Kilt I stopped by Hudsons to see if they happened to be playing the Bears vs Panthers game and they were! Molly the bartender at the main bar made me feel welcome and was very sweet about making a conversation with this obvious out of towner. The wings were spicy and the fries were hot. We give this restaurant 5 stars. We are visiting from the states and on Thursday night we decided to try this restaurant after another one at the mall couldn't bother to come out to seat us. We are so glad they didn't because we would of missed a wonderful time at Hudson. Jackie greeted us the door and made us feel so welcome. She answered our questions and we were seated right away. The "greeter" was a snotty young girl who obviously knew nothing about customer service. Went there for the first stop of a bachelorette party and was absolutely appalled at the service we received. Our waitress was extremely unpleasant, to the point where she was literally pushing people in order to clear the table. There were tons of empty glasses on our table which she cleared and didn't offer to refill. At one point my friend was ordering a drink and she looked at my other friend and said "I can't hear what your friend is saying". So my friend said, "well then why don't you move closer?". Went here for our friend's birthday on Friday. We had a group of about 10 people. Sat down and got drinks , everything was fine. Our server comes back and the birthday boy starts ordering another drink. The server then turns to him and in an extremely rude tone says if we're not getting any more drinks until we pay for the ones we have. All of us were completely stunned at how she was addressing us. We finally paid for the drinks and decided to leave. It was one of the worst customer service incidents I've experienced. If she had explained the situation to us we would have 100% understood and obliged. Instead she got 0 tips from a group of 10 and resulted in us leaving. We told the manager and he was very sympathetic to the situation. My one friend ended up paying the server at the end and told her some better customer service would have been appreciated. After that hour and a half, we checked in and they told us another hour which we agreed to and continued to wait.
