Really good food!! Couldn't eat all of it but it was so goooooodd! Waitress is sassy but the food makes up for it LOL

Fried pickles, sadly the pickle was dried up to a crisp, when you picked them up they just broke.

I gave this a 2 star because the atmosphere was very friendly and the waitress was very apologetic and very kind. However the wait was extremely long. We got there around 10:30 and it had a couple tables no biggy. About 30 minutes later a few more tables came in and ordered. Around 11:25 we still had not received our food and the other tables who came in after had received their food. We received our appetizer sampler around 11:45 and the pickles were sadly very burnt to where you pick them up they just crumbled. We told our waitress she apologize brought us more and it was the same thing, so I wouldn't recommend getting the fried pickles.. around 11:45 we received our food and majority of it was cold like it had been sitting for a little bit. And at one point the cooks behind the counter told them to stop taking orders. I will say the waitress did give us a discount and was very apologetic I felt sorry because she had to pick up the slack of everyone else that worked there.

I just want to give a HUGE shout out to the Winfield Huddle House crew. They were slammed when I decided to stop by and they waited on me as if I was the only one in the restaurant. My server Hannah rocked it, she convinced me to try the meat lovers omelet and she was so right!!! I would highly recommend anyone stopping by and giving this restaurant a shot.

Driving down from Memphis to Orlando, we stopped here for dinner. It's a great location off the highway and plenty of parking plus lots of tables that have a handicapped-accessibility sign. The Loos amused me - there was the outline of a cheerleader and a quarterback to signify men vs women. Also lots of blokes wearing camouflage jackets - I counted 4 tables with someone wearing that item of clothing! Our server, Sarah was super awesome and attentive - she verified our order and also kept checking up that we were satisfied with everything. Our meal cost just under $20 incl tip. I got the fish n chips plus two sides - okra that was awesome and the sweet potato fries ended up growing on me. My mum got a large salad and really liked the blue cheese dressing although she wished the salad leaves had more variety instead of just being all iceberg lettuce. Since I also had a few more hours to drive till Atlanta, I also got a coffee to go. So mum and I overall really enjoyed all our meal choices tremendously and much to our surprise, because we were expecting this restaurant to be similar to Waffle House and didn't realize they'd be line cooks in an open kitchen, who made our order fresh or how extensive the menu options were. Food wise, I didn't even mind that "frozen" fish taste because the batter taste was pretty decent and the cod was cooked at a perfect temperature and not over-cooked. Also just great coffee!! I thought it would be a very American dark roast and wasn't looking forward to drinking it, but to my surprise and delight it was a mild & light roast and I enjoyed my cup of joe that helped me make it to Atlanta safely! So overall just really happy that we stopped here and if you are looking for a bite to eat, would recommend. Yelp 203/2017

Restaurant Review: A Second Chance Squandered at Grill 22, Guin, Alabama…read more Each year, my family and I make the journey from Florida to visit relatives in the quiet town of Guin, Alabama. With that tradition comes a recurring hope: to enjoy a satisfying meal rooted in Southern hospitality. Unfortunately, our recent visit to Grill 22 proved once again that not all second chances are worth taking. After a deeply disappointing experience in the past, the restaurant's management had extended an invitation for us to return and give them an opportunity to make things right. Regrettably, that gesture of goodwill was not matched by the quality of the food. If anything, this visit confirmed that Grill 22 remains one of the most underwhelming dining experiences I've had in recent memory. Let's start with the nachos -- or more accurately, a scattered pile of Doritos topped with lukewarm processed cheese, a smattering of black beans, and aggressively salty pickled onions. Calling it an appetizer would be generous; calling it edible would be dishonest. The chicken wings, which could more aptly be described as emaciated pigeons and arrived dry and sinewy -- hardly the juicy, flavorful bar staple one might expect. My wife's choice, the so-called "margarita flatbread," was equally baffling. It bore little resemblance to the classic Margherita flavors. Instead, we were served a sweetened tomato-and-cheese concoction on dough that tasted more like a school cafeteria experiment gone wrong. But perhaps the most egregious offense was the ridiculous pricing. Grill 22 demands a premium price point for what can only be described as gas station-grade food. The ingredients, preparation, and execution fall so far below acceptable standards that it feels insulting to be charged full-service restaurant rates. To be clear, this isn't a case of a kitchen having an off night. This is a systemic failure in culinary judgment and quality control. It's deeply frustrating -- not only because of the wasted time and money, but because no guest, local or visiting, deserves to be served food of this caliber. In a region known for warmth and hearty, soulful meals, Grill 22 is a stark outlier. If you're passing through Guin and find yourself hungry, I'd strongly suggest you take a detour -- even a fast food drive-thru would deliver a better, and more honest, experience.

No preservatives in anything served. I had fried chicken, red potatoes, mac-n-cheese, cole slaw, white beans, cornbread, pineapple casserole, wheat bread and fried catfish. Desserts are made there too. I had fudge pie with homemade vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Everything was absolutely delicious. The butter is churned there as well. Picnic tables are on the front porch and a swing hangs from the ceiling. There is a vintage cash register used when you make payment for your meals. There is also a store with jelly, jams and other items made there. I bought a tee-shirt. I highly recommend visiting here. Bring your appetite. Everything is buffet style. The owner is friendly. Check hours of operation before you show up. Good parking. Clean restrooms. If possible I would give more than 5 Stars. I am not a local. I am visiting my daughter and grandchildren in Florence.
