The food was excellent although the wait time was rather long. However the server couldn't have been less enthusiastic. He was not rude, just very lacksidaisical. He did not return to ask how our meal was or bring drink refills. Not an attitude I would have wanted representing my business. The chicken was rubbery, fries bland, the salad had barely any chicken, I didn't get my bacon, they got the salad wrong at first, and by the time we finished the salad came back. Service - we didn't make it beyond this point. I'll toss it up to being understaffed and I would have gladly accepted that BUT you do not greet your customer with, "Just so you know (rude), there is one table ahead of you - it will be a minute. Yet, I let this slide. However, I'm the customer and I'm paying $12 a plate for subpar breakfast with a server that greets me a second time with, "Just so you know (rude), I'm going to leave these (menus) but it will be 10 or 15 minutes because we have no clean dishes to feed you on." First off, full disclosure - I hate writing bad reviews or any reviews for that matter. I hope the servers and the managers would see this and not flag it. I'm currently sitting outside the restaurant because I'm so furious of what I just experienced that I had the need to write something about it. I'm on my 9th hour driving from TN on the way to NOLA and haven't had dinner yet; so I figured I'd find somewhere to eat and this place looked friendly and like one of those community diners. I came in and saw 2 servers who were having a conversation with each other ( girl and boy ) and I said " Hi, just for one " Both of them looked me for a good 2 seconds and then turned back to each other continued their conversation while I just stood there looking confused AF. okayyy, what?! Anyway, so I brushed it off bc I needed to pee anyway so I went to the restroom. After I'm done, I sat down on one of the booths but it was dirty, so I moved to another one. 2 mins later, the girl server came over and said " are you ordering ? " Me : " yes ... " Her : " is it to go ? " Me : " no... it's for here... but never mind " I'm appalled by what happened. I'm a server myself and have never experienced something like this. I hope management can better train their servers to give a better customer service and restaurant cleanliness. Wow talk about a Waffle House clone! down to the decor it was like the alternate universe of Waffle House! Only difference was that well my food was hot and my eggs were cooked the way I asked for them! The service was good and so was the food. I wish we had one in Sulphur, La.. You can't get waited on here. People that came on after us got drinks and food before we could even get a waitress to our table! We asked for a manager and no one came up. I'm not going to gripe too much, it's a Huddle House so I'm not expecting 5-star gourmet cuisine. And as a long-haul trucker anything tastes good when you run out of things to eat that you brought with you. That said, I ordered a Patty Melt and was pretty unimpressed. A Patty Melt is one of those sandwiches like a Reuben or a Club that no matter where you go, you should know what to expect. Well that's not the case here. First off, everywhere I've ever ordered one it was made on rye bread. Huddle House makes their's on wheat, and if you don't want that your only other option is Texas Toast. Secondly, a Patty Melt should generally consist of alternating layers of burger, GRILLED onions, and cheese...this one looked like all they did was make a grilled cheese, opened it up, then threw on two burger patties w/ a handful of diced RAW onions. Lastly, it came w/ your choice of side and I chose sweet potato fries. These were very good but there were barely even enough to fill a McDonald's small fry sack. Like I said, when you're out on the road and run out of food anything tastes good. But this was not a Patty Melt, only an imposter. read more

Nice looking little restaurant right off the interstate. Staff very friendly but they need to find someone who can cook and buy better quality food. I had the chili, which wasn't bad, something that you would get out of a can. I also ordered the grilled chicken salad. The chicken was rubbery and I could not eat it.
