Wow! I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and y'all!! It was THEE softest biscuit ever! The bacon is real bacon! I was only in town for the weekend but I ate breakfast here twice! Both times it was amazing. Simple yet effective. I wanted to add extra bacon but I didn't need to. There is enough bacon on the sandwich! Service was quick and efficient. You can dine in. I don't know why people are giving this poor ratings. The place is clean. Staff is wonderful. Coffee mug was filled before it was empty over and over. The western omelet was delicious. The ham was smoky and the eggs were fluffy and fresh. I didn't get a picture of the smokehouse platter but it was also very good. This is a chain but they act and cook like a small town restaurant/diner. For the price they can't be beat. If they had French toast we would never go to ihop. read more

Honestly a 3.5 Star if allowed, but I see this place as more GOOD than OK so I gave it 4. I saw very mixed reviews on this location, but let's take into consideration that no matter how you look at it , this is Fast Food. I saw one reviewer said they waited a long time to get seated ( Earth calling reviewer, " Do you wait for a Maitre D at Burger King too? ' smh) ( huge parking lot as it is in a strip mall) The staff, the cooks, the customers MIGHT not be as experienced as what you expect from many other types of restaurants that are more "upscale' Maybe I was lucky that when I went there at 9am on a Saturday as I was the only one there. Service was very good. The food was hot & perfect. The Huddle House brand of coffee was very good. I had a delish fluffy western omelette that was filled with chunks of ham, tomatoes, peppers, onions & cheese. It came with shreaded potatoes that were not greasy at all. I also had the bisquit with sausage gravy which was very good too. I'm picky with biscuits. After eating them all over the South and at many other places up here, I find many of then dry and fall apart easily. These were perfectly moist and held up to the gravy. My group had a solid consensus that this was a 3-star place. The main word I would use for this place is "average". It's just not a place I would think to come back to, honestly: 1. Food was inconsistent. My garden omelette vs. my sister's garden omelette had wildly different ratios of vegetables (mine probably has 3x as many mushrooms, and no tomatoes while hers was essentially all tomatoes) 2. Our waiter was okay. Not bad, but not friendly. He did check in quite a few times which was appreciated. 3. The pancakes are large, and the syrup is good. But they're really dry while also tasting uncooked. It's weird. The top is crispy and the inside was wet. 4. The portions are large, but the food did not taste seasoned. I don't think they even put salt in my omelette. Overall, it's not bad and there were no horrible, glaring problems. It just didn't really compare to other diners in the area in terms of taste and preparation. read more

My wife and I stopped by to pick up equipment at the Verizon store, while turning the corner we noticed this eatery Huddle House. We stopped by and we were greeted by Jayleen, a nice, friendly young lady with great customer service. We sat in a booth and Jayleen took our order. My wife and I decide on the loaded Chili for starters, for entree she opted for Chicken Fried Steak with Grits, eggs, toast & blueberry pancakes. I asked for the Huddle Special, which is: 2 eggs, hash brown over a sausage patty & bacon with gravy and biscuit. The meal was so scrumptious that my wife and I agreed that the pancakes are way better than IHOP's. Kudos to Hector the cook for creating such delicious masterpieces! **EDIT 11-30-21** We ate here yesterday morning and this morning and we were greeted by two friendly and personable ladies: Liz & Ms. Dee, always with warm greetings. With great reviews, decided to swing by here during a weekend morning and had a shocking breakfast experience. Certain food items came out ice cold such as the biscuits and gravy and the pancake was so dense it held the texture of cardboard. Waffle is a thin, flavorless batter that tastes like raw flour and can't even be compared to the waffles you get over at the complementary hotel breakfast. Overall, while prices are cheap and comparable to an IHOP, the food here is really dingy and the service is not very friendly. My wife happened to find THE ONLY HUDDLE HOUSE IN NJ! We were both off yesterday and came here for a late breakfast. It is a very small location compared to one that I went to in PA. The staff seemed a little disorganized... There were 4 employees, and all of them were doing all the jobs, between cleaning tables, hosting, taking orders, and cooking... We got a personal buffet haha! My wife got the meat omelet, and I got the waffles, and the stacked biscuits. It was all delicious!!! My wife really enjoyed the omelet, it was filled with meat and absolutely delicious! I tried a few pieces of ham, and I was in salt heaven! The waffle was perfect! Crispy, and the butter melted so nicely over it. I think that it was margarine though, it didn't matter to me, I really enjoyed it! I really love their biscuits, gravy and sausage. Truly epic combo! Add on a scrambled egg and American Cheese, and hash browns, and wow! Truly spectacular!!!! We also got the blueberry muffin bites and they were really good fresh! but 10 minutes later, you could taste the grease... The place is very clean! No real issues. Don't waste your time. No dressing for salad other than ranch or blue cheese. No brown gravy, no mushroom gravy but they had mushrooms which were canned. Instead of salad I ordered vegetables which were frozen and seemed to have been microwaved as some were still cold. No gravy for mashed potatoes, had to ask for butter. Free waffle on Wednesday which is today. It's plain!! No toppings!! No thanks ... we passed on that as well. It's interesting watching a soccer game in Spanish. I'd been scoping out this spot since I'd never heard of Huddle House and then I researched I knew it was a place my wife and I would love to go to. They haven't had an official grand opening I don't think so they're on a soft open. Came through on a Sunday morning where we received a very friendly greeting to sit wherever we'd like. Wife ordered the MVP breakfast with biscuits and gravy plus a waffle and I got their bacon and sausage stuffed hash browns. My wife's eggs were ordered over medium and only one was cooked to her liking, the other two came out over-hard but to be honest, that was our only issue. For a place that just opened, to have such a minimal thought, that means the place is pretty good. Everyone is super friendly and I think this location is going to be around for a plenty long time! Was in the mood to eat out 1 morning so I decided to go to this place. I ordered an omelet with steak tips, mushrooms, Swiss cheese & hash browns. The omelet was not good at all. Didn't really taste like real eggs; I truly think it was artificial eggs. I ate the rest of the food. The hash browns were mediocre at best. I Definitely wouldn't recommend that meal. i feel like this place is always 50/50. The food is delicious when it's right, but of the 4 times i've ordered from here, they've got it wrong 3 times. They're either forgetting something, giving me the wrong item, or lacking in taste. Thankfully, UberEats was able to credit me back for the items i've had issues with. I liked all the food except for the grits. the grits were bland and literally just had butter in it...but it still somehow didn't taste like anything. I would've rated this place higher, but consistency seems to an issue with this place. From reading the other reviews, i can see that i'm not alone in that. I'd rather have a longer wait time and everything accurate, rather than a quick food delivery and half my order wrong/lacking. read more

Looks like this place is finally turning around for the better! I came in here about 11 months ago and had to walk out due to slow service at that time. I thought I would give it some time and come back again - for all I knew, could be chalked up to a bad day and/or growing pains. Well I came back with my lady and mom-in-law for breakfast today and everything was much better; service was prompt, food came out in a timely manner (about 20 mins after ordering), they took my Yelp coupon for checking in, and the food was very good. FYI - we ordered the pecan pancakes, the smothered hash browns with the bacon and sausage inside. They really enjoyed it. I had the meat lovers omelette with biscuit in sausage gravy; also delicious. There is one concern though. When unwrapping my utensils from the napkin, a small fly came out of the napkin, which leads me to suspect that there may be flies in the kitchen area that could have survived the cold season inside the restaurant. But that is just a suspicion, and since that was just one fly and I didn't see any others looming onto our food, I will give Huddle House the benefit of the doubt and not knock this down to 3 stars. Plus, there are a bunch of other notable places with flies (check out your neighborhood upscale commercialized coffee shop and let me know otherwise), so in my mind the jury is out on restaurant cleanliness standards based on the presence of flies... Anyway, as a place to get some breakfast, I think Huddle House has improved. I know I'll be back! Maybe I will update this review when I go back. read more

I had a very great experience here, I'm a fan of breakfast and I've always wanted to try this place out. I'm very glad I went & had good food there. It's a seat yourself type of place so don't expect to be seated. They also provide the menus right away on the table, so no more waiting for that waiter who's extremely busy. The place has a diner feel to it but much cleaner and modern than your typical NJ diner. They have a good amount of options ranging from breakfast lunch and dinner. I had breakfast combo and the MVP is definitely the way to go if you're starting with breakfast or visiting for the first time. It gives you "a little bit of everything" and that's what you look for in a new place. Anyway, staff was extremely generous and I had no complaints. The only thing I can say is that I'm a huge fan of Turkey Bacon and they didn't have any available the 2 times I went. But it's not the worst thing that could Happen. Absolute horrible visit! The fact that the manager/owner was on premises and allowed this to happen, makes me think he is sabotaging his own business and the brand name! Stood at door for about 2-3 minutes to be seated. Greeted immediately. Another several minutes for server to take drink order and way too many minutes (over 5) to deliver sodas and tea. Took forever to receive food and it was cold. 3 MVP orders. I ordered rye toast was not told they didn't have rye toast until she delivered the white toast. Never offered any type just given. Grits were cold and rather hard. Butter didn't even melt on my waffle. A table next to us sat for a good 30+ minutes after guests left with dishes on it. Our plates were never cleared. There was no time check after food served. I had to wait and request server for drink refill. Asked for check and she came over with a credit card portable machine and just told me total. Good thing I asked to see a check which I had to look on the screen of the portable credit card machine because they didn't have paper or it was jammed. Got 2 different stories on it. They charged me $1.99 for my toast that was supposed to be included in the MVP with the grits. Then she tells me the manager said I'm responsible for it because I ordered toast. I later was told he was the owner. I refused to pay and told her to tell him to read the menu, grits and toast it says! She couldn't remove it, and needed him to. Then she told me the other server needed to remove it. Honestly we shouldn't have paid anything for this horrible experience. They finally corrected my bill and couldn't give me a receipt. I was there for almost 2.5 hours which is uncalled for! I was still over charged. 3 MVP's at $9.99 each and 2 sodas and a hot tea at $2.59 each is $37.74 plus tax (6.625%) $2.50 is $40.24. I was charged $40.38 which means they taxed me on the $1.99 toast that I wasn't supposed to be charged for. I have been here several times and it used to be ok service, last 2 times have been a nightmare! Absolutely horrible! Owner/management needs to improve or this place is going down. There were 4 people today that stood at the front door to be seated and waited 5 minutes and turned around and left. The place is not cleaned well, which gives concerns with Covid. Servers need a lot more training! This is second time I didn't tip because service was so bad and that's management/ownership fault. 4 tables and 2 servers - not busy! Service should have been great! Grits were tasteless and undercooked (To be fair, it's a rarity when you find decent grits north of Virginia, but if you're going to put it on your menu, then you should cook it correctly.) Biscuits also sucked. Bland and doughy. The mixed. I ordered turkey sausage, which came out like two hockey pucks. However, I asked for them to be redone, and they were cooked just fine the second time around. I'm debating between a 3 and 4 star rating. We had seen the ten meals under $5 billboard on Route 21. That was enough to peak our interest. When we investigated further we found out that they also serve breakfast all day. Being a breakfast for all meals kind of guy, I had to try. Just finished having breakfast with my wife. We were pleasantly delighted during our entire meal experience. The menu was quite extensive but had the usual suspects. What stood out for me were the specialty pancakes which they called sweet cakes. We tried the Oreo and the butter pecan. So good! Serving them with warm syrup was a nice touch. Another notable, the side order for my meal was biscuits with sausage gravy. That was a definite win. As with any food establishment, my gauge is whether or not I would want to return. The answer to that is, yes. We might even come back later today to try dinner! read more

Unfortunately, they decided to delete my comment. Here goes: My adult kids and I arrived at Huddle House at 12:45 PM on Monday, May 28. A server walked past us and said, "Sit anywhere". Okay, no problem. There were plenty of tables available. That was the last time anyone spoke to us. We sat down and we waited....and waited....and waited.... We didn't even get a glass of water. After waiting for 25 minutes without so much as a "be right with you", we decided to leave. We don't eat cheap and we tip really, REALLY well because all three of us have been in the food service industry at different points of our lives. We get how stressful it can be, especially in a new establishment. But to totally ignore patrons and then delete their comment just shows a lack of customer service skills. We won't be back. read more
