I wanted to see if all the hype is real. The gas station/convenience store is large and pristine. Gas was priced the lowest that I've seen in a long time at $2.52 a gallon. The gas pumps have a lot going on, covered with ads and daily specials. Air pumps for inflating tires are modern and free! Inside, the store is spacious and clean. I was welcomed when I entered. The staff were friendly and helpful. A $6 special offering any sandwich, assorted chips and small soft drink caught my eye. I ordered at a kiosk, which took me a few minutes to master. I ordered the Crispy Bacon Ranch Chicken. The sandwiches are made to order with toppings of your choice. I paid for my order and picked out some of the Herr Old Bay chips and poured a coke. The soda machine does require advanced tech skills. I couldn't figure out the ice, but it was ok. The sandwich came out fairly quickly, giving me time to look around. They carry premade breakfast sandwiches, locally prepared donuts, fruit, bottled drinks, snacks and everything you'd expect at a convenience store. My sandwich was hot. For fast food and the inexpensive price, the sandwich was a great deal. The clerk told me that the specials change regularly. Last week, they had a breakfast special. They have restrooms and plenty of accessible parking. I was disappointed that there were no tables to eat. (I hate to eat in my car.) In general, if you're in a hurry, Wawa is a decent option for a reasonably priced meal and getting gas.

The crust is just weird- it's not crispy, not doughy, not soggy or greasy... yet my fingers were covered with grease. The toppings were ok. I have a feeling I might pay for this meal later, if you know what I mean. I wouldn't go as far as to say it was bad, but it also wasn't good enough for me to want it again. It would do in a bind, I guess. It's gas station pizza- I probably should not have expected much. I was also surprised that the pizza box was not sealed in any way. Most pizza delivery around here uses tape or stickers to make the box tamper proof, but my box was slightly open.

I don't typically leave a tip on carryout orders, but because this was such a large order, I made a point to tip. It was disappointing to hear that despite that, no one offered such a simple act of assistance. While I wasn't expecting anyone to carry the pizzas to the car, holding the door open or asking if she needed a hand would have gone a long way. I wanted to bring this to your attention because the food was truly excellent, and I'd like to continue ordering from Pizza Uncommon in the future. It is usually my kids' go-to option when they want a burger, even more than that other chain from Wisconsin. This Freddy's location, though, was a little rough around the edges. The tables were dirty and askew, it took almost 25 minutes to receive our food, and the restaurant was smoky from poor ventilation, among other things. Maybe it was just my visit today. I'm hoping it was just an off day. I want to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. And it looked like they were short staffed, which didn't help at all. We got our food and the order was correct and it tasted great, though, so that was a bonus. I got the chili cheese fries, which kinda hit the spot, but Freddy's has shoestring fries, and I think chili cheese fries need those big, thick fries. We were going to get frozen custard sundaes after our meal, but I could tell that they were still struggling to fulfill the drive-thru and online orders, so I didn't step up to the counter to order again. I didn't want to wait another half hour! I still love Freddy's, though. It's hard not to love this chain because the food is so good. So I will probably come back and hope that my next visit is better.
