We live at the Ella Apt's since 9/15 I have noticed that they tow anyone car even if the car registration is up to date and even if you have an apt sticker. They are doing just like Cantù Towing was doing towung people cars just to make some money. My car is up to date on everything and he was trying to tow my car stated Jerry told him to take it and then I called them and he was mad cause he wasn't able to take the car. He didn't even look at the registration he just tried to tow it to make that holiday money. This company will be on the news soon just like Cantù Towing. read more

I needed a tow for an antique automobile and Hub City was recommended by a friend. The office lady made arraignments at a fair price, and I was told the driver would be at my house within 60 minutes. He showed up on time and safely loaded my car onto his flatbed, strapped it down and made the trip safely across town. Had towing arranged through my Insurance provider and Hub City is who was dispatched. Chad called 10 minutes before he would arrive. Chad arrived and was very friendly and professional. He took photos of the vehicle and discussed with me the issues. The car was already scheduled to go to a shop. Chad made multiple checks to the vehicle and ensured it was secure. He confirmed all the details for the shop and went on his way. The truck was a clean rollback that was taken care of. Requested service since they were the closest in proximity to my vehicle that needed to be towed. Proximity does not ensure prompt service. I was told that it would be 2-3 hours before they would be able to get to me. I didn't ask a price since I had no plans to wait 2-3 hours for service. Worst experience ever!! Pulled over because I heard a noise called my ERS the wait was 2 hrs. Then once Hub City picked my Truck up they dropped it. Did 1734.00 worth of damage but act as if it's my fault because the driver said he didn't know what was wrong and towed it on its front wheels which must of the damaged is because it was dragged and I know he had to feel that. Tried to reach someone about a vehicle and the woman in the office answered and said the office was closed (even though that's not what their store hours say online) and we would need to call back the next day. A little while later, my friend called from her cellphone to ask a simple question (after they were "supposedly closed") and the woman had a BAD attitude and said "like I told you before, the office is closed until tomorrow". These ppl are rude and they will do whatever they can to keep your vehicle so that they can RESELL it. Their customer service is TERRIBLE and you can tell that they just want to rack up fees so no one will EVER get their car back!!! I would rate it a negative 10 if I could. They only care about making money, nothing else!!!!!! MOBILE NEEDS TO DO A SWEEP ON THEM TO CHECK THEM OUT ASAP!!!! read more

Talking to Hub City is like being waterboarded by incompetence. I just needed a tow for an un-jumpable dead car in my driveway. Driver: An hour late. Acted weird the entire time he was around my wife. Locked the keys in the car after he dropped it at the mechanic shop. The closest set of back-up keys are in Mobile, I live in Gulf Shores - so we needed someone to unlock it. I called Hub City, who apologized & said they had a car in the same area as the mechanic shop that could get it unlocked. I call the shop an hour and a half later - they tell me car is still locked in the lot. I called Hub City AGAIN to ask what happened to the "local car" in the area & had the most absurd conversation with the dispatcher woman. She REFUSED to let me speak to anyone else & continued to push responsibility to anyone but her driver. (In absolutely idiotic ways) At one point she literally accused my insurance company of being the folks at fault for locking the keys in the car. A few choice quotes: _________________________________ "We don't provide car unlocking services, I don't know who told you someone was on the way, they were wrong." "How do you know there was someone at the counter at the shop? Maybe he didn't have anyone to give the keys to." "You told him to leave the keys in the car," - I didn't. "Your wife did, then" - No, she didn't. "Someone did." - No, they didn't. "I know someone did." - How could you possibly know this? *silence* ________________________________________ So on so forth. Credit where credit's due - this awful woman did NOT hang up on me even after taking considerable abuse. If someone pays her to prevent themselves from being bothered (or paying for mistakes they've caused) she does a phenomenal job. I say this with absolutely 0 sarcasm. Anyway, because of the lost time, the shop might have to keep my car over the weekend instead of identifying the problem Thurs. to have the parts to the store Friday morning. Save yourself the headache if you have a choice - choose ANYONE but Hub City. They did a seriously impressive job of making my life needlessly more difficult. read more

My daughter lives in Mobile. Today she got stuck in the gravel parking lot of a local business. I am in north Alabama and she called me for help. Hub City Towing was the fifth business I called and the first that promised a reasonable response time. They arrived well under the one hour estimate (about 30 minutes). They driver was very polite and waited about 30 minutes while cars were moved so he could get his truck close enough to free my daughter's car. In the words of my daughter "he was awesome!". Terrible. They cancelled my tow because they couldn't verify the model of my car. They cancelled without telling me, which left me sitting waiting for them until I finally called and found out what happened. The woman on the line was rude about the cancelled appointment and showed no remorse. I called my insurance company back and re-scheduled, asking specifically not to use this company. They also asked for feedback as to who they should go to in my town. I told them this company is unprofessional and lack the understanding that a company who deals in emergency situations should have. Hopefully this will help my insurance company choose a better provider for the next person who gets saddled with this horrible outfit. Update: Bay City Paint and Body ended up towing my car. They estimated 2 hours and when i called almost 3 hours later they said there was nothing they could do It would be another 30 minutes. I voiced my concern about my car not being picked up yet and they cancelled my tow. They were very unprofessional and i would not recommend them to anyone. I wish I could rate this zero! Geico used them to pick up my friends truck. They towed it incorrectly and dropped the vehicle!!! Now they refuse to take responsibility or even apologize! Instead they are blaming it on my friend who is now out of a truck due to their neglect and failure! Geico is having to fight them as well... I'm sure Geico won't be using them again. It's such a shame that a business would not just take responsibility and pay for damages they caused... now instead the have to force my friend to take them to court where they will most likely end up pay much more indeed! Our insurance company called them. We were told it could be up to an hour for a truck. It turned into one hour and 45 minutes. The dispatchers with the towing company were rude and lied to us about the reason why the truck was late. They said the driver was stuck with an accident. The driver said he had to stop for fuel. My alternator died near the Battleship, in the middle of nowhere, in the rain, 10 hrs from my home dealership, on a Saturday morning when nobody wants to do anything. I called USAA for my free towing service and they hooked me up with Hub City. They called me back in minutes and had their guy there in less than 20 minutes. Normally, tow guys just show up and take your car away, but when Ellis showed up he was friendly, courteous, professional, and conscientious about his work. He stayed with me and my girlfriend until Enterprise showed up, saying "I'm not leaving a customer on the side of the road." Just a great guy, a real guardian angel. read more

Today was my first time ever using hub city. My husbands car broke down at work at austal and I seen good reviews so I gave them a shot and I was very satisfied! The driver was a few minutes behind but I expected that because the car was downtown mobile and the driver had to fight the dreaded tunnel traffic and 5 o clock traffic on top of that. The driver did a courtesy call letting us know he was behind schedule. He was very professional I forgot his name young black male with a low buzz cut towing our Malibu. I give him 5 stars! My car is in the same shape it was he didn't even get a scratch on it. The price was very reasonable for the distance! Paid $125 from downtown mobile on the bay to big creek lake, you can't beat that! Also when I scheduled my appointment earlier today the lady I spoke with was very polite. I will definitely use hub city and recommend it to any and everyone! Good job guys! read more
