Only pulmonologist in San Diego county that accepts Medi-Cal. Great guy, but if you have anxiety problems, I don't recommend him.

Coastal Pulmonary Associates - Really backwards impossible advice for DSPD DSPS Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder from Dr. Hsing.

Went here today. Been here before. Both times the front desk workers have been bad. They have…read moreattitude. They insist on me filling out things or doing things that are unnecessary or that I've already done and then do petty things to mess things up. So, before my appointment today I filled out everything about me and my medical health online during a lengthy checkin process. It took me 30 minutes to fully complete it. When I arrived today the woman helping me wanted me to manually fill out paperwork with all of the same information and I refused and said you've already got it all and I'm not filling out duplicate information. She insisted on me giving them my insurance card when I don't have an actual card. I have my info. I've never needed my card. They always have my insurance number and company and info and do not need my physical card or a copy of it to bill the insurance company. But she was insistent and i told her the above. I asked her to cancel an upcoming appointment with another doctor there about this point. In fact I asked her twice to cancel it. She said she would. I got called back for the pulmonologist and he was actually fine. No issues. Come back out to make a followup appointment before I leave per the doctor. Make it with another lady there. I then asked her if the appointment with the other doctor there was canceled like I requested and she said no it was not. I told her to cancel it. She did. She set the followup appointment with me. I left. The previous lady did not cancel it like she said she would. Sigh. I get a text after I left saying the appointment I just made had been moved to the day prior than what I just made. I suspect the First Lady with a bad attitude moved it just to be petty. This is awful customer service. Just not a good experience. She was power tripping. Had an attitude and did things to be petty and to screw with me and my medical stuff. It was a lot of unnecessary friction. A simple check in at the front desk of any medical office should be easy and pleasant. I'd give zero stars because it was that bad. But one star is for the doctor because he was ok. Also, Dr. Hsing their sleep doctor is not a good doctor if you have a circadian sleep disorder like DSPD or DSPS or Non-24 or other. His treatment of me and my condition was the worst I've ever encountered and I've seen many sleep doctors over the years. He is completely backwards about treating those type of disorders and gave bad advice and no realistic help or treatment to me at all. I am extremely knowledgeable about Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder and treatment protocols and he is just absolutely wrong. Attached is the plan he came up with that if he tried to follow it himself he couldn't. It's an impossible plan. If you have DSPD or N24 I'd run to another doctor and skip this place. He's their only sleep doctor. Unfortunately. He may be ok for sleep apnea but not for circadian rhythm sleep disorders. He covers all of their locations. Anyway. Front desk is a real piece of work. I will not be going back after I'm done with the pulmonologist I saw today and the stuff he ordered to get done. In the future I'll find somewhere else to go. I would probably advise the same to anyone reading this.

I have been seeing Dr. Ni‑Cheng Liang for a little over a year now. A friend referred her to me,…read moreand I have since referred others to her as well. She is consistently competent, thorough, smart, and efficient, all while showing genuine care and concern for her patients. Recently, Dr. Liang and Hannah truly came through for me when the clock was ticking -- what a team! I had less than a day to get a provider‑completed oxygen form sent to British Airways in London to ensure I could board a flight the next business day. With the time difference, the window was even smaller. When I realized late at night that this form was required, I got zero sleep. I called the office first thing in the morning, and they were immediately on it. Dr. Liang completed the form quickly, and Hannah called me right away with the necessary questions. Thanks to their urgency and dedication, the form reached London before the deadline. In a pinch, you want a doctor who is not only exceptionally skilled, but one who will take time out of an already busy day to help a patient in need. Dr. Liang is exactly that doctor. Thank you to Dr. Ni‑Cheng Liang, Hannah, and everyone at Scripps Coastal Pulmonology. Your commitment made all the difference.

Having been treated by several Drs, my condition was worsening as the side effects of the inhalers were awful. I had made a referral and was introduced to DrCooper by phone. His opinion was correct, the prior test results were wrong, I was unresponsive to the prior treatments because I was allergic to some ingredients in the medication prescribed prior. He took the time to explain what was going on, what he was doing, and told me he hoped to see me in 1 year. I have not had a bout with emphysema or bronchitis since I've been under his care. Dr. Hooper thought my chronic cough was likely due to post-nasal drip, but my ENT disagreed and said the problem was more likely due to allergic-caused cough-variant asthma. My pulmonary function tests showed some deficiencies, but nothing major. Chest CT was normal except for some port-surgical scarring after left pneumothorax x2 surgical repairs and pleurodesis. I'm getting mixed messages from my doctors, but my cough is much improved after discontinuing Singular.

I used to be very proud to be a volunteer at this particular hospital many years ago. I used to love it so much! I don't know what has happened to this place. It has become very weird and creepy. This hospital used to be one of the good ones. Not anymore! I want to remind everyone that you DO NOT have to answer all the questions they ask you. They act like you do, but you DO NOT have to violate your HIPAA rights. They don't get to pick and choose what information they put down. I would say one thing and they would say something different and that's what was put down. Everyone ignored that I told them my home has black mold in the air ducts and I am medically forced to use the AC 24/7. If you're going there for heart, lung, or kidney stone problems, you don't need to discuss and reevaluate ALL of your entire health history. You should not be forced to and DO NOT need to convince them of what you are already diagnosed with and are dealing with. You should NOT have to deal with their nurses and doctors trying to push you into doing things that would or could hurt you just so they can test you. I'm an electric wheelchair user with many health problems one of which is a Neuro degenerative condition that is going to kill me soon, if I don't obtain proper treatment. I can still transfer, drive short distances, use a walker for a few steps at home only when I am able and if absolutely needed. Everything I do every single day hurts me tremendously and I pay for it dearly every day. I don't even take pain meds or meds in general. I deserve respect! Regardless of my mentioning this, they still tried to get me to walk to the bathroom with a walker instead of using my electric wheelchair which was right next to me. I am already suffering enough and scared, why would I hurt myself more in a very large spacious hospital, just to go to the bathroom when I have my electric wheelchair right next to me? Or I could pee in a bag? Why would ER staff be trying to figure out if I actually need my electric wheelchair or not, by trying to force me to hurt myself? VERY WEIRD AND CREEPY! Being forced to take a few steps at my small and properly set up home is not the same as being forced to walk an entire hospital section just to get to a toilet. They don't even know that I actually have a toilet right next to my bed at home, but they sure were trying to get me to hurt myself. As if I need to prove to them that I need what I already have in my possession. I was there for 3 critical situations that were going on. I was instructed by my cardiologist and by my urologist to go to the ER. My heart, my lungs, and urinary blockage due to kidney stones need help. I was forced to choose only one of my emergencies. Since when?! In the first part of my visit, I don't know if one of them was a doctor, I think she was and the other one was a nurse for sure, but both of them ganged up on me and lied about my left leg. They both lied straight to my face and in front of my son and my friend. It was dark in my room. I told her I had one varicose vein on the back of my left leg and they asked to see it. I showed it to them and they said there was nothing there. Which I know is a damn lie because I see it every day. Scripps is known for their doctors using their nurses to gang up on patients to convince their patient of lies. I am speaking from several experiences and witnessing it being done to others. I have pictures to prove that I'm not lying and that they are the liars. The last time I went to a Scripps Hospital it was in Encinitas. I had a doctor and a nurse gang up on me and arguing with me that Vicodin and hydrocodone are not the same thing. Which was obviously a damn lie! I'm allergic to Vicodin and any form of it, and they risked my life and my family by lying to me and forcing me to test what they were saying. Again using their emergency room patients as guinea pigs and forcing them to prove what they are saying is true. I needed pain meds and it was the only pain medication they would give me regardless of my telling them I was allergic to it. They almost got themselves a very serious lawsuit. Had I been a lesser person, my family would own that hospital. This is Part 1, To be continued in pics...
