So, I searched all over Groupon, Living social and yelp to find the best carpet cleaners. After scrolling/calling through several deals, I decided to go with HSP. It wasn't my fist choice but since I had limited availability on the weekend in San Francisco, HSP was able to accommodate that. Mikko came over to clean the carpet he was polite and professional, understood everything I had explained to him and started cleaning within 15min of arrival. About an hour later he was done with the entire house of 2 bdrm and 1 living rm (950sq ft). I was surprised to see my carpet was clean in some areas, however some of the furniture they had promised to move few feet to get the tight spaces in the corners were not moved. Many other spots in and around the table were not cleaned at all! I told him to clean the few spots, he gladly did it but 10 mins later there was still trash there and the carpet was dry in the area indicating that he rushed through it. There was 1 spot where I dropped a drop of ink it was the size of a penny. I asked him to take it out, he said its not going to come off its too embedded in the carpet. Then I asked him shouldn't the deep cleaning take that out with hot water extract? he said yes but not all stains can come off, Ink stains are very difficult. Anyway at that point I was already disappointed he then charged me 100$ more than the Living Social Deal. Not to mention later that day I sprayed bleach and 409k to the ink stain, rubbed it hard and the stain came off. Note to those looking to get your carpet clean is to be patient my earliest appointment by other companies were 2- 3 weeks out. I wanted it done within 1 week since I was having a bday party at my house therefore I was limited to who I can chose. you do not have to vacuum your carpet prior to getting it cleaned because the cleaners have powerful cleaning machines that can suck in all the garbage. There is a set back to high powered commercial machine that it does not get the edges or corners of the wall properly. I had to vacuum the corner area after he had left. Do move all the furniture yourself, because HSP might not move everything for you. read more
