I am writing my second review for HP Motors and Alex who helped with my transaction for a second time. I came across a 2023 Prius Prime XLE Premium with 4K miles. I had just bought a fairly new Prius for my wife less than a month prior and called him immediately and made him an offer. He replied back within 20 minutes and we came to an agreement on price . I then gave Alex a deposit and he held the car for two weeks till I could come out. I already knew the process and established a relationship as a customer so I was comfortable the car was as it was described . I had many questions prior to pick up and all were answered in a timely manner. When I picked up the car it was detailed , full of gas and ready to go. As I drove the car home I noticed a noise in the strut area. I reached out to Alex and he told me to drive for a while to make sure anything else needed attention so he could address all concerns at once . After two weeks a couple of minor items came up so we scheduled a day for pick up . Alex not only came to me , but brought me a car to drive while mine was being repaired. When my car was returned two days later he brought my car to me at work and we exchanged cars . All the repairs were either done by HP Motors or by a mechanic and no more noises after the repairs was done . Not sure there are many salvaged car dealers out there that do this type of service so I want people to know that Alex is the real deal. My dad told me about this place after getting a good deal on a salvaged repaired plug in prius. That car works great. There wasn't much parking, but they allowed me to park my car in the handicap spot temporarily. I came after almost buying a hybrid battery at another place thinking that was the problem. Luckily I got the error code to come up and that place told me it was an inverter issue, but they couldn't get the parts same day. I brought it to hp motors after that and they did the job for a decent price. I could tell they knew a lot about the cars. He started the car, checked the error code with his computer, and saw it was an inverter issue. He then popped the hood, looked at the coolant, and squeezed some tubing and immediately said the inverter pump was bad and that that needed to be changed before they could tell if anything else had issues. He ordered the parts from toyota and allowed me to pick them up for faster service. I got the parts and he got to my car after finishing up with another customer. I didn't time the repair, but it was maybe 1-2 hours. The price was decent, way better than I was expecting and my car was good as new. I highly recommend this place for prius repairs. They really know their stuff and won't charge an arm and a leg. read more

Took my 2006 Toyota Prius to HR motors after reading their reviews on Yelp. Called in to get a quote on installing four new KYB Strut assemblies and got a great price! Alex greeted me when I first got there and went out to check the parts to ensure they would fit. They got the job done in about an hour, test drove the car and even told me what tire sensors were bad and needed to be replaced. Alex also told me to go get an alignment which I did! Car handles and ride much better and I have no complaints. An unrelated check engine light showed up a couple days later and I spoke to Alex who was more than helpful about it and said he would check it out for free! Chiming in with more praise for HP Motors. After 240 K miles on a 2010 gen 3 Prius, it was burning a lot of oil and engine coolant. HP Motors installed a 70 K miles salvaged engine for $2100 and 25 K miles later, I'm very happy with it. Lots of power, good gas mileage, very little oil consumption, ( all gen 3 use some), and no indication of any problems whatsoever. Soon past the 6 months warranty, but I'm not worried. Pretty sure this engine will run for another 100 K miles without problems, at which point it's probably time to retire the car and get a Tesla. HP Motors hereby recommended. read more

My first purchase from him was three years ago and I have now put 110,000 miles on that car - only oil, gas, tires, and brakes. When I took the car into DMV for the inspection, the inspector said "Are you sure this is a salvaged vehicle?" Yep, they're that good. I am picking up another car from Alex tomorrow. Can't beat the price and he fixes the cars to perfection. If you don't know, the insurance companies total the car if the air bag deploys. Most of the cars that Alex sees have had a headlight, fender and hood damaged. He fixes them and sells them at a great price. No problems with insurance, factory repairs, or dealerships. Don't be afraid to by a salvaged vehicle, but do buy one from someone reputable like Alex. You should plan to own the car for the long run however, as they are more difficult to sell. read more

I was referred by my neighbor to HP Motors after another RED TRIANGLE OF DEATH on my 05 prius. Previous 3rd party technician advise I should not have a problem anymore and here it is for the 3rd time. I decided to go elsewhere and contacted HP Motors and talked to Alex. He gave me a quote over the phone and drove to his shop the next day. Alex was very informative when it comes to Prius. His been on this line for 10yrs or so with Prius repairs. He explained all the details about hybrid battery. Advice that it would be better to replace an entire hybrid battery than spending more $$$ on replacing each module at a time and issue can reoccur. Which happened on my part. Not only Alex is knowledgeable but also went beyond expectations, fixes the loose lip from the liftgate and help me with other issues I needed not related to prius. I brought in a Toyota Prius that I had just bought, and thought it might have a serious problem. HP could have convinced me that I needed expensive repairs, but they didn't do that: they told me that my car was out of gas. ( I am dumb as a rock about cars and I'd never driven a Prius before so didn't recognize the low-gas indicator.) These guys are honest and highly competent, in my brief experience. I bought a salvaged Prius from Alex 2 years ago and have enjoyed this car thoroughly. It was everything he said it would be. The one disadvantage of Priuses (at least my 2011 model) is that the clearance is poor, so that when I accidentally hit a pothole, the front fender came loose. A local mechanic tried to jerry rig it, but his fix didn't take. I happened to be passing through Sacramento and looked up Alex. He fixed it on the spot and his fix was good.
