Normal good products but the baristas on March 22 in the evening were not kind. I asked for a modification to a flight and they said it couldn't be done. They had a Red Bull drink which I just asked for an additional matcha or something. The barista's in the past were more than happy to accommodate and even had suggestions. So I didn't get anything. Then an exchange student asked for whipped cream on her matcha with cold foam but she said she could have one or the other but not both. We would have paid extra. So although they have quality products I will not be going back any time soon. read more

My wife and I drove to the Howling Cow Cafe from Windsor this week for our first visit. The experience wasn't worth the trip. -- The "Triple Berry Smoothie" was unpleasantly tart and the fruit not well blended. For example, my smoothie had an entire large strawberry at the bottom. -- The "Avo Toast" was a thin smear of overly-garlicky substance served on a raw bagel (because the cafe, amazingly, was out of bread). Pro tips for the staff; (1) If a menu item refers to "toast," the bread product has to have seen the inside of a toaster. (2) If you want to see avocado toast done right, visit the Fort Collins Coffeehouse and try their version with feta and balsamic -- superb. -- Most disturbingly, the ice cream was disappointing. Some of the flavors were good, especially the "banana pudding." The overall product, however, didn't seem top-quality. It wasn't that the cafe was busy; we were almost the only ones there. It was rather that the quality of the food, which was our reason for coming, was so defective. Needless to say, we won't be returning. read more

I tried to order the herdsman ($9) and asked for no tomato. The girl at the cash register said she'd have to ring it as a build your own. The same sandwich as a build your own was $11. We asked about the price difference and were told that "she can't put notes in the system so she has to ring it up this way." We both felt like that made no sense so she had the manager come explain that "modifications mess with the inventory and are harder to make so they have to charge more" 1) if tomatoes aren't pre sliced, a customer ordering no tomatoes is saving you time AND money 2) if tomatoes are pre sliced, I saved you time from having to reach into the 1/6 pan to grab the three slices that were on my sandwich. 3)If I had an allergy, this is not an accommodating business practice. Charging customers extra for less food is lazy and slimey. Don't put pre made sandwich options on a menu if you won't allow people to remove toppings. Also your square POS system does allow notes. I managed a restaurant for the last 4 years and can confirm it's user friendly. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place! I love all of the options they have and how creative the menu is! I ordered a cinnamon honey latte and it was delicious! My only qualm with my experience is that none of the drinks were labeled. There was 6 of us and none of the baristas knew which drink was which. A group of us came here after the dairy tour to redeem our free cup of coffee. After being out in the cold, I was looking forward to a nice hot cup of coffee. I just got a plain latte, but it was delicious and was exactly what I needed at the time. The café is super cute and I would've liked to try some other other options especially the ice cream, but it was a cold day and we had just eaten a big breakfast. I loved all the knickknacks and all the cute and local artesian items that were for sale. The line was long and there were lots of other tour members waiting for their drink as well, but it moved pretty quickly, and the staff was very friendly. There was plenty of seating and I liked the Photo Booth option they had. All in all a fun day topped off by a delicious latte. read more

Such a lovely little spot! Came up with my daughter to return some milk bottles for Morning Fresh Dairy that I had received at the Farmer's Market in Fort Collins. Once we got there I decided to try a coffee and a breakfast bagel. Both were quite delicious! Staff were all pleasant and everything came out fairly quick. There is seating both indoors and outdoors. The outdoors is just perfect on a sunny day, it's open and the scenery is beautiful! They have a ton of grass to wander around on and a beautiful fountain to sit by to just enjoy the sunshine. Air is a bit smelly, but what can you expect right next to a dairy farm? Haha! read more

What a cute place!! We came for breakfast before a hike and loved the atmosphere. There's a lot of running water and the view is beautiful. This would be a great place for kids to run around. The menu is limited but they always sell Nosa yogurt made at the farm. You order at the counter and they will help guide you towards good food and coffee drinks to order. I had the veggie sandwich on excellent sourdough bread and black tea. The staff was enthusiastic and the site is cute and well maintained. My only quibble is they don't offer plant milk for those of us who are lactose intolerant. You can purchase a box of plant milk but that's pretty costly for 1 drink. read more

This is an excellent cafe located in the foothills. Its a popular bike stop with plenty of parking, seating and its located inside Morning Fresh Dairy Farm. The staff are the sweetest, happiest and most friendliest. There's plenty of options to choose from. You can get your drink with the freshest milk there is or take your pick from the hot food selections they have or raid their refrigerators for some delicious cheese, yoghurt, milk, etc. Its pretty scenic out here to get your instagram shots, and enjoy a warm beverage on a cold day or soak in the sun with a cold beverage. If you're interested, I would definitely recommend the tour of the farm as well which is pretty inexpensive. Noose Yoghurt is made right here. I had a Matcha Latte which was great and we got a Hot Cocoa, which my wife swears is the best one she's had in the Fort Collins area. We'll be back here for sure! read more

Came here on Friday, August 30th 2024 for the first time at 4:30pm. The girls were absolutely fantastic, kind and attentive. They were very knowledgeable about the products and different menu items. We got iced drinks, some ice cream and some sandwiches. They even brought the drinks and food to the end of the counter near the dining area for us to gather. It was such a wonderful experience we decided to come back a couple days later! We showed up on September 1st, 2024 at 5pm. The girls were different this time and good god were they awful. First off - they told my wife that she couldn't order her drink iced - when she had it iced last time. They clearly looked confused whenever we had questions for the menu and had a very snobby and crappy attitude. The drinks were no where near as good - they quietly whispered that our drinks were done at the register, I almost didn't hear them. It felt like a very negative atmosphere compared to what we had experienced before. Overall feeling slightly disappointed and although I would recommend this place - I'd only recommend others to go IF they have better staff working than the girls that served us the second time. read more

We stop at Howling Cow Cafe at least once a month. Whether picking up yogurt and granola or stopping for a meal, Howling Cow Cafe is charming, and welcoming and hosts delicious food. Recently, I bought a Chicken Pot Pie in the freezer section. Homemade by the Bread Chic of Fort Collins, this pot pie was easy to prepare and scrumptious. White chicken meat and vegetables were substantial in the creamy and delectable sauce. The pie crust was tender and delicious. This is the best pot pie ever- a comfort food for this wintery weather that will bring warmth and coziness. Enjoy. read more

Yay, I'm a fan! Yes, it is definitely off the beaten path, but a great option if you happen to have spent the morning at Lory State Park with your doggo and are looking for a pet-friendly place to refuel. They have a nice patio overlooking a beautiful lawn area with the foothills beyond ... and if your canine pal happens to be with you they are almost certain to get some attention from passing staff or guests returning from tours of the dairy. Naturally their lattes feature milk from Morning Fresh Dairy, and they also support other local purveyors, eg Gibb's Bagels for their breakfast sandwiches. Oh, and the breakfast sandwiches are delicious - my favorite is the Herdsman (ask them to melt the cheese ...) While you stop in, be sure to check out the cold cases for dairy products like every flavor available of Noosa yogurt and this time of year eggnog! This is a horrid restaurant and they have resorted to the "monolith" scam to get more business. The stench of the factory farm dairy next door - Noosa - is gag-able. Ugh. It's definitely a calf-kill dairy - big biz. The food was terrible - gave me a bad stomach ache - "Milkmaid" Breakfast, came out as eggs shaped like McDonalds "eggs" formed in a circle - a cold piece of "cheese" and I had to ask for a toasted bagel - definitely Sysco's lowest tier. The Service sucked because I had to stand while breakfast got cold waiting for my "mocha" to take to my seat myself. A modern automat would have had more ambiance. read more

We stopped by Howling Cow Cafe on the drive from Colorado to Seattle, WA, back in August. We didn't get any beverages since our mugs were already full of coffee, but we decided to get some breakfast sandwiches, and let me tell you: those breakfast sandwiches were the best I've ever had. I'm not kidding. We got the standard egg-bacon-cheese type (I forget the name - maybe the Herdsman Sandwich?) which was good, but the roast beef sandwich concoction (the Farmer Rob Sandwich?) was AH-MAY-ZING. I'm drooling thinking about it now. I'm sad that Howling Cow is so far from Boulder, as it will be difficult to trek to Bellvue for this sandwich when I'm back in town (if it's ever safe to travel ever again........) ...but it was so good, I would consider making that drive. Great atmosphere but make sure if you buy a glass bottled milk that they give you a wooden token so you can return if for the bottle deposit fee. If they don't give you the token they won't give you the deposit fee for returning the bottle and then they treat you as if you stole the bottle. I will not be returning. I've been getting my milk and cream from here for many years - their products are well worth the 35 mile drive to get there. I usually just get my milk and leave, I usually don't get anything that needs to be made. Yesterday, I waited in line for 30 minutes to pay for a gallon of milk and a pint of cream! Ridiculous! If I didn't live so far away I would have left. Everyone ahead of me was ordering sandwiches, milkshakes, latte's , etc... then the cashier would leave to go make milkshakes or whatever. The person couldn't have said "does someone just need to pay for dairy items"? Or better yet - have a separate place to pay for dairy items. With spring coming there are going to be more people going to The Howling Cow, so it seems like there should be a better way to support the long-standing dairy products customers. Ugh! I'm not at the point where I'm ready to stop buying their milk, but I'm just pretty darn pissed that they don't have a better business plan. read more

I love this place. As a cyclist, it is a wonderful place that is off the beaten path to stop and refuel or relax. The cafe serves a variety of coffees, teas, smoothies, and some baked goods. There are also walk up refrigerators stocked full of Noosa Yoghurt, local hummus, fresh milk, sodas, juices, and the like. It is hard to find a place with the charm and local flare that exists here. It's a great support to Colorado and the local community as almost everything sold here is made locally and in Colorado and the FoCo area. Every single flavor of Noosa Yoghurt made is available here, and it's the only place (I know of) making lattes with root beer milk. I usually like to eat my calories rather than drink them, but the root beer latte has such a decadently, creamy foam and such a deliciously unique flavor as to be irresistible. Adding to the experience are the beautiful grounds around the cafe. This morning, we went over to Howling Cow for a light breakfast and coffee. The view from the cafe is beautiful (yes, you can also see the parking lot, but over the car roofs...), and outside the smell of farmland is simply lovely. Inside, the high ceilings and chalkboard menu make the place feel homey yet spacious. It's a neat space. This morning there was some difficulty with the credit card machine, but the staff was kind enough to let us know before we ordered which gave us a chance to assess whether we had enough cash on hand. The staff was cheerful and willing to answer questions! I got a mini noosa yogurt cup (strawberry rhubarb), a blueberry muffin, and a funky monkey. What is a funky monkey, you ask? Well, it's a monkey business (chocolate milk blended with espresso, honey yogurt, and banana) plus some peanut butter. It was DELICIOUS. I could definitely imagine returning for a drink. read more

Terrific place to stop and refresh when biking up from FoCo. Or drive in from Hwy 287. This the located at the Noosa yoghurt factory, which is beautiful. They have a full coffee bar, yoghurt and milk (of course!) in the dairy cases and some hot finger foods. The latte was perfect and the triple berry smoothie made with honey noosa as good as you think it will be. All of this is served up by friendly cheerful baristas. So glad we found it! read more
