Just went here with my son for lunch and was greeted with hostility after questioning why they were yet again out of catfish. Instead of apologizing for my blank trip and inconvenience for the second time in two weeks, a verbal altercation in the lobby with an employee behind the counter takes place. Very poor customer service. They are consistently unprepared , have extreme wait times, and never answer the phone. When they do answer their phone it's as if it's a personal line and with a snarky attitude and tone. My Husband and I try to support Black Businesses , but we will never eat here again. This food is AMAZEBALLS! I had the catfish nuggets plate. And my fiance had the 3pc filet meal. The nuggets were piled up high. It came with fries, pickles, peppers and toast. I decided to stop in yesterday and the prices were actually higher than I expected , I was aware cash only payment. I ordered the 2 piece fillet which comes with crinkled fries , pickles and toast for $8.99 before tax. The size of the fish was good and the best part I didn't have to cook. The creole seasoning was spicy I am from Louisiana I liked dipping my fries in it and used my tabasco for the fish fillets. The food was fried and seasoned well, BUT sanitation seems to be an issue here. This place is in the not so nice part of mesquite and the building is worn down tremendously. I was just waiting for a rat or roach to run by. My stomach was tore up for 2 days after eating here. I couldn't eat or drink anything except water. It seems like they tampered with our food and now we are very sick. Poor customer service. Long wait. Not my favorite restaurant. The service is slow and passive. When I went, the exterior seemed as though it belonged more in the Pleasant Grove or Harlem. The City of Mesquite should and may have an ordinance against such an obtrusive facade. The food is okay, but I've had a lot better.
