This spot shares a space with a barber shop and has so many amazing houseplants. They have good selection of plants, including some hanging and mounted plants. It was very cool to see the mounted plants because not many plant shops have those. I don't need more plants but the selection was so good and the staff were so friendly and nice! I've been curious about air plants and after they answered my questions about how to care for them, I bought a cute small air plant with a cool shape. It was very reasonably priced too.

I still also go to sit in the garden if I need a quiet place to think. There isn't a Ritual Coffee there anymore, but they don't seem to mind if you a being a drink (All Good is around the corner.) As I age, and my janked up knee worsens, and the City puts up barriers for people with mobility issues, I can't always get to my preferred thinking spots in the City's lovely parks. This is a very good substitute with easy parking. We had our wedding reception in Golden Gate Park when we were young and broke. If you have money you could have it here as they rent it out for just such occasions. It would be a lovely venue.

Welcome to Flora Grubb! A week or so ago, I was desperately trying to find the right plants for especially difficult spots in my garden project. I was pressured by time and money as the landscapers were almost done and I was way over my budget, and had been experiencing conflicting advice from Claude, Chat and Gemini. After grilling multiple other garden centers near me, I remembered Flora Grubb, drove across the bridge and rushed to the counter to beg for help. Elena laughed, and like a true medical professional they reviewed every symptom, asked detailed questions about conditions and worked their diagnostic skills, taking me through the magical property introducing me to things I had never considered and double checking the minutiae of size and conditions whenever I expressed doubt. After my first round I found Andee who again offered the same generosity in solving another mystery. The beauty of the plants and the uplifting spirit of both these women were nothing short of healing. As I was ringing out for the second time, I asked about my gardenia and Flora, herself started to laugh - "oh, she won't like it here" she said. When I explained that I wanted to bring a bit of my grandmother into my garden, she smiled and came up with a plan to help me provide the best conditions. I left with a car full of plants, inhaling the lovely smells of the soil and feeling like I had spent the day at a meditation retreat. We are so lucky to have a place like Flora Grubb in the Bay. As the world gets crazier, it is a comfort to know a sanctuary is waiting in Bayview.

The store itself isn't huge, so there was limited space to shop. The employees were so kind and warmly welcomed all the customers. I was impressed by the sheer selection of plants in this tiny store. Every single plant imaginable can be found here, from tiny succulents to leafy monsteras. The selection of orchids was particularly gorgeous. I can't wait for my next plant purchase here!

This is a very lovely plant store in the Japantown mall. It's not a large store but there's a good…read morevariety of plants along with some really interesting containers for plants. The last time I stopped by I couldn't resist getting an octahedron-shaped container for one of my air plants and also a little plant dude. There are a bunch of cool-looking bonsai trees too but I'm not ready to commit to taking care of one of those. My son and I also enjoy gazing up longingly at the Nepenthes (pitcher plants) that hang from above - they all look very healthy with large pitchers and glossy leaves. Maybe one day we'll get one from here. In the meantime we'll keep checking back.

Every time I've gone in with a question, like repotting or why a leaf is doing something weird, someone actually takes the time to walk me through it instead of just pointing at a shelf. They even drilled a drainage hole in a ceramic pot I picked out, no extra charge, which saved me a trip to find a drill. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and a lot of what they carry is grown locally so it's held up well in my apartment despite my not so green thumb. It's become my go to stop whenever I need something for the house. Can't recommend it enough if you want an easy, no pressure nursery with people who actually know plants.

Since I know zilch about gardening but a lot about accidentally growing potatoes on your kitchen counter, I can't tell you much about how robust their inventory is, but I can tell you about their stellar customer service. I was cheerfully greeted upon entering, and after I wandered around the small space for about a minute, I was stopped with a polite, "Can I help you find something?" "Yes, I need... dirt and pots for some flower bulbs." One minute later I had a couple of (utilitarian but perfectly functional) plastic pots in hand and my savior had a giant bag of soil slung over his shoulder. Buff and efficient, which is the best kind of customer service, really. The icing on the cake is that he didn't charge me for the supplies.
