Things are going to get worst for Texas businesses in general when transplants begin to saturate the the local market with skilled professionals, which has already begun. We don't think about what could be happening behind the scenes and we aren't able to make adjustments that can fix a situation if we don't communicate. I absolutely love Dr. Somji, he really cares about his business, his staff, his clients and the product he produces. I have trusted Horizon eye care with my vision since well before Dr. Somji became the owner and will continue to do so. When I changed health care companies it was my intent to use my insurance but knowing my doctor and staff was much more important to me. Thus I come back. The selection they have runs the gamut and I must say plays into my vanity. If I am going to wear glasses I at least want to look stylish. We change our clothes with the season, why shouldn't we change our frames too. Glasses are a necessary evil but our eyes can't be replaced so I trust mine to the best. The customer service is amazing, they've always gone above and beyond for myself and my kids. They've helped my youngest since she was 4 and she's now 11. We've never had a problem here. Most of the frames are actually higher end name brand frames. They do have a smaller collection for frames medicade pays for but that doesn't apply to us.

They try to hold you hostage and force you buy glasses and contacts from there by holding your prescription. I called to simply request that my contact prescription be emailed to me because they did not offer it when I left. Over an hour later, I've received nothing. Then I call to say I hadn't received it, and I was waiting due to being at an eyewear establishment, and I was rudely told that I need to wait because they have customers. The staff is ridiculous as they cannot properly multi task and complete more than one task in a matter of an hour. They always seem frazzled. I will absolutely never return, and I definitely will not be purchasing any of their excessively priced eyewear!

Red flags with billing practices!! I've been wearing glasses…read morefor over 30 years, and this was my first visit to this location. My biggest advice is to educate yourself on what your insurance truly covers before you go. The doctor was good, but the billing process was concerning. Despite having a high-premium insurance plan--where my out-of-pocket cost for new glasses is usually very low--they attempted to increase my payment by adding unnecessary copays and adjusting tier levels to make me pay more. When I contacted my insurance representative to clarify, the office rep did not want to speak with my insurance and went on to inform me that they had actually stopped accepting my insurance, i guess a minute after I got my insurance rep on the line lol! Overall, my experience here raised red flags regarding billing transparency.
