When your fur baby isn't feeling well, it can be incredibly stressful trying to find the right care. Our 12 year-old miniature Schnauzer, Coco, has suffered from pancreatitis for years, so unfortunately we know the warning signs all too well. His latest flare up happened on a Sunday, forcing us to take him to the emergency vet clinic. As usual, they ran tests and prescribed the standard medications that normally have him feeling better within a day. This time, however, things only got worse. By Monday, my husband and I decided it might be time for a fresh set of eyes and a new veterinary clinic. After searching online, we came across Houston Veterinary Clinic ,the only AAHA accredited clinic in Houston County. After reading the reviews, we decided to give them a try. From the moment we called, we felt reassured. We explained what was going on with Coco, and due to the extreme circumstances of his condition they were kind enough to fit him in that same afternoon. When we arrived, the front desk staff greeted us warmly, and we only waited about five minutes before being seen. Dr. Knox was everything you hope for in a veterinarian , knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, and incredibly thorough. He took the time to carefully evaluate Coco, explain the testing process, and discuss a treatment plan along with recommendations for his recovery. What truly stood out to us was the level of care and dedication he showed. He even gave us his personal cell number so we could text him with any questions or concerns regarding Coco's condition or treatment. That level of compassion is rare these days. Most importantly, with Dr. Knox's help, Coco was feeling noticeably better almost immediately after his visit better than he had in days. Seeing our sweet boy finally comfortable again was such a relief. Dr. Knox followed up the next day by text to make sure the treatment was working. We will continue using this clinic for Coco's care moving forward. If you are searching for a veterinary clinic that truly treats your pet like family, I highly recommend this family-owned and operated practice. read more

Great experience! I was in and out in under 10 minutes and they took great care of my kitty

They were just wonderful. My Dexter passed and he's vet was on vacation. They were so kind and accommodating. I felt like my Dexter would be well taken care of. They comforted me at a time that I needed comfort. I highly recommend them. read more

Our female was bleeding below. Our vet ( Warner Robins Animal Clinic) turned us away...saying walk-ins ended at 10 am. We went to Emergency clinic but they were closed. They are only open after hrs. We were desperately trying to find a nearby vet to take our girl to. Dr. Hilliard & staff were attentive, concerned and worked us in. They were a life saver! Turned out she had Pyometra & had to have her uterus removed due to infection. We will continue taking our fur babies to Dr. Hilliard & Son! Thank you all so much for being there for our precious " Luna"! read more

Staff is nice and they treat animals well but you really need to establish boundaries with Houston Vet or they will rob you blind. They will schedule boosters and fecal exams as often as they can. For example, DHLP can be given every 1-3 years but they will default to every one year to get you to return and spend more money when it may not be necessary depending on your pet's environment. Do your own research, but I find their ethics questionable. read more

Staff is so friendly. Fast and efficient. Saw me the day I called. They offer Labrella shots for dogs with arthritis which help tremendously. I'm happy I found this place! read more

I cannot believe the reviews on here for Houston Veterinary Clinic. They are absolutely the BEST in town. Knox is very straight forward and is willing to help explain options and solutions for any issue that has come up with our babies. The techs are awesome, and truly their prices are better than others we tried before we finally found a place we loved. We lost our 14 year old baby in April and leading up to his passing, the whole staff was VERY accommodating and helpful. Afterwards, we got a card and paw/snout print in the mail from the whole staff and also one of the techs who really loved our baby. They're so caring and compassionate but also realistic. Knox would respond to emails or texts after hours if we had questions. You really can't go wrong here.. read more

Houston Veterinary Clinic - Veterinarians Near Me - Warner Robins, Georgia

We have a lot of great veterinarians here. But, Houston Veterinary Clinic takes it a step above. When you call to make an appointment, you aren't having to wait a week or so to get in. Majority of the times, you can get your pet in the same day that you call. The office is set up so that cat owners (myself) are able to be separate from dog owners and that helps to keep the pets calmer. When you go back to have your pet examined the staff takes their time and asks many questions to find out what is going on with your pet. I've met with both Dr. Hilliard's (father and son) and your pet is given a very thorough examination. What I like about them is that they give you options on what they can do for your pets and always talk through the differences and what would be the best option. So, what sets them apart? I recently had to visit the clinic for my cat who turned out to be sicker than we initially thought. Through a few visits and different antibiotics, we ended up having to hospitalize her so that she could get the additional care and IV medications to help her get better. During the course of these visits, it was over the weekend and she wasn't doing good. I texted Dr. Hilliard and told him what was going on. Thinking that it was the weekend, I wasn't sure if he would respond back. Well, I was wrong. He responded back immediately and I was in the clinic first thing Monday at 8 am. I cannot thank this staff enough! They truly care about the pets that come through their door and make sure that owners like me leave knowing that their pet received the best care. read more

I do agree with the other review that it is expensive here.. But I never had bad experience here. We went to Houston Vet Clinic because it is the only AAHA certified clinic in the county. I have a whippet and she like other sighthounds are very sensitive to anesthesia, so before I dropped my pooch to him, I discussed it with him. He has experience with different breeds and their needs. That is why it is important to look at vets who have AAHA certification. I do think they should offer a cash discount, or even a discount if you have insurance. Just something to help push their customers one way or the other. read more

Houston Veterinary Clinic - Veterinarians Near Me - Warner Robins, Georgia

My dogs have been seeing Dr. Knox for 9 years now and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is knowledgeable and friendly, I can tell he genuinely cares about Lyka, Achilles, and Valentine, as he always offers his email and cell phone if there is a chance I might need to follow up or after anesthesia (and he answers if I do have to call!). No, they aren't the cheapest, but the care is unparalleled, and they aren't the most expensive in Warner Robins. They price match on meds, are super responsive to questions and concerns, and I would recommend Dr. Knox to anyone. read more

Went to get my dog checked out didn't have issues that others had. The cost was a couple hundred bucks but it's status quo for vets. The doctor was a professional and seemed to care about the health of my dog. read more

Dr Hilliard III manhandled my 9 pound dog so she clawed him trying to get away. He then dropped her off of the edge of an exam table and charged me $600 for the visit. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed and my dogs are very happy to never see him again. read more

I recently had to take my grandson's small puppy to the Houston Co. clinic. After several calls to other locations, they gladly took in our little "Blue". He was taken from his mother too young & was experiencing trouble urinating. Dr. Hilliard & all of his staff were so compassionate & tried everything to ease the pain little Blue was going through. He did not pull through but I feel his last days, he felt loved & cared for. Thank you for your kindness... Sincerely, Tim Mercer & Kobe Deane read more

My old dog was on his last legs as it was, and the diagnosis from Dr. Hilliard Jr. very much confirmed this. With the meds we were assigned he lived an extra month in comfort, and when it was time Dr. Hilliard III administered the euthanasia. Some of the reviews here had me scared to interact with them, but personally I found Jr. to be a thoughtful and straight forward doctor who was very honest about the situation without being judgmental in any way. Then in the brief time I spent with III he was caring and gentle especially given what his job was that day. The nursing staff was also wonderful, Wendy in particular who worked with us was very kind and compassionate during the procedure. I do not know how the prices compare to other veterinary clinics, but they are about as high as I expected them to be. Given the staff and professionalism that I experienced I can recommend them. read more

This place is way over priced, I went here because they didn't charge a waiting room fee so I thought I would be paying 150. The most. My dog had an ear infection and flea allergies anyway I ended up paying 330.00 he did run a heartworm test and swabbed her ears and placed the swab under a microscope but I don't think it should have been that much. I should have known the place was no good because I was the only person there the 2 times that l did go. at first he was saying 426.00 I told him that was way to high then he seemed to be agitated and gave me the cheaper medicine that did work. When I went back for the second dose he didn't even come out to check on my dog or asked how did she react to the medicine I did tell the assistant that my dog have threw up a few times the assistant told him I guess because I didn't have extra money he didn't even come out He just had the assistant to put the drop in her ear. I will never go back there again he seems money hungry he already got 330 the week before and you can't come out to see about how everything went. Good bye stay empty you won't get rich off of me. read more

The staff is really sweet, and always very helpful. They always make an extra effort to make sure my super skittish dog is as comfortable as possible. When she had an emergency over night, they called me the very next morning to make sure she was alright. They have a price match program as well to help with med cost. One note: The older Hilliard's social skills aren't quite at 100%. He's never intentionally rude, but occasionally he seems to miss facial cues. I can't remember exactly what happened the first time I noticed, but I think we were basically done with the visit and I had paused to see if I could think of any more questions. He missed that "I'm thinking" look on my face and nodded and walked off. I still got my answer, just had to ask one of the office staff to direct it to him. I can tell they care about my pets' health. When I moved across town, I decided to stay with them as my vet because of how well they treated my pets. read more

Not very nice experience. Could not go back with my aged cat who had just been through a traumatic move. and had to wait outside. The doctor lets me go back with my child! Took my cat and will never take my dog. BTW They don't trust petmeds and won't work with you if it involves them. I called back to get some flea control for my kitty and the smallest thing they will sell is a 4 pk of advantage to the tune of over $ 80.00, That tells me they care more about the money than getting care to the critters. There are people here that are unemployed or with a lower income that are responsible and want to provide good care for their animals, I guess they need to go elsewhere. read more

I just cannot say enough good things about Houston Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Knox is such a knowledgeable and compassionate vet and he has honestly been the answer to my prayers. After searching for a vet to help me with a situation that was a little out-of-the-ordinary, he has gone out of his way to work with me. The place is nice, the cost is great and the care is fantastic! The hours are also very good. His staff is extremely friendly and personable and I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the Warner Robins area searching for a veterinarian. You'll be happy to have found this place! I sure am! read more

I have been going to Houston Veterinary Clinic for many years and have always had a great experience there. I've heard that they are more expensive than others, but I've not noticed that in my experience....and remember, the best will usually cost a little more. I love my pets like family and am willing and happy to maybe pay a little more for the best care I can provide for them. This place and these people are the best! read more

I am very pleased with Dr. Jim and Dr. Knox. Both have been very professional and thorough in caring for Sassy. The office staff is caring and friendly. They give Sassy a lot of love during her exams. I am very pleased with the care Sassy receives. read more

So if you love you animals don't take them here. I brought in my cat, who was barely a year old, he had suddenly dropped a lot of weight and wasn't eating normally. He was brought in and they ran TWO tests on him, determined it was tapeworms and sent me on my way with over $400 worth of charges. They charged us for tests they didn't even run and we gave our cat all of the medicines he was prescribed and now less than two weeks later he had to be put down. We took him to another vet and they said the reason he had gotten so sick was because there was fluid built up in his chest that had been building up for quite some time and that at this point he was too sick for any kind of prolonged medicine or procedures of any kind. When we took him to Houston Dr. H didn't even acknowledge his weight loss or run a blood test so honestly if he would've done his job correctly my cat could've potentially been saved. Don't take your animals here, I loved my cat so incredibly much and due to pure laziness and lack of empathy he's no longer with us. I highly consider going somewhere else and don't waste your time here. UPDATE!!!!! Got Hoppers medical records from this vet and he actually tested NEGATIVE for tapeworms and instead of running more tests they just sent him home. Really awful thing to do, can't really get worse that this to be honest. read more

I read the other reviews and have a different experience Dr Hillard saved the life of a stray kitten I found in my yard. She was very ill and today she is healthy and active. He also operated on my other cat and he is coming along great. I am very satisfied with this clinic read more

We got a new puppy and took her in for an intial check up. The vet did a very extensive exam. The staff was very helpful and kind to my animals. We also took our 3 year old cat in for his yearly exam and the vet took the time to ask questions about his history to get a full understanding of his health. This will be our vet from now on. read more
