Love this place, all my animals receive amazing care and they are very respectful. Very good with dogs and cats.

Fairly new to the area, we took our difficult chonk kitty here for a checkup, shots and nail clipping. We felt sure she'd never allow handling of any kind. Dr. Rinehart and the entire staff was excellent. They were able to give her shots, weigh her, give her a check up and clip her nails swiftly, deftly and with such care and compassion. (I was in the room). Doctor gave me tips to help her downsize and never was there any negativity. I am extremely impressed. Dr Rinehart is informative, friendly and his staff is too. Suddenly Smith Animal Hospital is call us every day. ?? When we called on a Friday afternoon at 3:11 because our little boy kitty was lying on the floor whimpering, unable to get up, they told us they could see him the next week or we could go to the emergency clinic. The clinic doesn't open until 6 PM. Our kittys had been patients for a few years. We had to call an less local vet who told us to come ASAP. Sundance had a urinary blockage & was in extreme pain and would have died by the following day. When I called to let them k ow we would not be back & why, the girl seemed just as unconcerned as before. My husband grew up with Felix and Ben and we really liked them. We are all now retired and we sadly find ourselves missing those who were actually concerned about the patients and not just the bucks. read more

Thanks to Dr Kristen Hamsley and her wonderful staff, had an emergency and show up at the last minute at their facility in Perry with a straight injured cat, they took the time to help. We took our rescue babies here for about 10 years after my sister suggested them. All was fine until one day I saw a vet tech throw my elderly sharpei mix up on the scale and injure her leg. I had a long discussion with them and was assured nothing like that would ever happen again. And since we always BOTH went back with them, we would keep a close eye on things. They changed ownership and policies and did not tell us until we were at the counter paying our bill. They helped us decide to change our babies over to sentinel from Heartgard. Then suddenly stopped carrying our sentinel, thus causing us to have to switch their meds yet again! They did not do yearly blood work for my baby's thyroid condition. I inquired about it and was told it wasn't necessary. Then after the covid mess started they suddenly wouldn't allow us to go back with our pets. And experience with them told me this would not do at all....especially since the vet tech who'd thrown our elderly dog onto the scale and hurt her leg was suddenly the new office manager under this new ownership. Btw, our new vet has since straightened out our other baby's thyroid meds from where this vet had allowed the dose to become lacking. Cannot recommend this vet at all! read more

Took our newest four legged family member for his first shots. I was very pleased with the vet and all the staff members. The vets are very informative. Everyone who handled our puppy picked him up and loved on him as if he was one of their own. The office is really clean and the prices are very reasonable. read more

Two dogs, I dogfight...do the math on what happened the day before leaving for Christmas on a planned trip. SAH was amazing in patching up Dog # 1 and performing surgery and yes plastic surgery on dog # 2. They also held them both and provided daily long distance reports.
