Edward was recommended by my parents. I called him at 7 PM on a Wednesday night, and he was at my house 30 minutes later. He fixed my gate in 20 minutes and for a very reasonable price. I will be calling him again and I recommend him to anyone. read more

He took $800 deposit to replace gate mechanism and never did any work. He took the gate panel and control box. I called in the beginning there was always a reason why he couldn't do the work yet. Eduardo was paid an advance for fixing the gate on Sep 24 for a job he committed to last 2-3 days and he priomised to finish it the same week. He stopped responding to requests for updates. Oct 4th he said it was done and ready for install. After several follow-ups and various excuses he installed it on Oct 18th. then he wanted t get paid instantly. His behavior changed completely and he acted completely unprofessional at that point of time. He was unapologetic about his behavior also. While his work quality is good, he is unprofessional in honoring his work commitments and his behavior is erractic. read more

Contractor takes work and cannot meet schedule promises. The access gate to townhome stopped working on Sat. 16May20. Cars locked inside and people were locked out of their homes. We have baby less than 1 yrs in our complex and with Covid-19 threat, I wanted gate fixed promptly, that day. Called Edward around 10 am. He picked up quickly, was polite and took the job. He commited and knew I needed service that day. By noon I had not heard from him. Called and he did not pick up. In meantime, another gate contractor was called and they came and fixed the gate. By 5pm Sat. still had no communication from Rojas Gate also known as Houston Gate Service. I then texted Edward and told him our gate was fixed and that I did not need his services any longer. They were two days late to show up. The estimate didn't match the bill. Just a horrible company.

I live in an 8 townhouse community in Shady Acres. Edward showed up right on time to look at our community gate operator. Even though the timer was set, the gate was not staying open. He was able to track the problem to a faulty circuit board and replaced it immediately. He then serviced the gate operator, the chain and installed our keypad. He also gave us a quote for some other work we would like to have done. He deserves the five stars for: Answering the phone the first time I called. Showing up on time. I spoke with them on a Wednesday morning. They said they could come out and would let me know when soon. I called Wednesday evening and did not receive a response. I texted/called Thursday morning and no response. By Thursday evening, having not heard anything, I left messages cancelling the request. Very good service. Owner came by fix (it just needed to be reset)my gate and taught me the ends and out of my system. Upon completion of work I asked him how much I owed and and his response was that I owed him nothing and that he barely did anything. Of course that would just not do as that I insisted to pay him something. Hard to find service people like this anymore. I reached out to Edward because our long time gate repair company had become very flaky and was looking to find someone to help repair issues a little bit quicker and more reliable than the old co. The first visit he was great. Made it out to our community the day I called him and was able to walk me through how to operate the switch board on operator as well as trim down some of the gate so the arm would not catch as it came through. I was so pleased. I thought we had found our guy. We had a couple of ther items that needed looked after so I gave him the list of what we would liked repaired. He said he would get back with me once he had the parts and could come by to fix. To be completely fair, my schedule got hectic and I did not follow up immediately. But a week or two later I got back with him and he again said hed find the part and get back with me. Nothing. I have then since reached out to him twice more with the same response. As early as this week, he told me that he would get the part and could do the repair. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt over and over again due to how impressed I was on the first visit. Communication is poor if not non existent. If you need a one off thing taken care of maybe but for continued maintenance and on going work, look elsewhere. read more

My gate just needed to be reset but we couldn't find any info on how to do that. I called Rojas and explained. Having read the review by Robert W I was fairly confident that it would be something simple and I'd pay for Edward's time and gas. And I was correct that it was something simple - in fact, so simple that it's embarrassing we didn't figure it out. Nevertheless, he came out and reset it in 30 seconds. He then told me that as a preventative measure I should change the batteries, which he quoted to be $100 for the 2 batteries needed. I looked up the batteries online and found them at $18.99 each. As soon as he saw me looking them up on my phone he was clearly annoyed and told me I wouldn't like the ones available online. When I asked why he couldn't really say. (I've since read that the terminals might be slightly wider than the connectors in the box and, if so, can be fixed with tin snips, file, or inexpensive connectors.) The reason for the two star rating is that his annoyance and demeanor over savvy comparison shopping is unprofessional. He charged me $80 for a service call that consisted of pushing the reset button. Yes, I intended to pay him for his time and gas, but $80 was way too much. I wanted to have a keypad installed but after the near ripoff of $100 for batteries and $80 for pushing the button, I wasn't confident that $150 for a keypad was accurate either. So, no, I cannot recommend this business and will not be using their services again. read more

Paid over $1000 for replacement gate opener, has stopped working several times, constantly having to call to get him to come warranty his work. Does not stand behind his work. Doesn't show up when he says he will. Went 3 months trying to get him out to take care of it. read more

Edward has helped with our gate 3 times. Each time he has done an amazing job. When called he schedules the service right away. Initially I had called other Gate Repair companies and they would just say they needed to replace the whole gate system, Edward was able to service and repair the current gate and did a great job. The most current visit, we had an emergency with the gate and he was able to make it out within 2 hours. I will definitely recommend him to everyone in need of a Gate Repair Service. read more

The gate system on daughter and son in laws house was outdated and didn't work when they move in. I called Edward and he came out next morning to check it out. He troubleshot the problems with the system, I verified what he found and decided this 15 year old system needed updating. We went over all the options, He quoted me a price and three days later he removed the old system, installed the new system and his bill matched his quote. He also hauled the old actuator, battery, box and solar panel off for me. Very professional job, he showed up when he said he would, cleaned up after the job and let me know not to hesitate if calling him if I had any questions. Very satisfied. read more

Poor communication and bad attitude. Ed did not show up for the first appointment. Fixed the gate but charged more than discussed. I paid him trusting his judgment. He promised to send me the receipts. Never sent one even after multiple calls. Would not recommend to hire. read more
