I had jacked the washer off the floor, detached electric and water, trouble-shooting with a YT video showing my precise make, model, year, and issue as I was having. I stopped when I realized that I could not test the capacitor, so called for a repair. (The spin cycle did not engage, and the clothes were still dripping at end of the test cycles I completed: it is a mechanical issue repaired under the machine. By the time "Alvin" (an Eastern European or similar person who spoke very little English, and honestly, gave me the creeps), the Control panel behind the machine needed repair, the machine did not fill or even start a cycle when operated, and he wanted $350 to fix it. which is nearly the cost to replace a basic machine. When I was aghast at the quote, he brokenly began telling me something about "buy a used machine from FB Marketplace"; at first I thought he meant for parts to fix mine, but in reality, I think He was trying to point out that I can spend the money to fix mine, or I could replace mine with another used model from FB, but I would be paying at least $350 to do my laundry again in my basement. I would recommend believing the low ratings on this business and calling someone more established in our community.
