He said he would warranty his work for 1 year, it lasted 3 days and broke. Tried to get him to come back and I received 36 text messages with excuses. Grandfather died, car broke down, car finance fell through, car dealer went to the hospital. He comes across as smooth but he is not a person of good character or scruples. The day of the appointment the technician called and he said he is about the arrive and when I told him I had canceled the appointment he started harassing me with texts and calls and saying I am a monster ( textual words!) Service requested: Water heavily flowing from the back when discharging water from a Maytag Washer. Quality: Poor. Value: Highly overpriced. I was told there was a $99 charge to come out. The cost would be applied to the parts used. The man who came to fix my Maytag washer was prompt, but he had limited tools and knowledge, and he wasted time trying to pry off the washer's front panel with thin putty knives when water was still flowing heavily from the back. Then, when he worked on the back, he told me he could fix it without parts if I would pay $199 and get a 4-month warranty. I thought that was expensive. To move on, I paid the price, but I would be a fool to use this company again. When using the machine, I found a plastic cover on the floor that probably should have been put back in the machine. read more

I never write reviews, but this one deserved one. I just called this morning to make an appointment for someone to come out for my dryer. The gentleman was not friendly and pretty unpleasant to speak with. After resolving the issue on my own, I called the company back and spoke to the same guy to cancel my appointment. He told me he never spoke with me and that the main phone number reaches out to all sorts of different companies. I told him that I know that I spoke to him, but then he told me that there's no need to get "argumentative". All I was doing was trying to cancel my appointment and he was trying to tell me that he never spoke to me in the first place. Saturday, 18Mar2023, he was a no-show. No call back, no text reply, no nothing from him. He cashed the check, and still no response to my three emails (seeing his voice mail was full, I could leave no message). Do I expect to ever hear from Lucas again, probably not. I am torn on taking him to Small Claims Court, but may end up there before it is all over. I just want my repair finished or my money back, minus the service call fee of course. Communication was clearly lacking in the services provided. It was very difficult to get a return phone call or text from either their office number or their technician. After our refrigerator was presumably repaired, we started to have problems with the temperature being too high and things freezing on the bottom drawers. Again, we couldn't get a return phone call. We finally had to call another service company. As it turns out, a new control board had been installed, but not programmed! The technician from new company discovered the issue and fixed it. I called and made an appointment to repair my washer. The day of the appointment I was called saying the technician was not coming because he was held up on a job. I was rescheduled for the next day from 2 to 4 and it was getting close to 5pm with no call or technician. I called in and inquired about my service and I was told they did not know what was going on. I was told that if the technician has not made it by now he's probably not coming. So now it's Saturday after 5 pm and no way to call another company until Monday. This place is very unprofessional, I would definitely not recommend them. read more

He then transfers me to a Christian to make yet another appointment. Christain tell me it will cost $400 plus dollars, without fully understanding what my issue was. Followed by trying to get me to agree to this Service Charge. NO!!!! Then he says: well there's no one available in your area. If the Technician was a No show, then there no one in you area. This company is a complete scam! If I would have agreed to pay them $400 dollars, then they would have honored their "APPLIANCE REPAIR TODAY"... In the end all LIES!! The manufacturer of my wine cooler for my cellar said that Appliance Repair Today was recommended repairman. When Lucas came out he stated he did not work on these units. When advised that it came out it came out of the wall, he said he would work on it. Before I got it out of the wall he pronounced that the compressor was good and it only needed a capacitor. After he removed the protective shroud he did not even check to see if there was any freon in the system. Replaced the capacitor, which he charged $295 to R&R. The same item you can buy at Home Depot for $35. He put it back together and pronounced that it was fixed. I reinstalled the unit in my cellar and when I checked to see it it was blowing cold air all it was doing was producing ambient air. I called the office to tell them that it wasn't fixed and that he had left his manifold gauges behind, which he had not used. They said he would be out in two days. As you can guess by previous reviews, he never showed up. When I called their office and spoke with the office manager( his mom) she said that she didn't know what was going on. I told her about the 40 bad reviews on his website and either she was complicit in his activities or incredibly naïve. The next day she called and said they would refund $95 of my money but couldn't do it till the end of the month. I asked why when he had cashed my check three days before that, why I had to wait so long. The answer that is when he does his books. Needless to say I have ordered a new cooling unit and hoping my wine does not go bad. I will amend my review if in fact I receive a partial refund, however I am not optimistic. read more

I hate to write negative reviews, but as a contractor myself, Lucas' lack of communication, in addition to absconding with the $205 we paid for a part that was never delivered, let alone installed, is simply unthinkable. Lucas came on a Tuesday (6/5/18) to assess our dishwasher & a simple fridge problem; he left with $286.86 of our money with a promise to return Thursday with the needed dw part. I received a call on Thursday that said part had to be ordered in the correct finish, but he'd be out on Monday or Tuesday of the following week. On Monday I was informed he'd be out between 11 & 1 on Tuesday (6/12). My husband & I were trying to get out the door for a 3 hour road trip, but decided we could wait until 1-ish. Well, after getting no response from Lucas within our window, we were getting a bit worried. FINALLY about 1:15, he called to say he was on his way, but coming from a good distance. I told him to come on Friday, we didn't have time to wait. Little did I know how long a wait we had in store. On Tuesday, when we called him off, he said he'd be at our place between 12 & 2 that Friday, and that he "would not miss that wndow!". I texted about 12:30 to see if he was still going to make it by 2. No response. I texted several more times between then & 5:30, when I said, "Forget it. I've already called someone else. Please, refund my money." I even tried calling. No room in the mailbox. No response to texts; nothing. Once I got home, I contacted him via the chat function on his website, then via Facebook Messenger on his business page. Nothing. On Monday, I called the main number & spoke with a woman who assured me she would put my check in the mail. THIS Sunday (6/24), after a week of receiving no money, no text, no call, no nothing, I sent an email off his business site, telling him I would do the only thing I could, which was leave a bad review on several sites, including the one where I found him: our community FB page. On Monday, I tried one.last.time. and actually got Lucas on the phone. Though he offered NO explanation as to why he has been impossible to contact, he promised a refund, in person, on Tuesday- THREE WEEKS after his initial visit (but had to call it off at the last minute. Said he'd come by Wednesday). Why I couldn't just get a simple refund via PayPal, I have no idea! Shortly after I sat to start this review, Lucas called to tell me, once again, he was running late but "hadn't forgotten me." Clearly, he forgot where I live, because it's 6 hours later and I am still down $205. Talk is cheap. Serve, but don't "service." COMMUNICATE, don't ignore. And if you screw up, admit it, for pity's sake! Again, as a contractor myself, I cannot imagine staying in business long if I treated clients like this. One does not take funds, then not deliver or return said money without being harangued for it! It is called Honesty or demonstrating simple Integrity. Things happen, but unless one is thumbless in a hospital bed with a stroke, texting is pretty flippin' simple. In the mean time, 1960 Appliance Repair came by on Saturday, June 16, told us the part we actually needed was $325, then suggested we put that money towards a new dishwasher, which we did. When he did come back, he spent 5 minutes to replace the part and collect his repair fee and when he left the refrigerator still was not working. We had to call another repair place to fix the issue and they confirmed that no new part was ever replaced. Lucas charged for work he never did. Fridge was making a weird noise the Monday after the Super Bowl. I didn't want to leave it running while I was at work, not knowing the ends and outs of electrical work with refrigerators. So I looked up repairmen in my area, saw the one with the highest review and called promptly at 8 AM and left a message. At 9 am got a call back basically asking the same questions as the voicemail I had left. They said give them an hour and they would call me back. I waited until 12 called them back; no pickup. Called again at 1 and left a second message. Long story short, I took the whole day off from work to be completely ignored by this company. They never replied back to me, which cost me a day's work. Last year we learned a valuable lesson after being burned by another local appliance repair man, went on Yelp to find a high rating appliance repair service in our area and was so blessed to find "Same Day Appliance repair" our repairman Nate was very polite and courteous. He explained in detail of what our problem was with our refrigerator and actually came back the very next day with the ordered part and had our refrigerator working again. I set an appointment on 9/17/20 to have my Samsung refrigerator looked at because it was not cooling. After I told Lucas the problem he said the thermistor needed to be replaced. He did that and cleaned the drain tube. He said he was 99% sure that was the problem. The next day I called him and told him the refrigerator was at 42 degrees and the freezer was at 10 degrees. He said he would come back out between noon and 2pm the next day and look at it. He has not come back, and has not returned any of my phone calls or text messages. I have my refrigerator and freezer set for the lowest temperatures available. I finally called the main office and they set an appointment for the next day. I would give zero stars if possible. Lucas Boehler (the owner) came to my home to look at a Sub Zero ice maker that was not working properly. He quoted me $800+ and said he would have to take it with him to repair. I paid him half down. He returned it a week later stating it was fixed, and I paid him the remainder of his fee. It never made ice, so I called him a few days later, he picked it up and said he would check it out and have it back to me in a few days. He no longer answers or returns my calls on either the office number or his cell. It has been more than a month since he has answered my calls or called back. He now not only has the $800+ that I paid him, but my $3000 Sub Zero ice maker as well. Do yourself a favor and research him before you allow him into your home or to remove your property. And pay attention to his negative reviews, as it is easy to have your friends/family post 5 star reviews to drown them out. I will be out almost $4000, once you factor in the money he took, to replace my appliance. I hope I can at least save someone else from the same mistake. read more

We're in the process of moving - so things have been hectic lately. The washing machine hasn't been working well, requiring 2 rinsing cycles to lose all the excess water. Very inconvenient timing. Called several places, but they either could not give an appointment without a 2-week waiting period or straight up recommended replacing the whole unit. I don't understand much about appliances except turning the buttons - but the washer is back in working order and now we also know the dryer is good too. My dishwasher kept shutting off mid-cycle, so Lucas and his brother came out and to take a look at it. They took it apart and found that the control board was basically fried. They went to go buy a new board, installed it, and it works good as new now! The entire process took under two hours (travel time to get the part included), and the price they came up with was definitely fair and reasonable. He will write a receipt that you have to sign that says that you "hereby accept above performance, and charges, as being satisfactory and acknowledge that equipment has left in good condition." He writes "1 year parts and labor warranty". So when you dispute it to your credit card vendor, he provides BOGUS documents for parts he didn't purchase. If you do go with Lucas, do not sign anything. As for him honoring his work - I will not allow him back in to my home. He and another man showed up to install the ice machine that did not require 2 people after 8pm and stayed several hours. My refrigerator was not cooling on a Saturday morning and I needed help fast. I called a few places but none of them could come the same day until I called Appliance Repair Today. Lucas, the owner, handles everything. He answers the calls and does the repairs himself. And most importantly, he was able to be at my house within 1 hr of taking my call. Lucas works quickly but is also careful to not damage any parts during his diagnosis. He determined I had a defrost issue but needed to replace a couple of parts to make the repair. He couldn't completely fix the problem on Saturday but was able to get my fridge working again that same day. He came back on Monday to finish the job. I also was having an issue with my oven. I thought it was going to be a quick fix, but there is a larger issue so I did not have Lucas proceed with the repair. My oven is much older than my fridge and I might just replace it instead. I liked that Lucas didn't try to persuade me to move forward with the repairs. Making the customer happy seems important to him. Lucas does good work and charges a fair price. He also stands behind his work with a 1 year warranty. I wouldn't hesitate to call Lucas again the next time one of my appliances has failed me. read more
