Major League Baseball has forced Houston Astros Martín Maldonado to stop using an illegal maple bat, after he did so in Game 1 of the 2022 World Series. Also, what was Astros Framber Valdez rubbing onto the ball last night, prior to pitching? https://twitter.com/i/status/1586514513666637824 For some folks, competition isn't the point; games don't have meaning if they can't find a way to cheat. Perhaps the Astros just can't help themselves.

Astro-logically speaking this is one of the best teams out there. Considering Houston is the 4th city of America, a huge market and one which likes sports as much as the next town (to some degree), it doesn't have a marquee team that everyone here loves. The Astros have, more than any other, emerged as that team. They're very beloved by the Latin community because of people like Altuve, and because of bringing championships to Houston, a city that needs and deserves them more than most. So yes, the Astros are a very good baseball team which represent the city of Houston better than any of the other teams, although the Rockets are a close second, in terms of putting things on the shelves of the trophy cabinet, and in representing the Latin community, which makes up more than half of Houston's population, and this is probably why you see more of these shirts around than any other team. The Rockets are kinda good and kind of popular, and manage to bring the odd big name to town which is great, and the Texans are just a major disappointment despite having the marquee stand up guy (JJ Watt) on the team for so long. Now we're going to see if they can step out of his enormous shadow. But regardless, the Texans aren't fanatically followed, and honestly that's what happens if you put a major NFL franchise, which is a sport mainly followed by some demographics, in a town that is not famous for those demographics. Houston should continue investing in the Dynamo, the Rockets, and especially the Astros since they're already by far the most beloved team in town.

I have experienced many MLB games live in person and enjoy the Houston Astros games. The atmosphere begins around the stadium with fan's excitement in the surrounding bars and hotel lobbies. As you enter the stadium there is a fan festival and lots of food and drink choices. Batting practice always draw a huge crowd where kids try to catch a ball but unfortunately like any ballgame see many adults in the mix. The stadium is very fan friendly and easy to explore. The stadium has great seating options. The retractable roof sometimes is open but mostly to let fans see an after game fireworks display. You will find team stores located all over where they stock different items. The stadium feels safe inside and outside. The passionate fan base participate throughout the game providing team encouragement and everyone seems to have a great time. There is even a game day lottery called, "Share 2 Care", where half of the winnings goes to charity raising thousands per game. The players seem to enjoy playing in Houston and gives back to fans in one way or another.

The Houston Astros v the Angels was my first MLB game. It was wonderful! I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. The stadium is clean & offers an array of food options. I highly recommend attending an Astros game!

THE best baseball team!!! We've had the pleasure to meet Peña, Dubin, Chaz and Dusty! Not to mention, Altuve, Soringer, Castro and Devenski. Oh! And Orbit!! So friendly and so gracious! We will forever be fans of the Astros!!

June 24th watched Astro's beat Kansas City 11-3!!! Been to opening game 10 years ago and again today...they're doing so well the last few years that it was nice to see them live. Tickets were behind the dugout...section 319...great view!

As a baseball fan it doesn't get any worse than this... Staining America's pastime like the 1919 Black Sox.. ie White Sox. Using technology to steal signs while during the 2017 postseason. There have been repercussions through 3 different franchises. But it all started in this organization. Suspended by MLB and subsequent firing a GM, plus A.J. Hinch, Alex Cora & Carlos Beltran. At least baseball acted swiftly once an investigation was completed. They have such great core talent, really don't believe that it was necessary to go this route. Could have been serious contenders for many years to come. With all their young home grown players. Now, who knows... This organization has been fined the max amount $5 mil. plus forfeiting first and second round picks for 2 seasons. Current players weren't affected only management and coaches. But it makes one wonder if they did. Get the feeling that this isn't over yet. Just my opinion, they should forfeit the World Series trophy and have no champion from three years ago. Shame on you Astros forever known as cheaters and getting caught doing it. :(

Waiting for the game to begin...best time to get snacks before the lines get crazy!!
    Crystal S.

Overall great experiences. The food is a 3/5, mainly because corn dogs cold, burgers cold, fries not crispy, nachos ok, sausage sold out most times, but Bahama Bucks and Blue Bell never disappoints. The margaritas are delish! I wish hot dogs were made the same like old days...

This is one of the greatest Astros fan of all time.

The half time show is a lot of fun to watch with different contests going and usually a half court shot. At this game they had a battle of bands. Also there was aerobic show of dunks. They also had the rockets power girls dancing away and putting up a show. Throughout the game, there is constant interaction with the fans and all of it is displayed on the big titan tron tv screens. Also around third quarter, the cheer leaders bring fan gear and souvenirs and throw them in the stands for fans to catch. The versions of roller derby here in Houston, including the Northside Fury team, plays on a flat track. That night, Northside Fury was defeated by the Derby Dames but they sure went out in a blaze of glory! We saw big hits, high speed falls, and even a player get a minor concussion. It was INTENSE. I'm glad I wasn't out there! It was a blast though watching from the sidelines. My friends and I enjoyed our cooler full of ice cold craft beers. Yes.. that's right. The event was BYOB! The bout lasted over two hours so by the end of the game, we were all feeling good and in a dancin' kinda mood. And then the announcer said: Free open skate time! Half of us laced up roller skates. The other half opted for roller blades. I hadn't skated in 10 years so I went slow. Several toddlers skating with PVC tripod walkers lapped me on the rink. At the time of writing…read morethis review, they rank among the bottom five in terms of both regular season and postseason win percentage. However, the Texans are also the NFL's newest team. They joined the league in 2002. Most of the NFL's teams were established in the 1970s or earlier, though there was a small group that joined in the 90s: the Baltimore Ravens (1996), Jacksonville Jaguars (1995), and Carolina Panthers (1995). If you look at the league's four newest teams - Texans, Ravens, Jaguars, Panthers - only the Ravens have won a Super Bowl. Baltimore has won two, in fact: XXXV in 2001 (2000 season) and XLVII in 2013 (2012 season). The Panthers made it to two Super Bowls, but didn't win either of them: XXXVIII in 2004 (2003 season) and 50 in 2016 (2015 season). Both the Texans and Jaguars have zero Super Bowl appearances. They're two of only four teams to have never reached a Super Bowl. On average, the Texans have performed better than than the Jaguars with more division championships (AFC South) and playoff appearances. The Texans had decent success from the 2011 through 2019 seasons with six playoff appearances in nine seasons (67% appearance rate). This approximately decade-long stretch was primarily led by head coaches Gary Kubiak and Bill O'Brien. Kubiak would go on to win the aforementioned Super Bowl 50 as head coach of the Denver Broncos. I'm a fan of O'Brien because he was the offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech when I was a student at Georgia Tech. O'Brien worked at Georgia Tech from 1995 to 2002. Those were some great years for our football team. O'Brien is currently the OC and quarterbacks coach for Nick Saban at Alabama. JJ Watt, one of the greatest defensive linemen of all time, was drafted by the Texans with the 11th pick in the 2011 draft. Watt played for the Texans through the 2020 season -- 10 years a Texan. He racked up three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards (2012, 2014, 2015) while in Houston. Watt's three DPOY awards tie him with two other defensive greats, Aaron Donald and Lawrence Taylor, for most DPOY awards won. Watt left the Texans last year (2021) and now plays for the Arizona Cardinals. He was no doubt a big loss for the franchise and the Greater Houston community. Since Bill O'Brien, the Texans have had a fast-moving coaching carousel with four different head coaches in just the last three seasons: O'Brien and Romeo Crennel in 2020, David Culley in 2021, and now Lovie Smith in 2022.
