On Saturday morning I walked out on the front balcony to take look at this beautiful lake early in the morning. The guest next door (Daniel) and I started talking. I told her I want to take family out on a boat and so questions revolved around what kind of boat should I rent etc....She suggested to contact her friend Captain Michele and let her take all of us out. The best suggestion ever! Michele immediately returned my call and we decided on a half day on her ski boat starting at noon. We drove to Antler's Marina and met Captain Michele at the dock. The best day of summer!! She was super friendly yet professional. We did the paperwork and head out. Tubing, wake boarding, fishing etc. You name it and Michele arranged it all for us. She had all the equipment. All we had to do was show up with our sandwiches and beverages (The good kind). Captain Michele was our designated driver!!! Most fun ever! Or as my 8 year old son put it #bestsummerever!! Smiles and laughs and fun all the way till the evening hours. I would also like to mention that price was very reasonable too. She wasn't pushy at all and didn't upsell me anything - just gave me all the tips and info. We decided on a tandem snowmobile for an hour with a guide. We arrived 20 minutes late but she was so professional - she shortened and made the check in process so easy. There was a cabin with fire where you can change since Deer Mountain was quite cold and was snowing that day desolate the snow drought. She was mega attentive and taught us everything and told us exactly where we were going. She took couple of pictures for us and explained what we'll see had it not been so foggy. On the way back when we stopped at a viewpoint my boyfriend accidentally accelerated and we toppled right where the cliff started - Michele rushed over and helped us up and we genuinely concerned for our well being. We're so grateful she was our guide and can't recommend her enough. She's an amazing person with a beautiful smile and we definitely suggest everyone go snowmobile with her, especially first timers!

Every staff member (houseboats, marina store, maintenance) I encountered was kind, accommodating and helpful. The houseboats are fine enough. We booked and then ended up needing to move our reservation because of the recent heat wave. Todd was very accommodating and changed our date with no problems. They provided GF salad dressing, garlic bread and croutons on top of delicious salmon that my wife loved. Well done. The scenery was great and it was SO nice to sit back and enjoy the ride with my wife, not having to worry about a boat or food. Our oarsman John was nice. Polite, knowledgeable about the river and lots of animals on the river. The boat was great, comfortable and more private with the sun shade. They had some music provided, selections picked John. The not as good My steak was ok, but not overly amazing. Also, the only drinks available were bottled water. While they do allow you to BYOB or wine, it was something that I thought could have improved. John was really chatty, especially during dinner when he stood right beside us as we ate... Also, it would have been nice to have used our selection of music and maybe I should have asked for that. Booking the pontoon was easy and straightforward through their website, with no issues at all. When we arrived, we checked in at the front desk. The boat driver and all passengers are required to use iPads to initial and sign a waiver before getting on the boat. The check-in process was very simple and took about 10 minutes. The employee who helped us was friendly and nice. Once we completed the paperwork, the employee gave us a boat assignment tag, parking pass and directed us to pick up our rental. We headed down to the docks, where we were assigned our pontoon. We then took the boat over to the launch area, loaded all of our gear, and headed out for the day. The pontoon itself was definitely showing its age. It wasn't particularly clean and had cobwebs throughout the boat. It had a hardtop canopy that provided plenty of shade, and while the seats were in decent shape with no holes or tears, they were noticeably dirty. I understand that these are rental boats and they naturally experience a lot of wear and tear, so I wasn't expecting a brand-new boat. However, I do think the overall cleanliness could be improved. That said, the boat was functional and got us where we needed to go without any issues. We found a nice cove, anchored up, and enjoyed the day on the lake. At the end of the day, we returned to the dock, unloaded our gear, and handed the boat back to an employee. The return process was just as easy as the check-in. Once the boat was returned, there was no need to go back into the office or complete any additional paperwork. Overall, despite some of the cleanliness and condition issues with the pontoon, we had a good experience. The booking, check-in, and return processes were all very easy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely consider renting a boat from here again, although I would hope to see some improvements in the cleanliness and upkeep of the boats.

We pulled in on absolute fumes to Bridge Bay at 6:05pm, and were greeted by a very kind young man who let us know unfortunately that they were closed. I begged for a miracle- single lady on a lake with a bunch of kids, and he took me to see his manager to plead my case. I even offered them $100 cash for any gas they might have... manager said no. "Nope, I don't have the codes." No idea what that means... just know he refused to help me. I realize that this was my mistake- but honestly, a gas station should have a way to help people in emergencies. I'd leave a one star review- but the young man was so kind and polite, he was really trying to help, despite his manager. It was a lesson learned about gas, closing times, and I have a new awareness about the lake community- you are really on your own out there.

My 13 family members had a great time. The crew at HH are very good people and very helpful. The natural waterslide and tubing was a highlight of the trip (according to the kids). Wear good water shoes if you visit the waterslide as you have to hike a bit to get there. I have rented houseboats at other marinas on Shata before. Holiday Harbor had more flexible rental schedule (any day out and any day in) than other marinas. The orientation was excellent, office & dock people were great. We brought a propane firepit for s'mores on the shore each night, we brought folding chairs to have on the shore for quiet time with a book and the firepit. The lake was down 53' which for Shasta is nothing as it is so big and deep. It is actually better (IMHO) to have the lake down a bit so you can park the boat on land and use other boats (that use less fuel) for traveling the lake. The family wants to go back soon and that is the best recommendation.

First, they wouldn't sell me a $5 parking pass unless I knew someone who rented a boat, so luckily the last name I used "Hanson" worked. They asked "Scott Hanson?" and I'm like, yeah, sure. Second, parking was full (as one might expect on the Saturday before Memorial Day at 4pm), so we had to park in an overflow lot. This meant getting an escort to the lot and a shuttle back to the harbor AND it meant having to estimate a specific time to come back, which is hard when you're depending on a bunch of party boat people for the ride back (I'm looking at you, Scott Hanson. Still, though I had to go through some hassles, the three guys who helped us, including Joe and Hamilton (who are just Frank and Reynolds shy a yacht rock band) were super friendly and helpful.

We managed to ride it back to the rental company before they closed and swap it out! They had no problems swapping it out...obviously they knew it had issues! They told us...oh it might be the pump, I'll have my husband look at it, maybe you picked up rocks??? Or maybe NOT! This isn't our first time...we're out on the lake every Labor Day! A week and a half later my credit card it charged over $800 for the repair! I've got no description of work preformed or service done. When my sister called to see what the deal was, she was like oh ya, I picked up the parts today and my husbands going to fix it...save you guys some money ! Really!!!! Then I called and she was unwilling to speak to me and HUNG UP ON ME!!!! I guess I'll see you in small claims court! Not only that...bad yelp reviews are going to cost you a lot more!
