I never thought I would find an amazing place like this in Gainesville! We are truly lucky to have a family owned business of watchmakers. Michael took care of an old Cuban piece that holds more sentimental value than anything else. He was so knowledgeable and explaining the parts of the watch. I would come back here with any of my other watches that need service. A++ read more

House of Time - Watch Repair Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

This morning (Friday, 23 January 2026), I paid a visit to House of Time in Gainesville, FL, to see about having an old pocket watch repaired. I handed the watch to the lady working the front showroom and shared what I knew about the watch's provenance; I also mentioned that I had just casually looked online for information about the maker (Wuesteman), the watch itself, etc. Before I could continue (to mention that I was interested in having my watch repaired), the woman, in a very harsh tone, said, "If you are looking for information, you will have to talk to my boss." To say that I was shocked by her abrupt interruption is a gross understatement. I quickly considered how the conversation had progressed up to that point and came to a conclusion. That she assumed I was only looking for information about the watch was, in my opinion, arrogant. After I asked her to return my watch to me, I replied to her - in a similar tone of voice - words to this effect: "You just made a big mistake. I was going to ask if my watch could be repaired. You assumed that I was only looking for information. You ASSUMED that." With that, I walked out the door. Yes, I could have continued with my request after her initial reply. A fully rational person might have been able to do that, but the manner in which she spoke to me soured any desire I might have had to do business with this establishment. I am reminded of the old saying, "You get only one chance to make a first impression." Bearing that in mind, someone with a more personable affect in customer-facing situations would be a great improvement to your business. read more

I brought a watch that I bought online to have authenticated at House of Time. While the watch was real, Michael was so informative and spent some time showing me the poor craftsmanship that was done. He went over and above explaining things about the watch and even did a depth test on the watch which it failed! He didn't even charge me! I'm so happy that I went to House of Time because if I didn't, I would have lost $17K on a defective watch. read more

I used House of Time to resize the band of my new watch. They immediately saw me & completed the adjustment. I was very pleased with their service & experience. Their charge was very reasonable, & I would return again for their wonderful friendly service. read more

I am incredibly happy to have Mike, Vernine, and Lola in our small college town, where I can take any of my watches for service and repair any time. Mike especially is extremely knowledgeable about all kinds of movements from all brands. He has attended trainings from Swatch and Richmond, and is very qualified for servicing various in-house calibers while having full access to original parts. And most importantly, they are passionate about what they do with their professions, not to mention their genuine kindness and warmth I feel every time I enter their shop. I could not recommend the shop enough! read more

I love watches and have quite a few. When I decided to move back to Gainesville, I had presumed I'd likely have to do some traveling to find an awesome watchmaker. Goodness, was I wrong! I found House of Time here in Gainesville while looking for a place to get my Omega Seamaster Polaris bracelet resized and I'm SO glad I did! Incredible work. Everyone is super nice. Super fun to be able to talk about watches and watchmaking while my watch was being worked on. I recommended them to multiple friends before I even made it home, and here I am recommending them now. Amazing experience. I'll definitely be going back! read more

I have been a customer at Lentz for at least 15 years. Both the older and younger generation operating the facility have been among the most helpful and informative service providers I've been around. The renovated facility is a joy to visit. Three years ago, I bought a wonderful clock from them to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with my wife. I was provided expert training on its care and operation and it still functions perfectly for us. Even as simple an operation as having a watch battery replaced gets the same expert level of care and attention one would have if purchasing or repairing a high end watch. read more

Yesterday, Wednesday, I brought my antique watch into House of Time to be looked at and met the owner Michal Blaszcyk for the first time. He routinely takes "walk-ins" Thursday through Saturdays and works by appointment Monday through Wednesday. I would strongly suggest that you call ahead and make an appointment. I did not call ahead but was fortunate enough to catch Michal as he was returning from an errand told him that I had driven 1+ hours to see him. He was extremely gracious and welcomed me into his facility. I use the term facility because although he does sell time pieces, his focus and passion is working on high end, antique or collectable watches. He is both WOSTEP and CW21 ( American Watchmakers- Clockmakers Institute) certified. His facility is maticulas and has the capability if needed to manufacture parts that may no longer be available. He takes the time to look at your timepiece show and review his finding and provide you with an accurate assessment of repairs that my be needed. I truly received an education on watches and watch repair. If you are in need of a place or person to work on you high end, antique or collectable timepiece look no further but beware! Michal is so sought out that it might take in excess of 6 months before he gets to your time piece. Remember, "Haste Makes Waste" Alan R. read more

Went there to adjust the length of my new wrist watch. Received friendly and great service from an old lady there.

This place has extremely rude customer service also they try to is to screw you out of your money for a simple battery replacement telling you that a mavado watch requires all the special tools and special batteries only and what I got done at a local jewelry store for $12 they wanted to charge $200 for read more

I have been doing business with House of Time for better than 20 years. Knowledgeable experts and great service.

What a great place this is! Brought my watch to change the battery and another one to replace the strap. They did it right away, very reasonable price. Also a family business and everyone is really nice. I highly recommend it! read more

Excellent repair! I grew up in Gainesville and am a 2nd generation customer, my parents would not get there close and watches repaired any where else. As a matter of fact I'm fixing to bring in a clock. Great local business read more

I've lived in Gainesville since 1980. Lentz House of Time is the only place I take my watches for service. My 1st visit to their shop decades ago convinced me that I needed to look no further. What separates them from other shops is that they're trained and certified in both watch and clock making not in just routine service and repairs. This mattered in my situation because my treasured Tissot watch needed an involved repair. I left the Tissot with him and called two weeks later. Mike, the owner, explained his diagnosis, and indulged my curiosity about the repair and was charged what I considered a fair price. I couldn't ask for more. They've always been courteous, professional, prompt, and have never given me any reason to be dissatisfied. read more

Friendly & knowledgable employees. I take all my watches and clocks here for quality repairs. Usually there is one-day turnaround for repairs & batteries can be done while you wait. read more

absolutely astounding service! had a watch emergency. they opened up for me after hours! best watch place ever

Horrible!!! Took in 10 watches. Could only afford 8 because of the cost of pressure testing.... I'm not a diver. Did not want them pressure tested. Just wanted a battery..All we're dead in 2 months except one. Do not go there for just a battery. I never will again. read more

I was gifted a nice watch... it stopped. I took it to House of Time, they analyzed the problem, and fixed it. Mike, Vernine, and Adam were great to work with, and I will go back to House of Time whenever I need any "Time-ly" services. read more

On the off chance that my Garmin watch/fitness tracker could be repaired, I took it to Lentz House of Time in Gainesville. I was surprised that they were even interested in taking a look at it! Unfortunately, not everything can be fixed. The two people who helped me (I'm sorry I don't know their names) were so friendly and honest with me. They showed me exactly what was damaged and I could see right away that this couldn't be fixed. I would gladly return to this business, and I will recommend them to friends. read more

I had a Christmas tree ornament that had ceased to operate. I called and was instructed to bring the ornament into the store. Although they were not equipped to repair the ornament, they led me to sources that were in the line of work of which I was so in need. I would highly recommend this business as they understand the customer and if they can't fix it due to something being outside their sphere of expertise, they didn't drop the ball but directed me to people who could handle the needed repair. As well, looking around their showroom, the next time I am in search of a clock or fine wrist watch, I will be coming back to House of Time. read more

Honest, fair and GREAT SERVICE. It just doesn't get any better! He is truly a master watch repairman.

The lady was extremely nice. She looked at the vintage clock i brought in, which needed its hands to be tightened and checked. She charged me nothing! She fixed it and told me to buy energizer battery from now on. Highly recommend! read more

I wouldn't go anywhere else! I'm so glad I found them, and Anna in particular is wonderful. She's always so friendly and helpful when I bring in my handicapped brother's watch band for a repair, which is frequent due to his condition. She's a sweet treasure you just don't find in the "other" stores. Lentz sets the bar high on customer service! Thank you Anna! read more

I was visiting Gainesville on business and my watch battery died. Found this place on Yelp and stopped by. Great decision! They are super nice and extremely thorough. Replaced the battery for a very fair price but first did a test to assess my watch's water seal. Most people would have just popped it open. Highly recommended! read more

I had two watches that I took to Lentz. One needed a new battery and band the other a link removed to fit my wrist. I was in-and-out in less than 30 minutes! The cost for the service and items was perfectly acceptable for the minuscule amount of time I actually spent in the store. Also, there is something eerily pleasant about all those nice clocks they have in the store ticking all at once. I was lucky enough to see the cuckoo clock wall strike 1:00 PM! read more

Excellent place to stop by, replaced my watch battery. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

The lady behind the counter is a true crook go in to have battery replaced on my wife's watch she tells me have to leave it cuz it's such an expensive watch you need special tools and a special battery so I go to Walgreens pick up the battery for $2.17 and replace it by myself in my car in the Walgreens parking lot shame on Lentz House of Time true Crooks read more

Nice place with warm welcome and professional service. Replaced a baby alligator grain watch strap for my Hamilton at a fair price. Satisfied. Would return here if any further help is needed. read more

Had a very rare Rolex that stopped and needed service. I was hesitant to go here as there were so many negative reviews. I went in to see the shop and was very impressed with the test equipment and left the watch. It took a while to get the Rolex parts and within the 6-8 weeks it would take I got a call at 5 that it was finished. These guys are not cheap but they are very good at watch repairs. They don't fix Casio watches as I do know that parts are very hard to get. Anna does not do any fast and dirty repairs but only will "do it the right way". I feel these are solid honest business folks and a pleasure to do business right with the family of owners. They have earned my repeat business. read more

I have been a Rolex owner since 1973, and have had my watch serviced by everyone from Rolex in Dallas to local Rolex repair shops - I can honestly say that my experience with House of Time was outstanding. A few years ago, my GMT-Master was due for a service, and I took it there. They immediately evaluated it, and gave me a very detailed estimate, and noted that there were several non-Rolex parts inside, and recommended replacement with genuine parts. They did a complete overhaul of the watch, and since then, it has never run or looked better. That was 3 years ago, and it continues to run flawlessly. I liked their work so much, I had my son and daughter take THEIR Rolexes to them, and they had the same experience. Today, I dropped off an antique clock for repair, and they offered to check the timing on my GMT-Master - not only was it well within Rolex specs, they even pressure tested the case, and polished the crystal - all for free!!! These are real old-world craftsmen who know what they are doing and are entirely honest and honorable. I HAVE and WILL continue to trust them with my family heirlooms. A great value for great work! read more

We have an antique floor model clock that has been moved (carefully) several times and has continued to run and keep very good time - until the last move. Following the last move, the beat was off and the clock would run for no more the 10-15 minutes. I took the clock in to Lentz and received an estimate for over $2000 for a complete service - and an estimated 4-5 months to complete the job. When asked if there was something less involved they could do to get the clock running, the reply was "we're not allowed to do anything less than what we quoted ......". I picked the clock up and asked another person knowledgeable in clocks for an opinion. I was told that if the clock was properly leveled and the problem persisted (which it did), the problem was probably that the "verge" needed adjusting; and this adjustment was explained. So with no tools, and very little knowledge of clocks, I adjusted the verge and the clock runs fine. So for no cost and 4-5 minutes work, I avoided a $2000+ expenditure and being without the clock 4-5 months. Need I say more? read more

Beware they say the are a Rolex repair station they are not according to Rolex Dallas Texas. I have had a very bad experience there. I brought in my Rolex Steel and Gold Submariner. When I brought the watch in to Lentz it was intact, when I got it back they had intentionally knocked out the pearl piece in the 12 o'clock position. I called Lentz on the intentionally knocked out part they wanted 165.00 to replace it even after it was their fault. They changed their story 3 different times as to why the part was not on my watch when I got it back.. During the same visit I also brought in my wife's lady President gold and steel to get an estimate on cleaning an repairing as necessary. Their appraisal came back at 1270.00 dollars. I became suspicious and called Rolex in Dallas Texas. that is when I found out that they are not an authorized Rolex repair station. Rolex said Rolex cleans and replaces worn parts for 500.00 dollars. Do not do business Lentz they lie they cheat and they break parts on your watches to get business. Beware in my opinion and experience they are not a reputable or honest business. I also found out that their Rolex repairs had to be reworked by authorized dealers because their work was substandard. read more
