4/22/26 This family owned business was highly recommended by a local friend and I had promised to check this place out the next time I was in town. Well Yelpers, I've found my new fave Northwest Arkansas restaurant! TBH, I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived. It looked like a modernized restaurant with an open kitchen. I opened the door to the restaurant and waited to check in and a handsome young boy asked if I had reservations and I advised I didn't and he asked if I wanted to sit indoor or outdoor. He grabbed a menu and helped me to my table. I was quickly greeted by a staff member and given a glass of water and was told that there isn't an assigned server but that multiple staff members will work together to attend my table. After eating American and Italian food all week on my business travels, I was craving some authentic simple home cooked food and this location brought me virtually home for dinner. For those of you that know me or have been following my review journey, have gotten to know my household ethnicities. When I saw the House 1830 Menu, it was a delightful mix of Vietnamese and Laotian food! The color purple was present from accent walls by the kitchen to my cloth napkin on the plate sets, to the "seasonal" menu font color all tie together with staff uniforms including the outdoor purple umbrella above the outdoor seating space. They even have custom pillows on the bench seating with the House 1830 logos. Susana, one of the owners came to greet me and asked if I've been here before or if it's my first time. She shared that her husband Binh was the head chef today and many patrons typically think it's a fusion restaurant but it's really a family inspired menu that keeps the food as authentic as possible. Binh is Vietnamese and their sister in law Bé is Laotian. I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Bé as she was celebrating her birthday elsewhere as she should. Susana shared that her contribution is the inspired cocktail menu...which had so many yummy options that you don't see anywhere else. They had a Lychee Martini on the menu but I see it often everywhere so I ordered the Longan Martini to try and it was delish! I started with my roots and ordered a Vietnamese House Sampler described as a sampling of the crowd favorite starters. Cha Gio | Mini Banh Xeo | Bo Xien Tam for $21. The eggrolls were crispy and had the right amount of filling well seasoned, the Bite-size Banh Xeo shrimp crepes was light and the flash fried marinated beef skewers were seasoned to perfection with a family marinade. Lettuce, cilantro, mint along with the various nuoc cham (dipping sauces) were great! I didn't want to fill up as I wanted one of my favorite Lao dishes Nam Khao - Crispy red curry seasoned rice combined with small chunks of cured pork, and spices. It comes with lettuce, mint, cilantro where you can eat it like a lettuce wrap or eat it as is like fried rice for $18. This light entree for me hit the spot. The staff was exceptional, occasionally stopping g by to check if my water was ok or if I needed anything. I went to check out the bathroom to wash my hands and thought the wall murals were trendy and happy to see the restrooms were clean. I stopped at the open kitchen and complimented the chef and his staff on my delicious meal. They were very cheery and thankful for the compliment. Went back to my table and contemplated another cocktail or dessert but I was really beyond stuffed and figured I'll be back and to save options for my next visit. Chef Binh stopped by my table and we started talking about a little of everything. The restaurant concept, the seasonally inspired menu and to keep things fun for regular diners, shhhh....you didn't hear it from me...but there's even a secret menu that changes often! You'll have to ask or sign up to get the details! You don't get many seasonal menu options from Asian restaurants so I love that they have a seasonal menu and a secret one that only the special members know about! Come check out House 1830! I moved here from Southern California in September and have been trying a lot of restaurants, and this is hands down the best restaurant I have experienced in NWA. The food has incredible depth of flavor and is perfectly cooked with so much care and intention. We shared the combo appetizer, Tiger Steak, a soup, and the curry salmon. Every single dish was absolutely divine. The flavors were bold, balanced, and truly memorable. The staff was just as impressive as the food. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. What started with an intriguing restaurant name and the opportunity to meet Binh "Favorite Nephew" quickly turned into a memorable dining experience from start to finish--so thank you for that warm welcome to Ryan our server as well. We began with several appetizers, and every one of them set the tone for what was to come. The wings were flavorful and perfectly cooked, the egg rolls were crisp with a satisfying bite, and the buns were soft, fresh, and packed with great flavor. Each dish came out beautifully prepared and made it clear that attention to detail matters in this kitchen. For entrées, the Choo Chee Salmon was a standout--rich, well-seasoned, and cooked just right, with flavors that balanced beautifully without overpowering the salmon itself. But the real showstopper of the night was the Suea Rong Hai. It was bold, tender, and packed with flavor--definitely the kind of dish that makes you plan your next visit before you've even finished the first bite. Absolutely divine. I'm so glad that Rogers's growth has included great restaurants like this one. I was immediately captivated by the atmosphere, well decorated and full of friendly staff. One of the owners excitedly greeted us and told us the story of the restaurant after we were seated. They gave great explanations of the menu items and gave recommendations as well. We started with the house sampler. All of it was tasty but we especially enjoyed the Cha Gio and the Bo Xien Tam. Highly recommend either of these. For my entree, I went with the Suea Rong Hai. It was one of those dishes that is so delicious I was thinking about it for days afterwards. The sauce adds some good heat without being too spicy. It's a good sized portion so getting this AND the sampler we found we bit off a little more than we could chew (as opposed to getting one of the starters). Loved every bite though. read more

Team and I were in town for work. After a few days of eating primarily "American" food I was really craving Vietnamese food. Found this place and honestly the food itself exceeded my expectations! I have never been to Arkansas before and it's actually one of 3 Midwest states I've been to all my life. The food was really authentic. We ordered the appetizer platter, fresh salad rolls, bo lúc lắc (sizzling beef), and two plates (my teammates) of the Thai tiger beef. All the sauces were sooo good. Food here is highly recommended... this is coming from a Vietnamese person from SoCal and cooks Vietnamese food regularly. The egg rolls that were part of the sampler platter was one of the best I've had. Oh yeah they had a good drink menu too. My coworker ordered a mixed drink and I tired it... it tasted really good with a hint of salted plum! One thing that struck me as odd was that the service is a little weird. A little kid sat us to our table and our waitress was nice but seemed scared to talk to us (?) also- when we asked for siracha and chili oil.... She didn't tell us there was a charge for it. So when the bill came they charged us a WHOPPING $4 for siracha and like $3.50 for some chili oil that prob came from a store bought jar. I've never had to pay for this ever... anywhere. I know it's a little thing but it's unethical to not give people a heads up about charging for something that usually no one charges for. Not cool. read more

We had a free night to ourselves in Rogers and selected House 1830 from the great reviews. We showed about a half hour before closing on a Thursday night, and the staff was very welcoming. The ambiance is really cool with the open kitchen concept. We had two great servers who popped by often to check on us. I ordered two appetizers, the mini shrimp banh xeo which came with lettuce and fish sauce, and the salt and pepper tofu. Eric R. ordered the green curry chicken stew. The food and service at House 1830 are both incredible. We ate there last night for our anniversary, and I'm so glad we made reservations because the entire restaurant was booked with reservations. We ordered the Saigon 77 cocktail which was so light and perfect for a pre-dinner drink. The wings are a MUST- try the tamarind, sticky, and salt and pepper wings. They were fried and seasoned to perfection. The sticky and salt and pepper wings had layers of light, but deep flavors of fish sauce, anise, etc. We ordered the Vietnamese Shaken Beef with watercress and the Bùn Thit Nuong. The shaken beef comes with the most flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth beef tenderloin. Paired with watercress salad, it was delicious. The Bùn vermicelli was cooked perfectly, the pork had a flavorful sauce and had a beautiful char, and the sauce was tangy and light. The restaurant gifted us a dessert for our anniversary which was a Thai Tea Tiramisu. We ate that in silence because it was that good. I cannot wait to go back. Be sure to make a reservation! Also the Chef and his wife own the restaurant. For ex: Bún Thịt Nướng - it's not bad...it's not GREAT either, and they charge $25 a bowl that you can easily get somewhere else for less than $15 that may even taste better. Highly recommend! From ambiance to service to food, everything was great! We started with cocktails and the sample appetizer. My espresso martini was made with Thai coffee and was so delicious. I recommend the sampler as an appetizer as well. For dinner, I had the Thai chicken coconut curry, and my sister ordered the Laos-style papaya salad with chicken and sticky rice. Being SEA ourselves, both definitely lived up to our expectations. Finally, the mango sticky rice for dessert was perfect. If I were to knock any points, it would be that it is more pricey than your average hole-in-the-wall Asian restaurant, but being more upscale in the menu and presentation is what differentiates them.
