I called a couple of places for pricing and Heart-Shaped Paws was the best price for the best deal. I adopted Foxxi and had her for 6 months before I got her trained, she was always a good dog but now is very attentive to me and is on her way to being the best! I think that Alisha did a great job on not only training Foxxi to listen to me, but she trained me as well! I never knew how many bad habits I was doing towards my dog and she helped me correct that. Thank you!,

My family was on the verge of getting rid of her even though we love her so much. Alisha was calm, walked me through the steps I needed to take to retrain her, answered a ton of questions and never asked for a dime. She was so incredibly helpful and she gave me hope that I can get my dog back on track! Because of this spectacular service I asked her if she would be willing to do some one-on-one training with my dog. We meet this Sunday and I am excited to see what else she can help us with. Her individual rates are fantastic as well. Personally, I think she should charge more, but am definitely not complaining. The only bummer is that she may be moving soon because her husband is in the military. I'm going to take advantage of her services while she is still in town. I cannot express how helpful and open she is! Great job Alisha!!!

Being a rescue dog you can't be absolutely sure what happened to her, except we know she was not treated well. Being armed with this we told the groomers that she may get irritated. Well she did, and they were not super helpful in coming up with a solution. I recommended using a muzzle and they refused. Seemed to me that that's not a very good practice and should be used for both the dog and the groomers safety if a dog is upset. What that left us was a half groomed dog. I called Walkers to find out how they handle dogs who aren't super excited about spa days and was told they handle a lot of irritable dogs and rescue animals. I asked about the muzzle and they said they do use them which relieved me as the other groomers kept saying she was trying to bite the clippers. They charge roughly $65.00 but that is for the works, bath, cut, teeth, nails, ECT. They do require a $30 deposit when booking simply because they have had their share of no shows. Bella has now been to their groomers a few times. She is still difficult to groom and they have asked us to have her vet prescribe something to calm her down. Even after giving her, what in essence was Xanax, she was still irritable per the groomer on her last visit, but she sure was happy when it was over! I am overall satisfied with our visits. They are able to completely trim here and make her look more professional...

She was able to quickly identify the things we were doing that were not working and teach us how to better communicate to our dog. Our beagle also had a lot of aggression with towards other dogs, so we thought. Kate arranged one of our sessions at her friend's house so that her friend and her large German Shepard could stand outside while we worked with our beagle's reaction. Kate immediately saw that our beagle was actually very fearful of the other dog and that what was causing his reaction. Within fifteen minutes we were walking down the street side by side with the German Shepard and its owner without my beagle flipping out! Kate offers sessions in the client's home at a reasonable price. You can pay per session or buy multiple sessions for a discount. As owners of a stubborn, yet oh so cute, beagle, we found our five sessions with Kate to be extremely valuable. We will use what we learned everyday of our lives as dog owners.

At that time the assured me that they would come for the scheduled days and send me pictures or updates regarding my cats. When I left home on Friday I left out 2 bowls of water and 4 dishes of food. Every day that I was away I received pictures and/or updates about my cats via text message. When I arrived home Monday evening (July 12th), both bowls of water only had water covering the bottom and the food was only covering the bottom of ALL 4 food dishes. I have left my cats alone for 2 days in the past, with no one coming into the home to check on them, with the same set up of food and water(2 water bowls and 4 dishes of food). After 2 days of the cats being alone in the past, all of the bowls would still be about 80% full when I returned home. That was not the case when I returned after 4 days away with people supposedly caring for my pets. There is no way that they were filling their food and water daily, like I had contacted for them to do. I was very disappointed, but decided to just pay my bill and move on. I recently requested my keys back and they informed me they would be sent back via certified mail and there was a $20 charge to mail them per our contract. The same contract that stated the cats would be cared for daily. Their audacity in asking for $20 to get my keys back is what prompted me to leave this rating. I normally do not write reviews, but I wanted to warn others who care for their pets as much as I do, to BEWARE OF THIS SERVICE.

My husband and I contacted Paw & Order to inquire about training our anxious dog to go to the…read morebathroom outside rather than inside our house. Paw & Order had some availability for an in-home consultation that would last about 1.5 hours and cost $100. The trainer was named Jamie, and she arrived at our house on time. She had a pleasant personality, and she talked in depth with us about our dog's behaviors and her proposed training techniques. She spent most of the time talking with my husband and me, and she observed my dog only for a couple of minutes in a bed and on the front stoop. Jamie said that Paw & Order uses balanced training that combines positive reinforcement (e.g., adding a desirable stimulus to increase a behavior), negative reinforcement (e.g., removing an aversive stimulus to increase a behavior), positive punishment (e.g., adding an aversive stimulus to reduce a behavior), and negative punishment (e.g., removing a desirable stimulus to reduce behavior). Jamie said that she would initially use positive reinforcement (e.g., a door bell and a lure stick) with my dog to build her confidence. Then she would consider using a choke collar, a prong collar, and an e-collar that feels tingly. She said that she probably would not use the prong collar, but my husband and I would need to consent to using the other collars. At the end of the consultation, Jamie gave us a contract to consider signing. The contract said that we would receive 4-5 sessions within 6 months of the start date, and lessons would typically be scheduled every couple of weeks. The total cost would be $1,835. We would be required to send a weekly text or email about the dog's behavior as well as upload a video showing each household member working with the dog. In the end, my husband and I ended up not hiring Paw & Order to train our dog. (Our adoption contract with the animal shelter had prohibited choke chains, prong collars, and shock collars, and the shelter employee specifically mentioned to not use this company.) I, however, do feel thankful that Jamie gave us some useful training tips, such as using hotdogs, a bell, and a lure stick.
