I ended up getting a pre-packaged chef salad and a black coffee, and both hit the spot. The salad was fresh, satisfying, and exactly what I needed before a busy afternoon of reunion activities. As an added bonus, we received 10% off, which was a nice little perk. The staff was friendly, and the café was convenient and welcoming. Next time I'm back on campus, I'd love to try one of their homemade offerings. For a quick and easy lunch stop, it worked out perfectly. And we had enough seats for our group. I've tried their sandwiches before, and while they're decent, they can be a bit on the dry side. The salads, however, are fantastic! Personally, I prefer the sandwiches at Goldie's. Café Jennie is located on the second floor of the Cornell Store, in a beautifully well-lit area with plenty of natural light. Finding seating can be a challenge since it fills up quickly, and it's easy to see why. Sitting here makes me a thousand times more productive for some reason. It's definitely one of the prettier cafes on campus, though I still think Goldie's ambiance is superior. I give Café Jennie 4 stars for their impressive variety. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll find plenty to satisfy your cravings!

It's a pretty big space with lots of tables, but there were signs up saying that 4 people is the maximum per table (at least outside), so if your family is bigger than 4 you'll have to split up. We sat outside because it was a little quieter, but were warned that there would be bees around. Don't sit outside if you don't want to dine with the bees. We poured some syrup onto an extra plate and sat it on the far side of the table from us, and that actually seemed to somewhat work to keep the bees distracted from our plates. Service was good. Our waiter was nice and attentive enough, and the wait for food wasn't too long even though they seemed busy. I ordered a short stack of pancakes with apples. The short stack of only 2 pancakes doesn't sound like much on paper, but they're massive - as big as your face. I was full with the short stack even without getting the meat on the side. It was easy to finish though because they were great pancakes, very fluffy, filled with pieces of fresh, juicy apple. Very inexpensive. This time (Jul 2026) was like our visit a couple of years ago. The menu was rather short, and we didnt see many middle-of-the-road or ordinary comfort-food offerings. Their local sourdough bread appetizer was fresh and nicely flavored, and we chose the fresh olive oil side just because it's so luscious. We could have had chive-butter. The marinated olives were flavorful and a little spicy. Their NY-cheese board had a tasty selection of soft and hard cheeses. The salads had choices of a chutney-paneer based mix, which was refreshingly creative. And we liked the Farmstand berry-cherry goat-cheese almond salad. These were all appealing. Chickpea salad or stew, tofu or salmon over steamed veggies, or smoked-trout open-face tartine sandwich, each sounded good, but we didnt bite. None of the mains called to us. I guess we just felt that none of those menu items screamed out we-gotta-come-to-this-restaurant. The food tasted like just homemade and fresh, but not exceptional. The food was ok, no complaints, but not a big thrill.
