Loved this spot!! Good for small groups or getting brunch to go. I got a NY Maple Iced Latte in a Large and it was delicious!!! It was the perfect amount of sweet. I also ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, which was a lot better than I was expecting. My friend got the avocado toast. Service was quick too. Hope to be back!

Hound and Mare is a cute little breakfast spot that serves breakfast sandwiches, salads, pastries, and coffee. They have a couple of breakfast sandwich options, but the Melrose stood out to me right away. It has bacon, over easy egg, a slice of crispy cheddar, garlic aioli, and caramelized onions on a toasted sesame bagel. Usually, I'm not a over easy or sunny side up person because I don't like egg yolk, but this whole sandwich with everything made it work for me. It was so tasty and satisfying. I've never had a crispy slice of cheese like this. I enjoyed the sandwich so much that I got it again the next day. I made the mistake of squeezing the sandwich and the egg yolk squirted on my sleeves. It seems like a popular spot. There was a line of people both days I went. The sandwich took about 5 minute wait.

We had the best breakfast on our trip here! The Hound and Mare has such a cool unique vibe and they're obviously a safe space for anyone. We ordered breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Everything came pretty quickly. They have tons of indoor seating and some outdoor seating, but we ended up sitting around the corner outside on the Commons. The bagels were amazing! Chewy and flavorful. The sandwiches were delicious and a great price. $6 for an egg and cheese bagel? Yes please! The coffee was delicious as well. This is the place to go for breakfast!

Super friendly staff and cute ambiance in this tucked away cafe. There are many savory options, drinks, and baked goods to choose from. Their Apple fritter is decent with a crispy exterior, soft pillowy inside with cinnamony apples between the crevices of the dough, and a sugary glaze on the outside. Their chocolate chip cornflake cookie was on the crispier/harder side, whereas I prefer a thicker and chewier cookie. Their breakfast sandwiches are unique, but not my favorite as they can be quite heavy.

A Fantastic cup of coffee. Friendly welcoming staff, and they're more than willing to engage with you, and talk about the music playing. Cute atmosphere. I had the Melrose, which is one of the best BEC sandwiches I have ever had. The caramelized onion with the garlic aioli is a perfect complement to the crispy cheddar egg and bacon. I travel for work, I have been to 90 Food Network places in 39 states. This one's a winner. My only qualm would be that I prefer real coffee cups if I am sitting down, but then this place does a lot of pickup/takeout, so disposable cups make sense. Just a preference.

Cute cafe with a few pastry options and a nice selection of breakfast sandwiches. Coffee was decent and staff were nice. Gets pretty crowded (went on a Sunday) so you may need to wait for a seat if staying.

Hound and Mare is always a classic for me. I went to college in Ithaca, and every time I visit, coming here is a must. The food is always the highlight--my go-to is the OG, a classic BEC, but today I decided to mix it up and try the CoFax. It was delicious--think breakfast sandwich, but with an Asian twist. The ambiance is the perfect mix of casual and cozy, with a modern, minimalist vibe. It's a small space, but there's always a good energy without feeling too cramped. While it's ideal for a quick bite, if you're lucky enough to snag a seat, it's a great spot to enjoy your meal in a laid-back atmosphere. Service is straightforward--you order at an iPad, then wait for your name to be called, which is exactly what you'd expect from a quick breakfast spot. The only downside is the seating--there's rarely enough space to stay and eat, so I usually end up taking my meal to go. But it's a popular spot, so I understand!

The avocado toast was incredible. I highly recommend it. Was a longish line but worth the wait.

Centered in downtown Ithaca, this busy coffee/bakery spot had scrumptious breakfast sandwiches and is a great pick me up for the morning. Wait times are generally 10-15 mins. Parking is hit or miss bur after a drive around you can find a spot within a block or two.

Great breakfast sandwich and good coffee! Nice spot to hangout. Go to coffee shop in Ithaca!

This spot was recommended to me but I never got around to going until recently, and I regret putting it off. Finally. An Ithaca spot that can do BAGELS and BAGEL SANDWICHES properly. Gawd bless. Their cappuccino is pretty nice, too. Ambiance is okay, I feel like you'd just pull up here for the food and not the establishment itself. Service is speedy and they'll call out your order.

The photos looked great and I was super hungry but honestly one of the biggest breakfast letdowns I've ever had, recommend staying away.

I joined Cornell CHAARG, an organization (rather scammy one but that's beyond the point) dedicated…read moreto showing college-aged women that fitness can be fun and fulfilling. Anyways... what did I get out of it? An awesome group of people and well... MIX. Updating my review because MIX deserves a proper shoutout and I haven't done it justice. This place is unequivocally my absolute FAVORITE brunch spot. The selection is vast, the portions are hearty, and the staff? They're the kindest, most accommodating folks you'll meet. It's like they've mastered the art of making you feel right at home. And the food? Oh, the food is ABSOLUTELY divine. Every bite is a delicious reminder of why I've converted to the church of brunch. Seriously, I went from a casual brunch-goer to a full-fledged brunch enthusiast, all thanks to CHAARG for leading me to this culinary gem. My brunch game has never been the same.

I've had brunch, lunch, and dinner at MIX, and all with varying levels of enjoyment. My recent…read morebrunch experience included ordering a Where the West Begins omelette, which includes "Braised short rib, butternut squash, red onion jam, spinach, smoked gouda". I wasn't sure how to feel about butternut squash with everything else (I'm not necessarily a huge squash fan - but I'm trying to learn to enjoy it), but the omelette was decent... it's the other side on my plate that looked less than appetizing. The biscuit was still covered in flour (and who wants to bite down on a clump of flour?), the cheddar hashbrown casserole lacked in flavor, and the brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal just... wasn't doin' it for me. Other recent experiences have been similar... there's usually one item on the plate that's flavorful or imventive (sometimes a main dish, sometimes a side), and the other parts of the plate are lacking. In reality, I think MIX is suffering a bit from rising food costs and inconsistency in their service and offerings. They've also changed the style of their menu from the original tapas-style to now being more typical entree options. Again... they've lost some of their innovative, experimental approach. In terms of ambiance, it really depends. I've been here for a work event and, because of the number of people, it was SO LOUD... they had also done a buffet offering for the event. As you can imagine, the food from the buffet was lacking, but that's often what happens when you're more mass producing your food (and it's left in a chafing dish, trying to be kept warm). On the other hand, I've been here for a dinner on a random night and was able to enjoy one of their Thai noodle bowls (and split some other apps with friends). The reality is that experiences at MIX are... well... a mix. Whether service, menu offerings, etc., I've found MIX's recent inconsistencies to be a disappointment. Will probably only visit in the future if it's suggested by others.

I accidentally missed my reservation because it was the day before and I hadn't realized but he still accommodated and we were able to be seated still in the barstool area. The food is amazing. I always order Eggs "Edinburgh." Best poached eggs I have ever eaten. I used to think poached eggs were mid and then this place opened my third eye. I don't even liked smoked salmon but they do something special here it is so good. I can't remember the dessert's name and its not on the menu but they have this orange/poppyseed/coconut cake that is the best cake I have ever had in my entire life. I feel like I'm glazing so hard it doesn't even sound genuine, but my truth is every single other brunch place is mid compared to here. It is a very cutely decorated place and the servers are so kind. I would go back to Ithaca just for Allechant's Eggs Edinburgh and cake. I think of their food often. I chase that high that those eggs gave me, but nothing ever compares unfortunately, and I am just left disappointed. One day I will be back for you, Allechant.

Great spot for dinner in Ithaca! I love the house-made desserts!…read more I tried the mussels for appetizer which were very good. Not too heavy or salty. For mains I tried the vodka gnocchi and the cod stew. Both were excellent! I think if I were to return I would get the cod stew though- it is much more unique. Only complaint about the gnocchi is I wish there was more cheese on top. Desserts were divine! I love how they display them all on the table by the fireplace! We tried the pumpkin cake and the poppyseed coconut almond cake. I truly don't think I could pick a favorite. I wish the whipped cream was also homemade though. I came for dinner on a weekend night (with reservations). Service was solid. Overall, I would return! I will definitely be coming back to try their brunch!
