Also i rode a Race Horse, that my sister bought, and brought it out to a nice area, close to home. I've been to many Dude Ranches- where my father was allowed to take us children out with him. He taught us to ride. I've galloped many times on a horse, in open land. I didn't need some unknowledgeable woman, telling me what to do. And only addressing myself and my daughter's, on how to ride. I spoke up, and said look around no one is riding perfectly. She then stopped talking. I have told all my family and friends not to go there. The horses seem exhausted, and there stables are filthy. These poor horses need new owners. They should be closed down, as soon as possible. And I will keep telling people stay away from these dirty, rude, ignorant people.

Another trainer who was not training my daughter originally but, who is a trainer & manager of the IEA team @ IHS was very unprofessional towards us. She claims she over sees everything; teaches 40 kids and gives 80 lessons a week there. We were going to weekly lessons there for almost 6 months but, on tues 8/15/23 no scheduled trainer in the book to teach my daughter. This trainer who runs things over there-"so she says"..did not approach, call or contact us to even apologize to explain the mishap and she was at the barn that day too. Another trainer nearby who happen to over hear the lack of professionalism going on offered to step in and help train her. My daughter got a 15 minute lesson instead of her 30 minute lesson that we usually get which we were charged $65.00 for that day. NM was not in the indoor arena for my daughters entire lesson which I can show/prove on video. NM walked into the arena the last 3 minutes of the lesson. My daughter was very upset during and after the lesson. We were very disappointed & dissatisfied with how we were treated and called liars that day since we've been a customer/rider for almost 6 months now. I called the barn manager- left message and got no response. So I called again and I finally got in touch with the barn manager. I explained the entire situation in detail and asked for a make up lesson. Instead of showing good customer service & compassion towards what happened I got told the financial difficulties going on within the barn. I also was advised that NM is "not a manager" there she is just a "trainer" that teaches lessons for the IEA team only. The Barn manager told me I would get a call back after talking to NM but, I never did! Instead once again I was shown unprofessionalism & unaccountability text messages from trainer NM. I knew then we would stop going to this barn for anything & everything but, my daughter had 2 lessons remaining on her package that I knew they would definitely not refund us for. I had enough of being mistreated by this place and watching my daughter get upset over this incident. I asked again on 9/4/23 for a make up lesson for that day and was denied it again. Then on 9/11/23 I explained to a another staff trainer very nicely why we would not be returning for lessons anymore. NM sends me another rude & arrogant text msg implying we are liars and we were not wanted as riders there! Smh-This was of course after I resigned my daughters lessons from IHS to a different trainer. People please be aware of this place and this inexperienced & immature horse trainer NM. She shows no good qualities of customer service & professionalism! I hope she treats the horses better then she treats her students & parents. Will be filing complaints against IHS with the BBB & Business Consumer Alliance Association. Giddy up riders....Beware and don't go here!

I won't list all of them - just some highlights. My friend, who is not experienced, wanted to do this trail ride for our birthdays and we thought it would be fun. I've been on trail rides all over the world and know what to expect, and have never pulled out of a ride because I didn't feel safe until this place. I was the first person to be mounted and when the horse came out, I could see that the saddle was improperly placed too far back. I didn't say anything because it's not my place, but when I mounted, the girth was clearly too loose as the saddle started to slip. I told them that the girth was too loose and also that the saddle seemed to far back so Janet said let's reset the saddle and asked me how I would do it! She didn't seem to know the proper placement or how tight to make the girth because apparently this happened before. She then told me to walk down the lawn and let the horse graze while I waited for the rest of the group. It's not a safe practice to let horses graze while mounted, especially with beginners, but apparently that's what they do regularly. When the group was ready to leave, Janet started off on her horse and just about 30 yards from the barn, before even getting to the trail, the horse tripped and fell all the way down to the ground!! Janet fell off of course, and the horse walked off. If I had any doubt that all the red flags I'd clocked were right, this confirmed it. She was shaken up but ok, but didn't go on the ride, I don't know what was up with the horse but if a horse falls down just walking across a lawn, that raises questions about soundness and safety that are serious.

Parking wasn't an issue for us which was great. The paddle boards were amazing quality, great stability and very comfortable to stand/sit on. I loved that we were able to bring a small lunch bag on with us without it falling off the board. She had a map for us on hand so we knew where we were going since it was our first time in this area. We paddled through the canal which was much calmer and a lot to see. We came out by Bayard and just floated around before heading back. No issue. It was pretty straight forward to go there and back. She has merch back at the trailer which looked very cute. I would definitely rent again ! Great day.

I was nervous about losing my balance especially due to a recent concussion. The instructor really put me at ease and walked me through everything. With her guidance, I was able to learn how to correctly stand up, hold my paddle, balance, and maneuver the board. As an elementary teacher myself, I really admired my instructor's knowledge, patience, and ability to predict my needs before they even came up. I enjoyed it so much I came back for a second lesson with my husband! He caught up to my abilities extremely quickly! And this time, I was really able to take in the scenery and the beautiful area Moku Loa is based out of. The Oakdale Yacht Club itself feels like a vacation resort, but on the paddleboard you really get a chance to immerse yourself in the tranquil landscape. Seriously, the shoreline is absolutely gorgeous, not to mention the different wildlife we saw while paddling. Eventually, I made it to the Connetquot River and was able to take a quick swim before paddling back in! Just an amazing and fun day here on Long Island! Again, I would definitely recommend Moku Loa Paddle Tribe to anyone with Paddleboarding needs. And also for those of us who could just use a tranquil and refreshing break :)
