Whether you're a newbie in the gym, getting back into it, or an athlete, they've got facilities and equipment for you. They have some equipment that you just can't find in most gyms that elevates the whole experience. The owners do a great job of making sure they have the latest and greatest AND all the classic pieces you need. They have a bunch of cool extras too- like gym merch, meals and pre/intra/post workout drinks to purchase, and even supplement samples. Overall, a great place to workout. I recommend to everyone.

Rise Gym has a commercial gym side, a powerlifting side, and a strongman side. In the commercial gym, there is an upstairs and a downstairs section. There's already plenty of treadmills and cardio machines downstairs but there's even more in the upstairs area as well as a section for kids to play in. Not to mention, there is a supplement store where you can shop for protein, preworkout, vitamins, healthy snakcs, etc. so I thought that was pretty neat! As a powerlifter, Rise Barbell is hands down, the best place to work out. The powerlifting side just opened this summer and I cannot thank the owner Dr. Sean for providing such an amazing facility for me to train at before I competed at Raw Nationals this year. There are plenty of brand new TSS combo racks and barbells as well as new Rogue Kilo/pound plates. There's also many deadlift platforms as well as one olympic weightlifting section. Aside from that, there is a long strip of turf that separates the powerlifting section from the machines for body builders. Speaking of body builders, there is a posing room so that's another big plus! Inside this building, there is also a Physical Therapy section run by Dr. Sean. Oh yeah, did I mention there's AC too? I've visited numerous powerlifting gyms in the Houston area but none of them had AC so I appreciate how I'm not drenched in sweat just from walking into a gym. Aside from the amazing facility, the staff and trainers here are incredibly kind. I appreciate how they helped host/run fun events for members to participate in! Overall, the amount of hard work and passion that the owners and workers put into this gym speaks volumes. Honestly, I could go on and on as to why this is the best gym I've ever visited but I hope everyone gets to experience working out at Rise Barbell.

There could be more attention to cleaning of equipment from staff or cleaning services in both the rise gym and barbell. The main door entering rise has been seen multiple times with handprints smudged all over and dust on equipment. I do appreciate the cleaning products and towels to clean off instruments after use, however during non peak times there are no towels available. Not sure who to let know regarding this, but will change my review once I see this area addressed.

It's basic equipment. No fancy anything. No Air Conditioning but there was a nice cross breeze. They have 1 washroom if you need to change. You have to come here with a different mind set and expectations. I come from a dance, pilates, and yoga background so getting on a dirty rubberized mat took a little getting used to. (tip: don't wear white tops.) They really encourage you to come as often in a week as possible, to push yourself as hard as you can when you're here. After each time I was here, I felt it for days! They're supportive and instructive, correcting any errors in form. They also have a class just for women which was nice. There are people who really did well here, made friends and they look great but I'm going to try to find another crossfit box that's not quite so rustic. Crossfit Silverback is looking into building their own building instead of operating out of warehouse/garage space. Maybe I'll check them out then.

I asked one politely to please go outside to the lobby which she did. I asked another politely and she just laughed at me and kept it up for another 20 minutes. I'd had enough and raised my voice to tell her to please take it outside. So one of the front desk people came in and told me my behavior was unacceptable and made them the victim! I was told they allow people to talk on their phones! She was a young girl as were the phone talkers and I'm just an old codger causing trouble. This is so rude. Talking on a cell phone while on a treadmill presents notable safety risks, reduces workout intensity, and breaches standard gym etiquette. Research indicates that conversing on a phone negatively impacts your balance by 19% and significantly lowers your average heart rate and treadmill speed. Loss of Balance: Multitasking divides your attention, causing you to fall out of sync with the machine and significantly increasing the likelihood of tripping or falling. Slips and Drops: Running while holding your phone can easily lead to the device slipping and falling off the machine. Keep it Low/Brief: If you absolutely must take an urgent call, keep the phone to your ear (or use headphones) and keep the conversation to 30 to 60 seconds. Using the speakerphone is widely considered rude and distracting to other gym-goers

She was more concerned if I was going to continue with a regular membership or only use the Groupon for 3 classes. Her demeanor was cold, condescending and indifferent, and she made me feel uncomfortable. I was trying to be inviting and light hearted, but her responses were sterile and demeaning. At the end of class she asked for payment and stated, in a "Holier-than-thou" manner, that she had never used Groupon before. I have never before felt so humiliated by someone who works in the service industry. I am Puerto Rican woman and she exhibited every trait of a racist individual.
