If you go through the app, you can enable membership card to allow for tap entry. Also put in your wallet so it can be used for amenities throughout, like scanning into the pool area. I checked out the content creator room, the bbl lab and checked out the pool and hot tub. I used the sauna after my workout. So excited to see the new group classes they have on schedule. They have tons of machines for strength training downstairs and cardio upstairs. Also the movie theater with stair climbers and treadmills. Parking was good, it was crowded because it's new and I know a lot of people were excited to have this location opened.

My routine is all about trying to get there early enough to claim a lane in the deep end out to 7 feet. Watching some of the regular lap swimmers tear it up makes me wish I had their stroke, but just having access to a pool this clean and well-kept makes the morning drive worth it every single time. The rest of the facility matches that same standard: The Weight Room: Best layout and setup of all the branches, hands down. Downtown is cool, but Clay Road really nails an environment built for every fitness level, from beginners to people moving serious weight. The Facilities: Right on par with downtown and Augusta in terms of quality and upkeep. The Staff: Tops across the board. Friendly, welcoming, and leagues ahead of the attitude you run into at some other locations. If I'm picking where to put in work, Clay Road wins out every time. 5 stars without hesitation.

Executive director Ricky Hernandez is an incredibly incompetent manager. I was on a machine that…read morehas multiple workouts taking one minute breaks (timed) in between my sets when a lady who had been taking up 3 machines at a time asked to rotate with me in between switching machines. I was sweaty and do not like sharing sweaty seats with strangers (I clean the machine before and after to avoid sharing sweat), plus I had seen her hog multiple machines at once. I told her no and she was incredibly entitled and rude. She then went to go get Ricky to get me to rotate with her and he was accusatory from the start. He immediately went to a "I'm the boss" mentality and told me that I need to be more respectful to the lady without even bothering to understand the situation. He escalated the situation immediately while being ignorant to what was going on. As manager, I would expect him to at least try to deescalate matters before picking sides. Instead, he tried to tell me what to do and say, when it was the other party who had been rude to me from the start. I got his name and as I was leaving he was yelling stuff at me about how I needed to act. I do not appreciate such false and inappropriate statements being publicized to the rest of the members and staff. Ricky needs to be retrained on basic client treatment. Truly baffled that such a boorish and tactless man is in management. CLIENTS BEWARE, this is the man that the owners refer you to when you have a complaint.

I can say wholeheartedly that CFE has checked every single one of those boxes for me. All of the coaches are super knowledgeable and very approachable. Whether its been injury/surgery, lacking a skill, or even a mental fear of a movement - all workouts are scaleable for every person's ability and no one is ever judged negatively for it. I am also personally familiar with receiving the loudest cheers for finishing last. I thought I needed to get in shape before starting crossfit - I didn't want to be embarrassed. When I went to that intro session I met three other young women and I know that two of us signed up. In fact, that other woman that I signed up with, started the same day as me. We have become the best of friends. And since, we have met other lifelong friends with the same goals and same values. This gym practices 'bait & switch' sales techniques, they advertise $20 personal training sessions and $10 a month gym memberships. Neither of these statements are true, once you get on site the owner George tries to upsell you stating that the advertised pricing has restrictions and attempts to lock you into a three month contract totaling more than $1500 that he wants to electronically withdraw from your account on his schedule. I spent six weeks working out at this location, had two trainers never received any programming and in full disclosure the second trainer was awesome but was really placed in an awkward position; promised managerial responsibilities but micromanaged daily. George (the owner) is disgruntle, argumental and disrespectful to the members.
