The front desk staff were so sweet and accommodating.. they booked me a last minute room and it was for a solo traveler, since I was single, so it was small but adorable and luxurious and with the most incredible view of the ocean and pool. You can see all of positano from your balcony. I love the cool, clean and crisp ambiance here. There is already so much ancient architecture and history in Italy so it was nice to stay somewhere newer that felt clean and fresh. The all white is very calming yet there are pops of super cool art work and coffee table books around the hotel. We loved hanging out at the pool.. you can order drinks to the lounge chairs. And the restaurant next to the pool I went to everyday for lunch. I do wish they had more gluten free / vegan options actually on the menu.. seeing as it's a hotel with lots of travelers of different diets.. but they gave me a delicious fruit plate and fresh gluten free rolls with a side of avocado which I appreciated, and luckily I'm a light eater so this worked fine. The location was great right between Praiano and Positano. And they offer free shuttles to get around since there are no Ubers and rarely taxis on the Almafi coast.. so this was very helpful. The staff went above and beyond with every detail of our stay. I've stayed in world class hotels around the globe and there is always somewhat of a snobbery or just people who aren't friendly but here they were amazing, so kind and made the whole experience perfect so I would definitely return.

It has since become more of a rough around the edges faulty towers-style hotel than a luxury hotel ... but the location is fantastic for drivers. While the Spanish Quarter is grittier and cooler ... good luck driving through the narrow, packed streets with Vespas whizzing by. If you have a car, do yourself a favor and stay here. You won't be without traffic stress here ... to get in, there is a section where 3 lanes merge into one and then bend around a corner. There are Africans selling packages of tissues or squeegy guys trying to clean your windshield who will not take no for an answer and can be annoying and scary. But, once you get in front of the hotel ... there is no valet, or person to assist with bags. You pull up in front of the hotel and drag your bags up the steps ... only then will someone run over and take your bag. They do not have a garage but there is a person in the lobby who takes your keys to their nearby garage. They give you an estimate of how much your car will cost per day to park. (Ours was $30.) Of course, upon picking up the car they insisted on $40. Welcome to Naples where tourists are marks to be fleeced repeatedly and taken advantage of. My advice is to get in writing how much the car will cost to park. Also, be prepared for the garage attendant to demand a top on top of the fee. It is still worth it not to have to drive in the actual city, though. The front desk staff were abrupt and to the point. Not very friendly, or warm. However, they were efficient. We asked for a room upgrade because it was a special occasion but they said that they don't do that. We were given the keys to our room and escorted up by a bellman with our bags, even though we said we could manage our single suitcase by ourselves. More tips. The room was small and spartan and old fashioned looking ... if you were filming a movie set in the 1950's or 1960's, you wouldn't have to do much set dressing. We had the standard room ... which meant the window faced an inner tunnel with no view and very little natural light. I imagine those with balcony rooms, or rooms which face the water, would be less dreary. The bathroom was nicer than we expected and, though not luxurious by any means, the shower pressure and hot water was good. The bathroom was all marble, so any sounds made could easily be heard in the room, even with a closed door. The bath products were terrible and cheap. There was plenty of storage space in the closets ... more than most hotel rooms of this size and a well-organized shelving system. The bed was not incredibly comfortable because it was two twin beds pushed together. We could feel the crack while we slept. Also, only two flat pillows were given and the towels were old and rough. The maroon wallpaper and lack of natural light added to the dreariness of the room ... but I will say that, although the room was small, it was laid out decently. The location is great! There are less scary people in this area ... and a lot of the nearby restaurants and shops are upscale. We felt like if we had a family with kids, this would be an ideal and safe location. You can easily walk to the downtown areas ... it is a 20 - 30 minute walk, but on a weekend, we felt safe-ish and in the morning, I walked to the Spanish Quarter for photography with no issues. There is a beautiful roof deck, which was unfortunately closed for a wedding while we were there. This is the only feature of the hotel which felt like a luxury ... amazing views of Vesuvius and the water. I am not sure what this is used for when not being used for weddings ... but we would certainly have a few drinks there, if it was a bar. Overall, the grand has faded from this hotel ... but it is still a solid option for an overnight stay in Naples, or if you want to be close to the waterfront/cruise docks.

For me cleanliness, location, security and a good night's rest are the most important for short stays, the amenities I would use here aren't much different than a 3 star hotel and their service was great as far as I could tell. So I can concur with their decent ratings on hotel booking websites. When I arrived I walked into a bright, clean, lobby and room, well-located a five minute walk to the main busy part of town, and a two minute walk to the Sorrento train station with access to Pompeii and Napoli. Reception was friendly and professional, and was able to provide access to my room a couple hours in advance of check-in time when I arrived around 11:30am on a weekday. If room had not been ready they had confirmed luggage could be stored prior check-in or after checkout. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were so-so. Having a regular and usb charger outlet right in bed headboard was a convenient touch. WiFi signal was strong but I wonder if over capacity, because websites weren't loading on my phone. Great water pressure and hot water. Towels were clean. AC worked well for the couple of humid days I was there. I didn't use the TV so can't comment on this. Other amenities: in-room safe, wardrobe, small luggage storage area, small desk with an informal cushioned seat, bidet. Open rooftop terrace with lounge seating. A nice view of the street and neighborhood citrus orchard behind the hotel. I didn't have breakfast here though the breakfast room looked neat and organized. Their elevator is very, very narrow--like maybe two feet wide. Don't expect to fit more than two people without claustrophobia inside, or one person with luggage. Honestly I was appreciative just to have an elevator since some smaller, older hotels in Europe don't. Overall I was impressed by the cleanliness. Not perfect though pretty decent for the location and I'd stay again for the convenience.

It's a charming boutique hotel with stunning, unbelievable views from the balcony of our room (though note, balcony privacy is limited). We were fully prepared to give a 5-star review. However, a disturbing incident on our final night completely changed our perspective and revealed a shocking lack of duty of care from the management. While returning to the hotel via the steep, dark alleyway approach (approx. 50 steps), we found two young women in clear distress. One was nearly unconscious--limp, unable to speak, with dilated eyes--while her friend, who seemed only slightly intoxicated, was struggling to help her. The friend stated they had just been drinking at the Hotel Casa Albertina rooftop bar. As my wife is a nurse, we immediately stopped to assist. Concerned for their safety on the dark steps, we made the logical decision to help the incapacitated woman back up to the hotel lobby, the very establishment that had served them, so she could sober up safely and we could arrange a secure ride home. The receptionist's reaction was appalling. He was immediately hostile, refused help, and demanded we remove her from the premises. We were not accusing anyone of anything; we were simply trying to ensure a patron's safety. The hotel's defensive and aggressive stance was telling and deeply unsettling. I ultimately had to carry this young woman down all 50 steps myself to get her and her friend into a taxi (we confirmed they got home safely). The most unbelievable part was the manager confronting and yelling at us during checkout the next morning, reiterating that we were "wrong" to bring her to the lobby. The complete lack of concern for a customer's well-being is unacceptable. I cannot stress this enough: I would caution anyone, especially women traveling alone or in small groups, to be extremely aware of their surroundings and seriously reconsider patronizing this hotel's rooftop bar. The management's priority is clearly avoiding liability over ensuring patron safety. Their vicious reaction to our good-faith attempt to help was appalling and ruined our honeymoon's final impression. In good conscience, I cannot recommend this hotel or its bar to anyone. The view is not worth the risk.

First two days, we took stairs up and down, everywhere we went (according to my health app, one day we did 82 floors...) and that was killer. Definitely helps going around on the road and avoiding those demon stone stairs. Our room was high up on the third floor with an awesome jetted tub to soak our sore feet and legs at the end of each day. The bed is in the firmer side but still comfy. Also appreciate that they provide lots of pillows and blankets. The balcony is wonderful! Two beach chairs and a table with two seats are perfect for soaking in the fresh air and breathtaking views. Housekeeping and the staff are great! We didn't get room service during our stay but the housekeeper still handed us fresh towels and tp rolls (they're super thin) on our way to our room. Spidey senses are sharp! Also, there's no iron in the room do you just need to call and request. Highly recommend!!!

I think this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel which I know translates to a 3 star in America which makes sense given the price point . The only fault of this place is really the condition of the rooms which again is reflected in the price point . Expect some broken items or perhaps markings on the wall or stuffing coming out of the couch . lol Also walls were semi thin . I heard my neighbors having sex at 2am . Seeing them in the cafe downstairs at breakfast was fun the next day I tell you . That being sad the complimentary breakfast was good enough !!!
